Matty Zerby An old soul, knows the depth of that pain in a timeless moment of greatness. THANK you to whoever shared this. I can hardly see thru my tears right now.
I love how all the cast cry too. Like they hear this song everyday, but it has a different meaning every time they hear it. Shows how good he is, and how much emotion he has.
Alot of the people they get up on stage and just sing the song, they may sound amazing but if you cant get the crowd to feel and connect to the character you are portraying then your failing the production. This kid actually connects to the song and emotes and acts that's what will make him a Broadway star.
Even as a man on TH-cam as I am I am brought to tears hearing him sing it as well as Lucy Jones. Or Sara Bareilles. That's the sign of a professional or at least a singer when they can engage you and stop your brain from thinking about whether or not the kids are getting their homework done at home or that paper you have to write for work tomorrow. They capture your heart and soul and it comes bubbling out of your eyes. That's because it's pure joy. Your heart stop speeding for a moment. And then you belong to the song.

Guys imagine this is her kid grown up singing about his mamas struggle when she was pregnant with him after being told her story or finding her diary or something
The fact that this young man can get up on stage, feel such heartfelt emotions and still belt with such force, all whilst sharing a part of his soul and vulnerability that reduces a professional cast to tears, is nothing short of incredible. You rock kid!
this is the best version (of non-broadway singers) that i've heard ever. there were no over-the top embellishments, no tricks for scaling, just pure clean notes with such raw emotion especially at the end. Belting / hitting high notes is always impressive, but the soft and vulnerable notes at the last part of this performance are what will make you cry. bravo!
This kid absolutely murdered this song. I’m so impressed with his range and he is hitting those notes so perfectly concerning pitch. This is definitely something I could listen on repeat for hours.
I know this song is meant to be sung by a broken pregnant woman. However, a friend sent me the lyrics in an email before I saw they play and I interpret the lyrics differently. The life growing inside me was my own! For many years I refused to admit who I AM because of where and how I was raised. Suicide was a serious option for me until I heard this song. I know what the song means in terms of the musical and how powerful it is, but I thank Sarah for writing this for other reasons. Music has the power to heal and help! Never forget that!!! May god bless you all and I hope you love the life YOU were meant for, and not the one others say you should!
A ‘Waitress 2’ musical about a young man/teen boy (who was once a player but after some bad things happen to him such as losing his parents tragically, he changed and thus gets a job) working at a restaurant who gets a child dropped off at his doorstep and is struggling to raise his child because he was there with no warning, written with completely new music except it brings back this song. And a love interest? You got it. Cue an older, happier Jenna in her bakery with her shy teenage/young adult daughter at the end of the musical after the young man has finally learned to love himself and hint at the love interest at the very end.

I will always love how he ends the the last verse so softly. He took us to another stratosphere with his belting, and then gently brought us back home at the end.
This is a rare talent. He embodied the character Jenna so perfectly just then and sang so amazingly. Adrian is built for this. I hope to see him on stage sharing his amazing talent as a career. Congratulations Adrian

What makes me so emotional is not only how amazing he is, its absolutely undeniable! But looking behind him and seeing how the cast have the biggest proudest smiles for him. They wait for every note with anticipation and excitement and are rooting for him the whole time to do his best. This is why I love theater, the support within the community is one of a kind
The Voice coaches would turn around at that first note, if this was a blind audition. Goodness, those gasps and sighs reflect his melancholy and that high note and agony show his musical maturity. I want to hear more of him.

