Life changing recipe, so easy to remember. Tried for the first time, stayed patient and kept stirring the whole way through, didn’t burn a single corn. Perfect crunchy layer on the outside.
Still in shock but folks, IT ACTUALLY WORKED. I've tried endless times and never succeed, but after this video I genuinely got a cinema-like Popcorn. Thank U soooo much, I and my daughter will love you 4ever! Best regards from Germany!!!
A tip I saw somewhere else was to leave the lid open just a tiny crack to allow moisture to escape to ensure crispiness, this tip was given on a recipe which only used oil and no water, so I can imagine it would apply even more to a recipe which uses more oil and water too. I'm going to try the recipe now and will report back when I'm done! Edit: It worked great, but two things, first, it took a LONG time before the corn started popping, so you gotta be patient and keep stirring, never let it sit for more than a few seconds at a time. And second, it did burn a liiiittle bit, it was still nice, but a little "too caramelised", so I think depending on your stove/hob you gotta experiment with how hot it is and how much you stir it. I have an induction hob so it gets very hot very fast, and it can heat more than a regular flame hob, so I think I maybe had it a bit too hot (like when the instructions say turn it up to full heat, on my hob that's basically instantly gonna burn everything even if I stir it, so I gotta figure out the optimal heat, and you may have to do the same depending on your hob)
Came out PURRRRRFECT! Thank you! For everyone saying it burnt, the trick is to keep stirring the oil, water and sugar until the popcorn pops, then keep moving the pot as its popping. Only the bottom burnt slightly for me because I didn't move the pot straight after the popcorn started popping. Apart from that the individual pieces of popcorn didn't stick like with other recipes, and it tasted amazing...just like cinema popcorn !
@user-kk7xc6tx2f @user-kk7xc6tx2f I think when I did it I mixed the oil, water and sugar before turning on the heat because I didn't want the sugar to burn. Then I kept the heat on medium until the sugar all melted and I added the popcorn kernels soon after. Changed it to medium low after that. Even when I make normal popcorn I put it into cold oil before turning the heat on. I never add popcorn kernels to an overly hot pan because otherwise it will burn
Took me longer than 5 minutes, but it was really worth it. We halved the recipe to make it more manageable. Best recipe we've tried so far. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!!! I had to comment on this. It really worked for the first time I tried it. I actually made a sweet popcorn for my daughter. I have tried several different methods, but never I never get a good result. This is the best method and so so sweet. God bless you real good. Best regards from Nigeria.
Amazing! Tried this today. Perfect sweet popcorn. No burnt pan or popcorn! kept stirring and shaking when the lid was on. Came out perfect. I will be making this again and again for sure! Thank you ❤
This worked perfectly, I was worried it was taking a while to start popping but rememberd I need to turn the heat up all the way , probably to allow the water to evaporate so the oil and sugar are left to allow the popping
Tried this recipe today. It was very good. Very crispy! I like it! Thank you very much. 👍🙏I think adding water and stirring are very helpful. The only thing I would remind others is to use a big pot. I used my 28” stainless steel pot and it wasn’t big enough. In the end the sugar was a bit burned. Next time I will use half of the amount so it finishes popping before the sugar is over cooked.😊
Followed this recipe today, was easy to understand, however it took much longer than 5 minutes as stated in the title, took a total of 20 mins for the popcorn to pop. Overall the taste was nice, very close to cinema/shop popcorn. 😊
This was sooo good 😋🤤. I know a lot of people said it was burned but the trick is to keep stirring. I added more sugar (just a preference ) and just a few kernels were left uncooked and burned but except for that amazing ❤
It worked! I was about giving up because it took a long time for the corn to pop. I was about throwing it away before it started popping. Thank you so much. I’m not making my popcorn any other way!
It was so good i was actually surprised it came out so good and it tasted like popcorn u would get in the cinema u jave to try this recipe for anyone wondering
OMG! Amazing results here. I cut the recipe in half & I used an electric Presto Stirring Popper popcorm maker instead of doing it on the stove. Results were PERFECT. Shoot! I ate the whole batch myself. Next time I'll only use half the sugar bc I felt guilty after consuming my batch with 1/4 cup of sugar.
Also, none of mine burned. I wrapped a dish towel around the front ( so it wouldn't spit at me) and slightly shook the popcorn popper continuously, the whole time (about 10 mins.).
Oh my God you are the best at first I did not want to try it but when I did oh my God I and my baby was so happy it came out perfectly just some as yours, I love you, you are just the best 👌 .
Just tried this recipe, 1st try fail (burn) because I change oil with butter (bubbling too much and sugar burn). 2nd try big success (use corn oil and reduce sugar). Thanks, very nice and crispy! No burn at all!
thanks on the night i sent the comment I tried to strain it and put it in the microwave and it kinda worked a few days later I tested it in the pan and that had more taste though so its best in the pan but when strained microwaving is kinda possible
I've tried the recipes that only use butter and oil, the thing is you really have to keep an eye on it not to burn. Next time I might try using this water method and cut out the oil. The water seems like it'll stop the sugars from burning to fast.
@@infinite101_ I used Sunflower 🌻 oil that I cook with. I really wanted it to work. I think I won’t give up so easily and try again but maybe with less popcorn in the pot
Dude i just literally filled the house with smoke before this video trying to make sweet popcorn. The sink got stuck, because i poured water on the hot pan, trying to wash it down. Also i spent a lifetime trying to clean that single pan i made it in. The bottom of that thing looked like some stranger things blackstuff shit from another dimension. We're still alive
Why not? Then you also can skip the syrop making part too. Only hit the oil, drop corn, mix it on high temperature. When first corn pops up, shut down the gas, stir the pan. You can use a bit of sult for flavour.
First time: went horrible most of it was burnt and it had a bitter taste Second time: actually followed the instructions , some of it came out burnt but it was pretty delicious 8.5/10 not the best recepie but it's definitely a good one that's worth giving a try

5 minutes after watching this video I tried making mine and it’s literally so perfect ugh🤤🤤🤤🤤thank you
Best popcorn recipe I have tried. Way better than just using oil or butter. Popcorn cooks perfectly with no burning and is also well covered in sugar.

I am not scared about water. Adding water to hot oil is dangerous. Did it burst like bomb?
Best sweet popcorn
Great sharing, thank you
love it from the pan but is it also possible for in the microwave
Hi thank you for the question, it’s not possible to do this in the microwave

is this normal sugar or caster? Thanks in advance
Think I will try this, love sweet popcorn. But can I ask, why water? What does it do?
Adding water prevent (or slows down) the burning of sugar. It's also helps to caramelise corn more evenly.
Can I use milk instead of water ??
Perfect!

Can I use the popcorn machine for this process?
I've tried this twice now but the popcorn burns. What am I doing wrong??
same here
I tried this recipe and the pop corn came out brown and tasted burnt 😭
I've been doing this for a while and the key is to stir/shake it nd to use the right oils (coconut, avocado, olive, vegetable, canola)
@@infinite101_ I used Sunflower 🌻 oil that I cook with. I really wanted it to work. I think I won’t give up so easily and try again but maybe with less popcorn in the pot

Lol. I just made it and it turned out pretty incredible. Make sure to turn down the heat once the first kernel popped and you out the lid on.
