    It's a beauty. I'd love to see Honda bring out a bike that looks just like this and has the new 750 Hornet engine.

      thats your it is more straight to the point looks wise and in time or in my case the matte blue paint scheme sort of grows on ya.

    All nice quirky points , the extra fuel was a good one . With the engine revs , I think it’s still in warming up mode . Fuel injection is computer controlled and it’s doing an obvious task to warm the engine up , even though you are already riding . Key locks on panels…hmmm , it’s a cost cutting exercise and probably a deterrent to have the bike stolen , also I know it’s minor but weight saving too .
    Thankyou Warro , you do a perfect “ no bull dust “ reviews on bikes where some of us just want to know those quirks of ownership.

      i watched a couple of clips from india on the honda hiness and although couldnt understand them i heard 17 litres a few times
      if going distance very handy to know as most would think its full but not the case.2 more litres to squeeze in...lol

    Like the semi-retro styling. The tank shape, badge, side cover shape and chrome engine covers all show family similarities to my CB550 that I had in the 80s.

    Have noticed quirk one and two are similar on the CB125F I bought new about six weeks ago (and have done about 2,400 km on since then). Can get somewhat more than the 11 litres stated in the specs in the fuel tank. Nice, given some of the more remote places I am likely to take it. Also on start up it revs high for a minute or two…… a bit annoying, but liveable with once aware of it.

      i can only try i guess!

    I wonder if Japanese Honda engineers designed that awkward arrangement with accessing the Allen key by opening up the side cover with the ignition key. Then using the Allen key to undo the bolt to release the seat.
    I suspect that this "feature" was designed for the Indian market. The Indian market demands loud horns, a lockable petrol cap, lockable side covers and a seat that is bolted to the frame.
    I own a domestic market RE Thunderbird 350cc kick start only motorcycle. My Thunderbird has all the above features.

    • @ridewithwarro

    Hi Warro, it would be interesting to completely empty the fuel tank, then fill it to the brim, that would give a double check on capacity. 😁😁😁

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      one day when i have nothing better to do i might do that. thats probably everyday i think...lol
      i saw several indian clips on the hiness saying there were getting 17 litres of petrol in the factory 15 litre tank...lol maybe the petrol is a thinner or leaner liquid that way..i don't know.
      all i know once its full i was able to add another 2 litres plus wash the outside of the tank with a bit of 95 ron tpo...lol

    On the 2023 Honda CT125 you have to unlock the seat to get to the allen key under the seat to access the toolkit at the rear of the bike. So you need a tool to access the toolkit 🤔 Quirky.

    I'd take that extra liter point with some salt... Fuel tanks can get damaged due to lack of air compensation if filled up too much. But, since I'm no engineer I might be wrong on this one. Just a heads up. :)

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hey Warro, regarding your second quirk about the bike feeling like it wants to continue after a cold start with high revs. When new my CB300R did the exact same thing and was told that the ECU was still learning, it was apparent when cold and went away after a few minutes of riding, however after a few thousand k's this behaviour goes away completely.

    I have gotten used to the split seat. Registration and insurance paperwork are usually always under the seat.
    I have seen footage of individuals who pile their equipment behind them, and for some reason need to unload, to remove the seat for some reason.
    I use high octane like the owners manual stipulates.
    Only time will tell how well the honda comares to the Royal Enfield. The difference in price alone can be a deal breaker.
    $6800.00 before going out the door is steep.
    Can still get a scram or hunter 23 leftover for $2995.00 in the states.
    The Honda appears to be a tad overpriced for Mr. ED ☝️, which breaks my heart. I owned a Z-50 my daughter rode 25 years ago and made the mistake of unloading it.
    Honda is Strong 💪 but I love the Himalayan.
    Stay healthy Warrior!

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well if you can grad a hunter forusd$3000 thats a pretty hard pice to beat and you'll have lots of fun as its a quick little bike.
      just needs better rear shocks and bumps are harsh but at that price...an easy fix
      even here in oz i bet they would still want $7000 for a 23 plate hunter and the scrambler is good price too.
      bit of a coin toss i'd say.

    Hi
    Did a 150 k ride this morning with Partner. Both around the 60kg mark.
    My question is has anyone else noticed what appears to me to pre ignition. Climbing out of Nundle to Sheba dam abt 1,000 ft extra. There are some steep tight corners. Motor not labouring fact around 3,500 wind on throttle to full sounds like piston slap back of to 3/4 goes. Always Shell 98.
    Have also noticed when get above 4,000 in 4th and giving it to it.
    I wonder if like the Enfield it uses the built in maps over 3/4 throttle and doesn’t regulate fuel with O2 sensor. 6,200 ks now.

