- Last week we created each element of a track from scratch and we ended with a good 8 bar loop. Today I am gonna show you how to transform this 8 bar loop into a full arrangement...
Keep in mind this is a very methodical method and doesn't need/have to be followed exactly like shown, each track are different and always follow your inspiration.
But this can be helpful if you're struggling with arrangement and help you overcome your struggles with arrangement...

I don't usually comment, but I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for making these types of videos. It's amazing how you manage to provide such high-quality content for free. Big thanks from Sweden!
Wow, thank you! and you're welcome, its a pleasure !
Free Project File ! It’s Christmas Time ! ♥️Thank you Paul !
Haha you're welcome!
your channel never dissapoints, thanks!
Happy to hear that! Cheers
If I do actually make the transition to Ableton (looking like a dead cert) suspect I’ll be your best customer Paul. Great job as always 👌
Hahah cheers mate!
More expense...🙄😳
You just made it look so easy.
Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
The speed at which you made choices and arranged this is very impressive! Nice work! I think my issue in expanding the loop to track is that I don't think I ever have enough elements in the loop.
Well this was edited for the sake of video, is no way I can arrange a track that fast..
That can happen, sometime I feel the same but if I know more or less what to add (ie ride, FX, another synth/vocal) and that I feel inspired to do the arrangement because the inspiration strike then I start the arrangement build the basic structure, knowing also I will add element here and there, I usually put marker where to add missing element and what missing element to add... Then when the main structure of the arrangement is done I add the extra element s, do some adjustment etc...
@@audioreakt Well still, the beginning rough sketch looked pretty uncut! It's definitely a skill that needs learning (it's just so fun to make a new 8 bar loop instead 🙂)
Awesome, thanks Paul! :D
Thanks 🙏
BRILLIANT
thank you !
Youre a G, thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
Just downloaded the template and.. it's fantastic! Going to learn so much from it. Thanks so much Paul 🙏🔥
Congratulations, whats the point of copying? BE ORIGINAL, do something that no one have done.
Brand new to Ableton so for use as a tutorial only..
don't listen to people like this, they will always complain about everything you do, no matter what...lot of people struggle with music production because they overthink because of comment like this...just have fun and enjoy the process that's all what matter...
@@audioreakt too many people now trying to make music, and enjoying, thats ok.
everybody is watching what others are doing, but these others keep doing the same thing. it is good for learning how to use the tools, not for creating.
For sure Paul. I would never copy anyone anyway (already have my own style). Especially not an artist like yourself. This template is going to be so instructive into understanding Albeton's workflow - that's how I'll be using it.
Thank you!!!👍🤘
You're welcome!
🙌 sounding great Paul 👌 see you in the next livestream 😀
thanks, see you monday then haha !
Hi there Paul...long time no see ( dont have much time, a lot of work right now and cant see your lives but after i always can learn something with your amazing stuff) thanks a lot!
Hey long time no see indeed, well happy to hear that, hope to see you popping in a Livestream in the future 😊
hey man! another great video!
I‘m curious about whats your opinion on how much of an experience of live mixing (djing) helps in terms of arranging
Thanks, well if you are already a DJ, that can help because you had to understand a minimum the structure of a track, intro/outro, change every 8/16 bar etc... But then if you don't focus more on what is in between then it's really really helping... So I would start DJ to be better at arrangement but if you are already DJ you might have feel that knowledge already... The best way to learn about arrangement is to analyse them, drop them into Ableton, chop each section, analyse each section, what they are made of, how to intro, when new element are brought into a track, are synth in the breakdown the same than in the chorus, what differentiate a chorus and verse in term of element s etc...
@@audioreakt tanks for that answer, will check these points in the next song-analyzing-session :)
can you recommend good headphones that also have a good sound in the bass range and rattle properly ? my beyerdynamic are good, but they lack the bang in the low end range. thx :)
I personally use the dt 770 pro 250oms and I like them... The things is have been using the same model since the beginning so I know them well perfectly...
@@audioreakt i guess u need a strong audiointerface to power up the dt770 pro ?
LOL, its not techno, its trance.
It's trancy techno 😅
guys, you need to do something different, it is more of the same. Be creative, dont copy each other. This genre is totally fked
well each track is different so you will always do something different, this is a good base to start adn then you can adjust depending the element of the track you have, the vibes etc... and the copy/paste actually dont work most of the time if you exactly copy a structure because each track is different, so even if you copy you will have to adjust and make your own to make the track more cohesive...
@@audioreaktsee? thats the problem. the base is always the same, you modify it a bit to make sure it diesnt look like a copy. it is not you, it is everybody, there is no ideas, hence more of the same, no offence
@@jameswalker3869 imo each genre have a basic structure and that's one of the things that define the genre too...and each genre have their own base structure...I've been listen to techno for almost 20 years, and for almost 20 years i heard the same things : it was better before and nowadays all the music is the same... still techno is still there, if it was all the same and better before no one will listen to it nowadays... now if you find techno boring because you think all techno is the same maybe techno is not for you anymore and then just listen to something or be the one that make things change...
