Yup, same issue with my 1982 CB650. Dried out "o" rings whilst working on carbs etc. Just left the fuel in contact via a similar fuel feed line on the bench for several days and all ended up dry. No further work needed and carbs now been on a running bike for over a year - no leaks.
I had a definite leak at all my rail joints on my 78' GS750/850 but thankfully I had expected it and put a plastic lined legal envelope under the carbs so it saved the fresh paint long enough for the seals to swell up again. Great as video as always! you helped me so much in the last year since I bought this project bike👍
Thanks for watching. These ones have the seal molded into the plastic tubes/T, so purchasing the seals only wouldn't do the trick. Perhaps US EPA and UK equivalent agency had differing regulations at the time. Hello from LA.
I just did 6 carbs on my Honda Valkyrie and runs like new but one carb is leaking gas real bad, wish I would have benched tested them, back off again, thanks for the video
I had a similar problem, because I put the lines the wrong way round, had my carbs cleaned out,new jets, all new o rings, only for a problem with the fuel tap,it woul run really well on prime, but not good on run,
Was it my imagination, or did the fuel level in the filter drop over the 15min and the 10min period. It looked like it to me - so where did it go ??? Could that much have simply evaporated out of the filter ??? I won't bore you but I've just been through a nightmare run with a ZRX1200R that had sat for years - and those carbies are mongrels to get out. Had same thing though - rebuilt carbs leaked at first, but next day it was gone. Thanks for the vid, Steve.
Yes it dropped. I believe I mention in the video that air pockets likely settled out. That's my theory. The towel stayed completely dry. I stayed there and watched during the wait periods. Thanks for watching!

You're experience is is not uncommon. The seals tend to reseal after sitting "wet" a while. Thanks for watching!

That was a good idea on your part! Thanks!
As always..great video! There's something relaxing about watching you operate :) you're very methodical, and a "professor" for all us GS owners !!
Wow, thanks! Kind, generous words.
Great video as always UM! I actually enjoy how detailed you get on things. Can't wait to see it done!
Thanks for watching!
A guy on eBay UK sells new seals for these mikuni round slide carbs😉

6 is a lot, but what a fun ride when you get them sorted.

Which one of your videos shows how to remove the rotor to get at the starter clutch ? Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I'm sorry, I made this series so long ago I honestly don't remember. I don't even recall if I had the rotor off the crankshaft.
@@UrbanMonkTV Ok, thanks anyway.
I regret not having found this video before assembling my bike 😂😭
Well, thanks for watching. I tell myself to enjoy the journey, even if I've been down a road before.
@@UrbanMonkTV Totally. It's all part of the learning process for me. 😎 Cheers! 🍻
