the light in Burghead was absolutely magical!! and what a perfect place to give yourself permission to spend as much time as you chose to explore and paint and just experience that section of the trail. shout out to Wolfy for picking you up when you were ready so you could explore to your hearts content :)
This is so gorgeous and you have beautifully captured the light, sight and sounds of this magical place. Thank you Sarah for allowing us to go with you.
Sarah. I’m always so happy when you post the next leg of this amazing journey. I love seeing where you go and how you paint there. Over the last couple of years you have inspired me in so many ways to keep going. Take for instance your little round daily paintings at one a day. Oh my goodness what that gave me in inspiration. So this series is just as cool and now I am painting much more regularly as a result of your video encouragement. It’s like your talking just to me. I know it’s not the case but your warm and generous delivery make it seem so. (I am so excited that I can tell you that I am having some work excepted for prints. Little step here.) And it’s thanks to artists like you, who do these epic things, take adventurous walks to scary caves and paint lovely sketches and breathe in the heat as well as the cold. I love your commitment and persistence to these journeys. Scotland looks dreamy, and also quite harsh as well. What a wonder it is to be walking the whole coast of it. It’s a bit like Neil Oliver and his Coast to Coast, (romantic licence taken there), just so much that you are showing us and informing us about as well. Really love this series. Stay safe, cool and hydrated. Looking forward to the next walk. Thank you for sharing.
I am a bedridden former artist, explorer and your videos are bringing me so much joy. Thank you for sharing and the wonderful images that I get to see.
I don't think I've commented much on this series, but I've been watching them all and just wanted to let you know that I'm really enjoying following your journey!
2:14 WOW Sarah... bless your heart for sharing such beautiful underwater images! I could spend hours looking at it and spotting something new each time!
Your hikes are my very favorite thing on YT right now... because I can't. So bless you for sharing. And it's obvious you take great care to share the good and bad and all the details. Much love
I am enjoying your walk, you see and love things l love too. Natures sculpture is abundant in that area, how wonderful. The whole of Scotlands coastline is amazing. Thank you Sarah 😊 Alioban xx
Just magnificent! The way the light bounces off the rocks. Please know the tide schedule as fall approaches. The view of the sunset over the water was incredible. That would make a very nice photo or painting to sell. All those blues and grey's. Feel the pain about your phone..did the same thing several years ago. So fortunate to have that part of your life. The more you share, the more I'd like to visit permanently. Thank you
Nicely done .I can't walk far any more so enjoyed being with you on that hike .The music enhanced the experience .unlike a lot of other vids that are ruined by dreadful music .
Great video, Sarah! I loved the rocky Coastline, tide pools, colors in the water and the lighting was spectacular. I’ve been watching the whole series. Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey with us! I look forward to seeing the next one.
I love this series! It's so enjoyable to explore the coast with you! Also, great music choice for the parts after 18:17, it put me in mind of Lothlorien.
Stunning views at the end of your hike, worth a million dollars, yet free. We really are lucky to be on this planet. Thank you so much for sharing this hiking project with us.
Love following along with your hiking adventure Sarah … what a gorgeous part of Scotland. I hike a lot here in New Zealand but you have inspired me to hike the length of New Zealand over time. Thanks for the wonderful videos and looking forward to the next one☺️
Thank you for sharing your journey. I cracked up when you were trying to take off your shirt, thanks for the chuckle! All the colors of the rocks were amazing!!! Looking forward to your next video!
Episode 5 and I'm still all in :) I'm a many miles hiker by nature and your pace is so different to 'my way of hiking'. You take your time and capture trail moods and details for eternity in your journal that would be blended general impressions in my mind after a days hike. I know there's no best way to hike. So you've inspired me to take a sketch book with me on my next exploit. I'll keep you posted if I manage to sit down and do a sketch. I'm not an artist so it will be a fun? challenge to get out of my comfort zone and try something new :)
I definitely struggle in my mind about whether to “get the miles in” or go slow and be more present in each area. On one hand I love the exercise and getting tired after several miles without stopping. And walking around the entire coast of Scotland before my dying days will require a better pace 🤣 but on the other hand I’m loving the slower pace at these really unique and exciting sections. I guess it’s all still very new and I’ll eventually settle on a good pace.
We absolutely loved this episode. That shore was truly inspiring for my artist wife…and apparently for you too! Hope that you had an enjoyable time in Colorado. Looking forward to the next episode. Thanks
Another lovely hike! Those sea-vistas and rock formations along the beach were stunning. I found myself saying, "Wow!" about the same times you were. And..."Pigeon!" LOL!
Sarah what a fantastic video I love the light at Burghead and the music goes with it, it would make an amazing painting the view overlooking the sea hope your having a great holiday. Looking forward to more videos.
Wow that’s another great section of the hike that looks gorgeous & interesting to explore. Thanks for sharing this wonderful & inspirational video with us.
This was so beautiful Sarah. I especially loved the rock pools. Can you image what history happened in those caves? I think you may need to add a foldable light weight walking stick to your pack (like fishermen use to navigate streams) if you're going to keep rock climbing. It gave me a few scares just watching you. Looking forward to the next hiking trek. As always, thanks for sharing. What wonderful memories you are creating.
You have terrified me several times now with high cliffs, creepy caves that I feel like you will get stuck in or someone or something will jump out of, or the tides will trap you in. But all in all this is a thrilling journey to watch you accomplish. And utterly beautiful. Thank you.
That was so beautiful!! I thoroughly enjoyed that. You are a great photographer as well as excellent artist!!! (I am one of your Patreons by my real name and it is money well spent, lol!).
WOW Sarah! That stretch of your journey was amazing. Those rocks and tunnels! And the light at the end - - no words to describe. I'm sure it was even more beautiful in person. Thanks for these videos. I have been enjoying them so much.
Thank you Sarah for sharing this adventure with us, I used to hike a lot but my spine has got to the stage where I have to use a wheelchair now and I so miss being in the wilds. I now enjoy my hiking vicariously through you and learning how to use watercolour as well. You are an inspiration 💞
@@sarahinscotland We need to make the most of each day as best we can. I'm aiming to do more plein air as I think it will be good for me, as I'm learning my watercolour techniques. Art is a great distraction from chronic pain 😊
So beautiful, Sarah!!! I loved the plant life in the rock pools and ohhhh, the magnificent light at Burghead!!! Such a bonus that it's close to your home! Hope your vacation is going wonderfully!!! Thinking of you & sending hugs 💜
One of the things I love the most besides all the stunning landscapes, is your verbal ramblings! I LOVE THEM! And I love sharing in your adventures and watching you paint them 💞💕💞 The Scottish coastline is beyond gorgeous, so many places for you to explore! Oh, and does using the salty ocean water affect your paints? It doesn't look like it...
I was just thinking about hiking in the mountains and people using walking sticks. Well I reckon this track totally justifies using them. Besides, I believe you can get collapsible ones which you can just tuck away when not needed. Might be worth considering and I reckon you’d feel safer. Thanks for the footage cause it’s so enjoyable and stay safe. 🌲🌿🍂
Hi Sarah thank you for bringing us along this journey ❤ How is your hiking going? I live in the Netherlands and here. The wheather has changed to more rain. I assume your videos are from a few weeks ago? Or is the wheather still so nice in Scotland?
It’s funny…when I’m alone I wish I was sharing the experience with someone. But when I’m not alone, I wish I was 😂 mainly because if I’m alone I don’t worry about how long anything takes.
Loving all your videos right now!! Thinking about driving up to Scotland again here soon, and wondering if there is one place you did that stood out above the rest. We are avid hikers, and have already done skye :) New subscriber

