    Mike, please do another video demonstrating this technique. The lighting made it difficult to see the full results. Please share your thoughts on how well the repair looked in person. Thanks!

    Nice job. I was going to do a body shop respray. The Shoe Polish method gave me hope I can DIY this!

    How do I get another lint-free cloth like the one that comes in the kit? Or is there a substitute of another very similar type fabric?

    How should I prep the nose of my car that I used Dr Beasley's 1201 sealant on, because that needs to come off first?

    How about clear coat "craters" after bird poop? Do you have stuff for that?

    Wipe off right after you apply or its very hard to get excess off without removing paint from chip .

    Why pick out a color by eye, why not order the exact paint # from the tag on the car? Then it's the right color match. I'm confused about that part?

      That's the commercial kit for professional use. It has a lot of different colors in a kit to pick from so you can choose one that's close. It would be easier to order the color if you're only doing your car not every car at a dealership

    Excellent video for those of us with older cars that have many chips!
    So many well-meaning videos providing bad 411. "Cotton wiping cloth"; "Dab onto chip" "rubber gloves" ....NOT

    Is there a problem apply a ultimate polish on that, or some wax from meguiars? Or can I just use pure carnauba wax on that? I mentioned meguiars because I know they paste wax is not body shop safe. Hugs

    Been trying trying to get this stuff to work for ages and honestly I’ve just had no luck. I wish it worked as advertised but it just doesn’t. Go to a panel shop and save your time and sanity.

      I totally agree. Every time I try to fix single chips with their methods it pulls the paint right out of the chip again when you’re wiping it off. No matter how short or long I let it dry. After screwing around with it for hours, you’re right back where you started at if you’re lucky. This doesn’t work at all.

    will the paint come off when you compound or polish?

    • @autogeek
      @autogeek  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're supposed to compound and polish the paint BEFORE fixing the rock chips and then moving forwards wash and dry your car carefully so you don't have to compound again in the future.

      @Innovative Auto Sorry for bringing this up now. They recommend 30 days before buffing. In your experience, do think two weeks in a 50-60 degree ish weather is a good enough time to cure?

    You cannot eyeball paint! If it has metallics? Forget it!
