- One of the best book promotion strategies is to pitch yourself for media appearances. Getting yourself on TV, radio, newspapers or podcasts can be a great book marketing boost for your brand and your book. Book publicity isn't as simple as sending a press release out to a media list though. That can get you links but nothing else. In this video, Julie Broad of Book Launchers explains how to research media outlets for your pitch, what a great media pitch looks like, and how to follow up to get your book promotion boost from that media appearance.

Great information! I was going to buy a coaching system for $11k to help me get earned media, until I went to research and found so much more, such as yourself Julie! Thank you! I also found a great Book from Liz Kelly that gives so many tips as well from her PR career... I can't wait to get to the point in which I make the time to read it... Thank you again for a wonderful video. This is one place I am struggling to do well. I was taken back with doing 20 pitches a week. I am not even close to that number 😩. Need to find a better way to manage my full-time job and my book marketing 😄. I feel that I am practicing my pitch at work so maybe it will help me get my confidence up. The percent is even higher than that ... although some of the paid services will post your press release online so it results in backlinks to your websites. That has a bit of value but they don't result in exposure ever.

I'm thinking about making my wholesale discount 60%. The reason I'm doing so is because I'm creating my book to help others and I want as many people to be able to afford it as possible.
Do you think this is a good idea? Or should I keep it at 55? With 60% give me a competitive edge?
60% won't give you an edge with wholesalers ... it's also not possible to set it any higher than 55% with Ingram.
