That was an amazing haul!! Love the show very much, but I'm astonished that there would be any confusion amongst gold miners what gold is weighed in, and what those value are.
We only measure in grams so the other units don't matter to us.

It’s called go through everything with a magnet first and separate that material then pan the magnetic stuff and the gold stuff till it’s all cleaned up!

Trick for black sand. Glue a good magnet to the bottom of the bottom of gold pan. Black Sand stays in place unless it's not magnetic then it's easier to pay.

incredible clean up! there's likely another ounce or more that went out the bottom of the gold cube, no way it catches everything if you're getting that much color in the bottom tray. hopefully he saves all them cons.

Run a small bead of silicon around the edge of that rectangular piece on the very top of the cube to stop that annoying leak. More of an OCD thing than anything else.

You guys had it backwards. A Troy pound is 12 Troy ounces. A regular pound is 16 regular (avoirdupois) ounces. The avoirdupois ounce (the common ounce) is defined as exactly 28.349523125 grams and is equivalent to one sixteenth of an avoirdupois pound.

We measure in grams usually and convert it to troy ounces.
