Matt Thurber, AIN’s Editor-in-Chief, joins ferry pilot Gilles Glatz as he flies a brand new Daher TBM 910 from Tarbes, France to Camarillo, California, about 5,400 nautical miles. This is just one of 30 to 40 such trips that a ferry pilot like Gilles takes each year.

I have to admit, if you handed me the keys to a fueled tbm and tasked me with ferrying it
There’d be a strong chance your airplane would disappear in the Bermuda Triangle for a few weeks
I’d come back with a wonderful tan... side effect of the supernatural encounter of course

Those were some longs days, but at least they were spent mostly in the air. It's hard to believe the ferry pilot does this solo most of the time. I hope he has some good music loaded for those really long legs of straight and level flight!

I really enjoyed the flight, the narrator was very pleasant to listen to, he made the flight not so boring, lol. This "Hop, Skip, and a jump" was interesting, especially in a brand new aircraft. I liked the layout of the instrumentation, very friendly. This video deserves more than a little thumbs up so I'm subscribing and ringing the bell too. They didn't fly non-stop because the TBM-910 has a range of around 1700 miles, so they had to land in few places to refuel and get some rest.
