Hey Carl. Table looks beautiful. (Ignore the haters.) Maybe a dumb noob question, but I was watching the Woodworker’s Source video on three finishes for sapele, and the third one he did was the darkest and also my favorite. According to the vid, he said it was a “clear Danish oil.” Is that what you’re using here as well? I’ve scored enough sapele for a table top but trying to figure out a way to make it darker when finishing without feeling like I bastardized the wood by using a stain, etc. Thanks!
@@RyanWattersRyanWatters I believe giving it 3-4 coats would make it a lot datker. I saw a video where a guy compared 1-5 coatings and it got darker and darker. Not like black more of a deep brown amber

Can this be varnished over? I want to use sapele for marine purposes
I sprayed clear lacquer over top and it has held up fine as an indoor piece, I imagine you'd be ok using a marine varnish but haven't done so myself
First coat would be better wwith a brush...this is too thin for the first coat.
