- This has to be one of the simplest meals to create, CHeese And Potato Pie. Its not strictly a pie but that's what it is called.
Here are the ingredients to our Cheese and Potato Pie With Onions and tomatoes.
About 6 medium potatoes,
250 grams of cheddar cheese, we used extra mature,
2 white onions,
Some sliced tomatoes,
Some butter for the mash and some milk.
We pressure cooked our potatoes in our Cosori pressure cooker 5.7 liter amzn.to/3OLxGzK for 7 minutes.
cooked the completed pie in our Cosori Dual Blaze Air Fryer 6.4 liter Air Fryer amzn.to/3TPJnay for 15 minutes at 180 Deg C

Had this as a child and was wondering if I could make one in the air fryer. Now I know! Loved it then and still,love it now. Usually have it with peas and tomatoes. I’d like to cook it longer so the sides crisp up a bit as well, so will be experimenting. Thank you so much 💕

This looks delicious. Don’t know what it is but I’ve tried every setting on my tv and it always seems the lighting is too bright on these videos when trying to see the finished dishes on the top of your worktop. Must just be down to your overhead lighting because everything on the worktop is mega bright and sometimes hard to see the food, especially lighter foods but the food I do see, looks fantastic. Makes me hungry every time! 😊

Hi Martin and Sharon, just to let you know me and the wife have both had or are just getting over the latest COVID strain which might be the same as what you and Sharon have had and its brutal mate with that endless cough that comes and goes so send our best to Sharon. I'm afraid younger people (our kids' ages) are very guilty of eating out most of the time. Good knows why when they were bought up on home-cooked meals!

Of truth were told the basic plain complexities are healthier and easy to prepare.
I love cooking potatoes in my pressure cookers I only add a cup of water to a 5lb bag cooking 5-6minutes. I cook the full bag mash and use ice cream scoop to portion freeze. Husband loves combination of mashed tur nip and potatoes cooked and mashed together. As there's only two of us now a once a month cook of 5 lb potatoes does us almost a month while a turnip and 5b bag of potatoes again I've cream scooped as portions and flash freeze. Once bagged all you need to us take out as many portions as needed.

People forget how a few simple ingredients can be turned into something so tasty. So many cheffy cooking shows which I think are more about the chef showing their skills rather than being easy to make recipes. It's why Delia has always been so popular.

This recipe brought back fond memories of when I was a youngster, my mother used to do this for our dinner only she used to use tinned tomatoes on the bottom, then the cheesy mash on top. I think I will try it the way you have done it this weekend, I'm really looking forward to it now, another great British family recipe Sharon and Martin (notice I put the bosses name first, lol), keep these lovely family dishes coming people, I love simple easy to cook very tasty meals, who doesn't right? These are they that get a ring of the door bell, Mr Take-Away delivering food. Cheese and potato pie is amazing. We used to make it for workers, workers at the factory. Another is cheese and tomato pie.

This is one of my favourite meals, have cooked it for years. I mostly have it with salad but I also like it with baked beans. I sometimes put slices of tomato on the top, I never thought of putting a layer of tomatoes in the middle, I will definitely try that for extra flavour. Glad you are feeling better Sharon. The Hairy Bikers 'Mums know best' had something like this great traditional recipe several years ago. I love the inspiration your Air fryer recipes give me! We used to have cheesy mash with tinned corned beef when I was little...yes with baked beans too! So when I can eat carbs again I will be making it all in a pie instead! My low Carb diet going well and also imspired by your set of videos on that too so I thank you for all you do. Great stuff! Still make a similar version I learnt at school in the 70's. We didn't mix the onion in the potato, but fried it separately then added the skinned sliced tomato. We then put half the spud/cheese mixture in the dish, spread the onion/tom mixture over that, then spread the rest of the potato mixture. We topped with grated cheese and sliced tomato...going to have to add onion to the potato, sounds delicious! Thanks 😊

love cheese and potato pie... i boil my onions first for a little while, then drain the water off into my potato pot before cooking the potatoes, then i get the onion flavour into the potatoes too
