I have the EGR delete kit ready ti install, but I don't have tune to delete the cel. Can I go ahead and delete my egr and deal with the cel being on until I get the tune or would leaving it be hurt my truck? This may be a dumb question 😂
Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure. I know that deleting the def system without disabling it will cause the truck to go into limp mode, but I don't believe an egr code will do that.
All the electrical stuff you unplugged stay unplugged and get tied off correct? Do they throw engine codes or anything from being unplugged?
You will need an egr delete tune in order to not throw any codes. My truck already had the tune from when I deleted the def system
@@PistonheadProductions thank you for getting back to me .. so when I bought my truck it already had a def delete and exhaust and 5 tunes by ezlynk do you think it would already have that tune? Or would I have to re tune it?
It's likely that it would be a part of those tunes but I can't say for sure. You could probably test by disconnecting the egr actuator and going for a drive. It should pop a check engine light if the delete isn't in the tune.

This is my first newer diesel so I’ll have to figure out what plug that is I’ve always had older Cummins and older Duramax so all this emissions stuff is new to me but I’m looking to do the EGR delete and the throttle valve delete and possibly the grid heater delete as well
Is this the same process for a 2020 3500 for the egr delete? Fully stock 112k just threw the code for the egr and stealership wants 1700 to repair.
The install process will be the same, however I'm not sure if they changed the PCM or not for the 5th gens so flashing it could either be really easy like mine, or really difficult.
Any recommendations on which brand? Guessing I might as well do a full delete, but the egr is the most pressing issue right now.
The kit I got was just from Amazon. For the most part the kit is just some adapters and block off plates, so there isn't much that can fail. The only weak point you may have is the hose portion of the kit, and even that is hard to really mess up
Which dealership is that? I was quoted $3000 to $4000.
