    Thanks for the tips. It's really great that she was able to get her audience involved. Over the past couple of months, I wrote a first draft of my first book. I now need to work on editing & finding appropriate ways to share with my audience. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks again! 😊

    Super ideas! When I started self publishing eight years ago, no one talked about this. Now, too many authors don't want to hear about it. Glad you're spreading the gospel (and benefits) of promotion. :)

    Wow! I'm going to have to think about how to involve people in the process. This strategy has a lot of great ideas behind it. I suspect there will be many ways to adapt them to individual situations.

    FB groups can be very effective. To support kids stuck at home, I've set up a FB group to crowd source a poetry book for children mainly written by children. The idea is to give the kids something different to do, writing a poem, illustrating it and helping with proofreading and beta reading each others work to support the publishing process. The books will be sold in aid of local charities.
    It's got over 80 members so far, in a day. And a couple of people have asked if it's OK for them to set up their own local groups, one in UK and one in Texas!

      What a wonderful idea. Honestly I am really struggling with my three year old at home right now. He's not quite old enough to take part in a lot of the great online offerings for kids so most of the things he does require adult participation.

    Whoa, you're right! Smashing that thumbs up does make me feel good!
    She was smart making the Facebook group. I know lots of people who are doing great with them.
    I wish I could sit like that still. Both my ankles were protesting just by me seeing it. Attempting it would be torture, I think. Oh, to be young again! For me, that would be 18. I destroyed my right ankle at 19.

    • @BookLaunchers
      @BookLaunchers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HAHAHA yes - thanks for trying the thumbs up button. I accidentally deleted Dale's comment today ... so apparently all my enthusiastic motions have made me trigger happy. OOPS.
      She does a lot of Yoga. I don't like sitting like that either ... although my ankles aren't destroyed. What did you do?

    • @Drathaar01
      @Drathaar01 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BookLaunchers I zigged when I should have zagged and my ankle hit a curb the wrong way. We were running in formation (Navy) and I was road guard. So I had to run ahead at street crossings, stop traffic, then run to catch up with my company after they crossed the street.
      My foot hit the curb sideways while I was sprinting. So, my right foot's big toe was pointed straight left when it hit. Instand ouch. I got an internal brace right before I moved to Ukraine.
      I think Dale will forgive you. Especially with an oh so soft journal 😊

    Julie! Great vid, as usual!
    Question: I was planning to start running ads this month until my self publish launch this summer. Will this covid/ quarantine situation ruin my marketing efforts? Should I wait?

    • @BookLaunchers
      @BookLaunchers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Test it out! I think online ads are working really well right now but the messaging has to be appropriate to the current environment. I am going to talk about this today at 12pm PST here on a livestream.