Thank you so much Natasha! It has been really fun and exhausting and inspiring 😄
That final wide shot was just magical.
2:14 WOW Sarah... bless your heart for sharing such beautiful underwater images! I could spend hours looking at it and spotting something new each time!
That’s the main reason I was so slow, I spent ages looking through the rock pools. It’s absolutely fascinating to me!
Your hikes are my very favorite thing on YT right now... because I can't. So bless you for sharing. And it's obvious you take great care to share the good and bad and all the details. Much love

Sarah those last few scenes at Burghead were amazing, and beautifully captured in your sketch.

I think I would have tried to capture the multi hued round, almost candy like rock beach @9:58.

😂 so many jump scares!
What an amazing sunset! I'm glad the weather was cooperative and you enjoyed yourself! :D
It got quite windy and cold at the end, but definitely worth it!
What a stunning coastline! And the light and clouds at Burghead 😍 I almost felt like I was sitting there breathing it all in too! Thanks so much 🙏❤
Sarah what a fantastic video I love the light at Burghead and the music goes with it, it would make an amazing painting the view overlooking the sea hope your having a great holiday. Looking forward to more videos.
Wasn’t that magical! I definitely want to paint that view, with both watercolor (bigger) and gouache
c'est magnifique Sarah, bonjour de France
A wonderful walk with you today. Very sketch worthy shore, great sketch you did.
Yes, must go back to sketch those caves!
