When someone says a Toyota dealer approved chipping it should read “Someone at a Toyota dealership was of the opinion that chipping is OK” If Toyota South Africa was happy with chipping their vehicles will not have lost their warranty when doing so. Respected participants in the overlanding environment is of the opinion that reliability, not performance, is the most important requirement of an overlanding vehicle. By chipping that Fortuner you have compromised its reliability, and the overlanding fraternity will tell you so when asked.

Two points to ponder. That spoiler / wind deflector on the nose of this Toyota has the effect of diverting air flow upwards, resulting in very little air entering the scoop on the bonnet that cools the intercooler. Not a good idea if you ask me.
