- Long time, no see! I thought I would do a cover of this beautiful song "She Used To Be Mine". It is definitely one of my favourite songs right now, if not-all time! I have watched my friend Shoshana Bean sing this song (perfectly) so many times which has inspired me to do my own little version at home.

Love these lyrics. One of my favorite songs. This is not her original, however. I don’t know if you realize or not! It’s by Sara Bareilles from the Broadway show turned movie “Waitress”. It’s a really good movie, too!

In the beginning Simon Cowell offered her a recording contract, but her mother decided she was too young or she didn't like Simon, either way she turned it down. She would have had major promotion but signed to Rainbow Recording instead. So who knows. But don't feel too sorry for her, she is still very successful in her own right.

But at least she didn't have greedy parents like some that throws their kids to the wolves and take all the money. They kept her career separate and didn't depend on Connie to support the family.
So beautiful in every way......the amount of hard work that Connie has put into her singing, performing and music over the years we have all seen it and to share it with us consistently over the years has been a gift to many. Such a kind selfless act thanks Connie :)
It's beautiful to see her maturing in her phrasing and confidence. She's becoming her own stylistically and its such a gift to watch a child grow up right before your eyes. Bravo
I think I have watched every version of this song out there and this is a VERY good take. I, like you Connie, have watched Shos version countless times, and it is a master class in acting a song. That said I REALLY like your take on it, you strike a great balance between singing the song and acting it. Unlike Sho, you don't have the benefit of a live piano player that will adapt to your phrasing as you sing, and yet you still are able to add so much emotion. Your runs are tight and tasteful, and your diction and phrasing is crystal clear. You never lose site of the journey the song takes us on.

I just recently discovered this wonderfully penned song when I joined our high school musical and we did Waitress. This is a Wonderful rendition for sure.
That was literally the most emotional heart breaking version of that song I have ever heard. I get very picky about Broadway covers because the songs are “built”” rather than written to be performed with the whole body engaged in the emotion of the scene. You have captured Jenna in a way I have not seen before and it is very raw and beautiful. Very well done 👍💗

Connie - I grew up with names like Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon, Carole King they were some of my favorites. There is something about the way you sing that reminds me of these singers and in my mind you fit right in with your own uniqueness, and by the way music transcends time. I suppose that's why I enjoy the way you sing so much. Thank you for acquainting me with this song, I think it is absolutely beautiful and I loved the way you sang it, just like it was made for you.