    Warro. I’m so confused. How does moving the bike side to side create extra space in the tank for more fuel? Does rocking the tank cause some fuel to exit the bottom of the tank somehow? I’ll definitely try this I just don’t understand how it works. :)
    Also what type of fuel are you using in your GB? My dealer said 98 and don’t consider anything else. Ignore the E10 sticker they reckon.
    And yeah, number 2 quirk we’ve spoken about already. Interesting to see the other comment about it potentially going away after a few thousand kms. Will keep an eye on that one.
    Final note: if you check the Honda web site for this bike all the accessories are listed back on there now!

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      im not sure if its and air lock related incident. all i know is if its on the centre stand it just appears full. but once off the stand i was able to put 2 extra litres of petrol in in plus a bit on the tank too...lol
      either way inagine on a trip if you can squeeze in an extra 60 klm of fuel when you naturally thought it was full. never done that on an enfield.
      i use 95 all the time and all bikes. rarely use 98 unless i have no choice and never use 91
      i will check out the honda site and see what they have.
      all the best!

    • @markjames3393
      @markjames3393 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is an air space designed into the tank to allow for expansion due to heat. Gas bottles have a similar design. It is very dangerous to overfill either tank this way

  • @dashamac
    @dashamac 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interesting points, Warro. Regarding the extended high revving, have you spoken to the bike shop to see if it's something they can "adjust" at the first service? It might be worth mentioning the issue with them or their mechanic. I once bought a brand new Hyosung GV650 which had a fuel pump problem; it would run out of fuel high up in the revs. Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump, which was covered under warranty.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      another guy who bought one new his does the same so good chance its in all of them. i have no real issues with the riding side as i get on many new bikes so got a good idea there.
      tank is full now so id like to see if i can score a 500 klm run on one full tank.
      never done that before and more importantly running at 90/100 kph not at 70 kph...lol

      yeah i think that overfilling is not too good an idea. this is a curious filling proceedure indeed.
      id say even quite a few indian riders have scored 17/18 litres it may also be dodgy petrol pumps pocketing the extra 2 litres of cash.
      but that part aside it will take 2 litres more when normally one would say filled so handy to know.

      ...or some may say not as good either. i am on the fence so no issues and can go either side. over to the left is a red/chrome and on the other side a matte blue gb350
      5 years or so back enfield was getting $6500 for their 350 carby version. i actually owned two of them.
      so on todays market i guess add fuel injection and duel channel abs plus either of these will easily outrun the carby 350 enfield and i suppose its reasonable value.
      plus with the honda you do get traction control to handle that near 21 hp. i will have to try it with the traction control off.

    Warro, I get what you are saying about not doing any serious dirt with the Honda. But can you do us a clip on riding it on "normal" dirt roads? My Vespa 150 does 60 on slippery gravel OK, and up to 75 just fine on good dirt roads, and I'm no great shakes as a dirt rider. But I expect the Honda should be better than that, and some of your viewers if they buy the Honda, would not want to avoid dirt roads. So can we see how it goes? I have a serious Vespa question: how does yours go on a dirt road that hasn't been graded for a bit, so has a few corrugations and maybe potholes? Even tho I otherwise love it, my 150 is terrible on that. I am thinking of selling all my bikes and just get the bigger Vespa, but it must be able to handle a bit of average dirt.

      what i can say on sealed roads it runs over bumps near as good as an actual motorcycle but not as good as a motorcycle
      reason being it only has 12" wheeels but with new front end from 2023 in the new 300 its still way better than a forza 350 or xmax 300.
      i had an xt250 5 years back i think. pretty good bike too. i think i found it a bit vibey but apart from that fine.
      if you wait it out honda may release the adv350 here that may be a proposition and still would be cheaper than a vespa.
      but i have not been on a scooter as good as the vespa gts 300 supersport but ive only had 9 i think so no huge comparison - so 2x suzuki 110's/honda pcx160/honda adv 150/3x xmax300's/forza 350 and this vespa 300
      out of those this is easily the pick of the bunch.
      there is a kawasaki klx150 for about $5500 new. that thing will ride almost anywhere and runs bumps good too. 21"/18 rear nice soft ride and can be grabbed used for around $4000