@@georgiacatt1979 Thanks for clarifying.. (I've run across a lot of obtuse people in my time.)
I will always love how he ends the the last verse so softly. He took us to another stratosphere with his belting, and then gently brought us back home at the end.
It’s called “typical” music interpretation…smh🙄
I'm still not quite sure if he was actually about to cry or if it was just the acting cuz either way it was amazing
So can we get Adrian in a recording studio cause it’s really draining my battery having this playing on TH-cam in my pocket on all day!
Same!!
I watched it so much I need his cash app 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Haha what I was thinking! Exactly!👌 well said 👏
Omg, I thought his name is Jenna! 🤯 (he is that GOOD)
this 5 minute video took me 15 minutes to watch because I kept rewinding to listen to this kid's amazing vocals. He had me crying.
Who gave this lil dude the damn right to just send my wig into space and leave me bald and weeping? Who are you parents? They need to be informed.
Keith Harrell ❤️
Keith Harrell I’ve literally never read a comment that not only made me laugh but also represented me completely
When I say this hit different, this hit different
never cried at anyone else performing this song, damn. talent.
Only Shoshana but that was in her recording of it with just the Piano.
When he hits that high note the throws his hand I cry everytime , he is so powerful. I can’t wait to see him on Broadway someday . 😂
THIS IS ACTUALLY INCREDIBLE
Wow....just wow
3:30 the people in the back are my MOOD THIS DUDE IS AN ANGEL
The people who disliked this probably thought it said: “Dis I like.”
kiwikawaii 8608 it’s doesn’t even say dislike or like for me 😂
This is a rare talent. He embodied the character Jenna so perfectly just then and sang so amazingly. Adrian is built for this. I hope to see him on stage sharing his amazing talent as a career. Congratulations Adrian
This was amazing but also Al Roker's face when he hit that note was a serious mood like wow
I thought that was Al Roker
I got OBSESSED with the original video on Facebook. This kid needs to perform at Miscast. He is going places!!!!
Miscast? More like he needs to be the new Jenna!!
Oh yes!!! He's going places indeed. October 2018
it's too early in the morning for me to be crying like this.
hannah leigh same !
Jesus, that moment at 3:57 when he just soaked everything all in, the audience, the amazing opportunity, it made me tear up so much.
And the audience getting up on their feet to support him gave me chills. Such a beautiful community the theatre community is.
Adrian: has an amazing soprano voice
Puberty: I’m about to ruin this mans career
I have been through this 🙄😂😂😂
Juanpe_02 Same!!
omg i can relate
If he sings through his voice breaking it will be controlled .lets pray
*Chris Colfer has entered the chat*
HE WRECKED US AND WE LOVE IT
I am moved by his pregnancy and hardship. But kidding aside, this kid gave above and beyond justice to this song. Amazing.
I cried so much watching this young man giving his soul here. It's amazing how he can sing and was able to touch me.
Jessie Mueller NEEDS to sing with him PLEASE
This is probably the 15th time watching this video, and when I started it I said to myself "okay you cried the last 14 times, don't cry this time". Nope. There are tears again.
same here
Mood 😔
Same here 😭 I have also listened to it over 15 times I can't stop he is phenomenal
Over 15 times just can't stop. He's the best I've found sis ginger this song. 2nd is Islam dude off America's got talent but number one by far is dis lil man. I love love love his voice and his demeanor 100%
3:30 that mans reaction! Ugh the cast is so supportive of him❤️❤️
That's al roker lol
I see that too..
five years later and i still come to this video when i need a good cry
you are not the only one
I feel sorry for the poor actress that was playing Jenna that day.
Mike Kossifas why?
Cuz he sang it better than her, I think he's saying.
you ppl who compare singers just really know how to ruin a moment.
It’s a joke mate
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OK TEARS
The emotion exuding from his voice is hurt and damaged. This is a true artist you can tell he has a a true talent to connect to a song. 💖🧡
This is the only version of ‘She Used To Be Mine’ I will accept, thank you very much, I will not be taking questions.
HE’S MY NEW FAVORITE JENNA
YESS!!!!
Madison Voelcker YES YES YES
I just love how the cast was cheering for him.😍❤
I watch this video at least once a week to cure my depression
Awww! Ure gonna be fine. Always remember that youre not a mistake and you are not your mistakes. God loves you. 😊
You will be okey. (Hugs)
Antonio Fernández hugs. hope you will be ok
i agree. his voice soothe your heart and lift you up. :) everyday, I've been listening to him.
Same.
😢
I feel disrespected by his talent. He is perfection. This is literally the best version of this song.
What makes this so special is his enormous capacity for empathy at such a young age.
This boy is gonna go very far in this world. What a spectacular performance...had me crying
hope hell be got bright future with his talent
The Voice coaches would turn around at that first note, if this was a blind audition. Goodness, those gasps and sighs reflect his melancholy and that high note and agony show his musical maturity. I want to hear more of him.
