Wolves are my favorite animal. I got to see a wolf pack in Yellowstone last year and hear them howl. Each wolf’s personality is different and I love that. But you can’t keep them as a pet. Dogs have a lot of the same traits as wolves and are a much better option for a pet. Tamaskans are great because they make great pets and it reminds me of my favorite animal. Wish to have one someday!
I get comments all the time that my dog looks like a wolf or a coyote. I Always joke and say Saarloos Wolfdog because she is the spitting image and too big for a coyote at 65 pounds Now I wonder if she is Tamaskan.
What they wont they you is when not given enough attention they will try to digg holes in your house or bite on your cougch or table. Anyhow if you do not have a lot of free time to train this breed you will have a quite hard time and a lot of sounds and broken furniture😮
anyone knows if a tamaskan dog can be sheep clean.is it possible to learn them to not run after sheep.because in my area of norway we have 25 thousand sheep,and if a farmer see a dog running after sheep he will most likely shoot the dog???
Sau er ofte bare ute når det er båndtvang. Om du skal gå med hund fritt i nærheten av sau (spesielt en som ser ut som ulv) så må du ha full kontroll over hunden ikke 99% kontroll men 100% så bør du også ha refleks dekken. Om en bonde ser noe som ser ut som ulv så kan det være at de skyter først. Om du ikke vet hvordan å trene en hund å holde seg borte fra husdyr så bør du hvertfall ikke skaffe deg en tamaskan.

They started breeding them in the early 1980s. their life expectancy is more like 16 years and these dogs are very healthy in general.

Are they good guard dogs?
from what i’ve read, probably not. The Tamaskan isn’t usually an aggressive dog, especially not after they’ve been properly socialized.

My tamaskan wolf-dogs are littermate female puppies. But, they do have 18% grey wolf. They’re 55 and 65 pound 1 year old girls.

Husky or wolfspitz but not for first time owner. These dogs are very intelligent and stubborn and energetic as well.

That's pretty much every dog. If you want an animal you don't have to exercise, you either want a senior dog or a cat.

Yes, Tamaskans were bred to be domestic dogs that had a wolf-like appearance. Most people don’t really know about the breed tho.
All domestic dogs come from wolves. Talking about a dog without wolf content is nonsense.
