I was able to keep it in good shape even though I live in the area where town use salt in winter. All I do is reapplying rust protection at least every couple of years. Here are couple videos about it: th-cam.com/video/8HE3eYn_aq0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/jL9h8lUy6dU/w-d-xo.html
I do like the 35'3...but... I want to go the other way and put on narrow AT or Mud tires on my H3. Can you recommend the narrowest AT or Mud tire I can put on?
I used only Goodyear Wrangler MT/R With Kevlar and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac and like both, good for mud and snow. Don't have much experience with other tires, so not sure which are good or better
Rims are Mickey Thompson SIDEBITER 2. I would suggest to go on Mickey Thompson site and search for their distributors or google your local wheels shop and ask them if they can get for you. I got from local 4x4 shop in Toronto. Tires should be available in every tires shop - those are 315/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
35's of course, but still looks sweet with the 33's. It's just a good looking truck even with no wheels..haha. I ordered the milestar 35's, and should be in next week. We'll see if they rub or not. I read that not all 35's rub. it depends on the brand. I will let you know though :) can;t wait..haha
@@NewRoad Yeah I'm sure I'll feel some difference since I'm coming off 31's, but I'll be using the same stock rims. Oh well, but Its going to look awesome, so that makes up for it :)
Well they came in..and they look huge!!!! hahaha...I decided to order new wheels for them so i can change back and forth from time to time, like you did. Good idea what you did, plus saves wear and tear on tires.
I like the 35 do you broken cv axle with 35 on the off road i have 2006 with rear locker diff and i putt front arb air locker i have 33 mt tire and i want to go with 35 i dont no now how match is strong the front diff do you have any problems with 35?
I broke CV axle only once on my H3 in 10 years of offroading on 35's and only because I let H1 to yunk me out of deep mud hole instead of winching myself out. Go for it - but don't crank torsion bar too high
No lift required, you may want to crank torsion bar a bit to level it - which is very easy to do, and here is a video how to do it: th-cam.com/video/OJXq58NzJyE/w-d-xo.html
Hello .... Do you get much water in the engine compartment with the those hood louvers ? , any link for them ?. / Dose it help a lot with cooling ? Did you drill all the way through the hood to mount the handles or into the louvers only?? Hey Thanks for all your Killer videos and your help ! ! ! P.S. I also like both 33 / 35's. With my roof rack only clearing the garage by 1/4" on open country 285/75 R 16 I can't have 35's :( and keep my H3 a F.I.G. ( fits in garage ) ..
I didn't actually cut big holes under that louver since we have frequent rains and lots of salt used in winter on roads. But I did drill holes to attach the louver. So far so good, no rust or water getting inside
So are the black wheels a different offset than the stock? Did that help with the front wheels not rubbing with 35s? Could I put those same exact size 35s on my stock H3 wheels and still not have rubbing issues? Or do I need 16 inch rims with a different offset so they stick out further?
@@Arctic650Spider ahh ok cool. Do you happen to know the offset you are using on the black 16-inch wheels? It's time for me to get tires and I would love to do 35s.
There is no offset on black rims - and I do get rubbing a bit. It doesn't bother me much. I can't find good 16 inch rims with proper offset that will eliminate rubbing. If you find good one - please let me know
Plus more offset means more pressure on the wheel bearings in addition the heavier tire. Better to put up with the rub not at full lock often. Not that great for CV joint either
@@Arctic650Spider awesome. I'm going to try the same size tires you put on the black wheels on my stock 06 Hummer H3 Wheels. Or do you suggest a different diameter Tire to go with 16 inch stock wheels for my h3?
All good and all the same my friend. Hope you have your family staying safe and doing ok. Do you still take your yota for off-road? Haaven't see any vids lately
Yes still have the FJ Just haven't been out at all this year . Took the 6" lift off and put on a 3" lift. We were supposed to go back to the Yukon this year but it's put off till next year
The 35 I started to put some on today with stock wheels. They had been slow leaking. Found out why. Looked good outside bead had 8 inch corrosion spot
Damn those black rims look amazing 😍
I love them too, Mickey Thompson Sidebiter...
Sorry for off topic, what rock guards/rails are those? Looks very lovely!
Those are OEM came with Adventure package when I bought my H3
Very clean H3! Your frame looks great 🤓

Rust Cure Formula 3000

Yea, I heard that some people don't have problem with rubbing... but I don't think it is big issue anyway. Good luck with project!

Not really, it also depends what aftermarket rims and tires you get - If you get heavier tires and rims you may feel some difference

Sorry, both sets are 16"
Did u install a lift kit?
No lift kit, just cranked torsion to 23 and quarter

17 rims and 35's tires
Can you get it in the garage on 35's?
Yeap, even with roof rack and 35's - I park in garage
Do you have wheel spacers on your hummer?
No, I don't like those and don't recommend
Do the 33s rub at full turn with the stock rims ?
No, it should not
I hear that some 285s on stock rim rub after torsion bar lift , do yours rub ?
