I've destroyed so many of those toy drones that I seriously lost count. Of course, that was before I got my MA2 and A2S. Some of those were interesting, and so is this one. Thanks for sharing Steve. 👍👍👍
Captain, the correct way to test optical flow hold is: Place the drone over a floor with clear differential patterns, or a helipad, make sure the floor is well lit. Place the drone ( fly there ) over the object it should hover over, 1 - 1.5 meters above the object. See if the drone will lock into a position at all ( with no controller inputs ). If it does seem to lock onto a position then give it a slight nudge ( emphasis on slight ) to see if it will resist going off its locked on position ( when no controller inputs are given ). If it does noticeably resist ( emphasis on noticeably ) then it passed the test for the presence of ANY optical flow capabilities. Even if weak. But at least the presence of something is proven without room for doubt then. Your indoor flight test of this drone displayed no SURE indication of any optical flow hold abilities. Looked like any old altitude hold-only drone flying through the house. Two of my toy grade drones with bottom cameras fail all tests for optical flow capabilities even when the adverts said they have optical flow abilities. My old AR Drone shows strong optical flow abilities under many conditions - even less than ideal conditions. I bought one of these E88s cheapies and will test it myself of course - once received. In the interim it would be great if you would be willing to prove or disprove the actual true presence of optical flow capabilities of this drone in a video ( disregarding the impact it might make on sales or the impression of your IQ - we all make mistakes..). Truth is worth more than money in my opinion.
I think the price is right for a toy drone. A great gift for a kid or someone who wants exposure to the world of drones. Better than my first experience with flying one. Good review, fun too. 👍👍😀

Hello Captain. Such a nice little drone for the price indeed. From the looks of it, when looking at your video when you fly, the bottom camera of this drone does not do any actual effective optical flow hold - do I have it right ? ( only the altitude hold works ).
You may have missed something in understanding the video. The bottom camera is OPTICAL FLOW… It requires bright light on the ground, and there must be a pattern on the ground that it can look at and then use that to hold its position.
Remember that button I pushed in the vid to calibrate. Also this is not a GPS drone so it will drift indoors due to wind off the walls and insufficient bright light on the floor. Outdoors it will drift with the wind. These drones are simple to operate for kids as young people have excellent hand/eye coordination. Practice a bit and you’ll quickly have the hand/eye coordination to fly and not continuously crash.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks for the reply.I fly it in-doors in a very bright light. In most cases when it drifts to the right, if i turn the right stick full to the left it only slows a bit the drifting to the nearest wall!

Hello Captain, What is the fly away potential of this nice brushless cheapy drone ? IE. What happens when out of range ? And what happens when battery is to low to maintain any more flight ? When you tested yours did you ever get any "controller stuck" activity ? Or wrong controller command activity.
If out of range, the drone either lands or hovers in air waiting for you to walk closer. Will it fly away? There is no GPS in it, so the answer is NOPE. Should you buy at least 5 of them for Christmas? Yes, of course. Enjoy!
@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the info Captain. I have a toy drone which sometimes freezes like a computer with a software glitch. If it happens while flying right it will keep going right even when out of range. I had to go seek it a couple of times. I still have it. But if it ever froze in an up movement I would probably never find it again. For a drone to fly away does not require a GPS. Sometimes it only requires being a crappy drone LOL. I am sure you know that... You dream of more money. You have plenty Captain. When is it enough ? Relax take a nice break and rethink life before timeout...
Hello Captain Steve, I received one of these S88E drones. This particular one needs level calibration from a well leveled service EACH time before takeoff else it will not fly straight. ( repeat: EACH time - without exception ) It does not store/remember the calibration. Is it just mine ? Do you have to level calibrate yours often or each time before takeoff ? If you are willing to comment on that I would appreciate it.
Hello, please note that I don’t keep such drones after review. I just buy them for fun because they are inexpensive, so I buy them, show them to the world, then give them away locally.
I bought this one to play with my 3 yos boy. He was so excited watching it fly around and trying to push it forward backward. However on our third flight, I tried to raise its altitude to about 10 meters. The boy was super excited untill a gust of wind blew it away. I watch them all but know I can't drop 4 to 500 bucks right now. Thanks a lot.
Unfortunately nothing comes to mind at the moment that is worth its value. You’d have to jump up to at least $200 US to be somewhat happy (like the Faith Mini (first version) at 2.7k resolution). th-cam.com/video/rUF73LxVarc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yuyne-LtLlwnHttf
If you want something with these features, and I mean exactly these features, with GPS, you can get an L900. They tend to be the cheapest GPS drones and I have found that the GPS function is pretty solid on mine. Shows on the map, RTH works, but everything else is the same level of... meh... as this. The flight time is short, the camera is terrible, the camera connection range is poor, no SD card slot. The Rx Drone app might even be worse than this one, but I haven't found a $100ish CAD GPS drone that doesn't use Rx Drone. As Steve said though, it really isn't worth the extra money as it provides no real camera drone capability so it's only really a trainer and you might as well just buy this one, learn on it and get a real drone afterwards. I have yet to see a mid range drone that serves any purpose bridging the gap between a drone like this/a mini indoor drone like the HS210 for learning and a real drone like the Fimi/CFly/Potensic or used DJI Mini.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 fully charged the battery, and the remote connects to the drone, but it keeps blinking and one key take off is working n is very difficult to control. Could this mean I received a defective product?
😀Probably OK for close by flying, get it to any distance and it might wander off never to return, I've had 3 sub £50 do this, only affordable drone that does not do this (well used to be affordable, getting rarer now) is the Bugs Series, Bugs 3,3mini , 2 and Bugs 6. Bugs are reliable.
funny how cheap this technology is now. Sure it does not have any fancy technology, but for 20 bucks is a fully functional drone with camera that actually can record something
You should have flown it way higher while having the camera pointed lower to show what kind of aerial photography it can do. For inspecting more than just a small part of your roof at once, taking an interesting albeit low-res image of the neighborhood for example. There's little point flying the drone to just ten meters, especially with that camera FoV ! Don't treat it just as a toy, try give it a real test of its capability.
Ha ha… for $21 I think I put in more effort into this video than this budget drone deserves. I’ll leave it up to the thousands who will buy this for pure enjoyment to film their places of interest.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Yea well that's my whole point, you put plenty of work to this video so the core part of showing the limits of the drone while providing its own footage should never be left out. Leave any other part out in place of it if needed. Providing the raw data is the most important part in drone reviews, even if lower effort, because it provides the viewers capability to determine things about the device the reviewer might not even have understood or appreciated themselves. Saying "go buy it and test it yourself" negates the whole point of your channel so I'll take it as just a brain fart. I do not mean ill will, I bought a Fimi X8 based partially on your reviews which provided the relevant footage while also going through the features not as descriptions but as demonstrations. I get that filming outside during the winter pressures you to try to compensate for lack of demos with other content, but I'd think if you to tested the limits immediately before doing anything else or running low on battery would be better appreciated instead of trying to fit in larger number of lower-value anecdotes. Now this review kind of leaves me seeking for any other review with 1/10 the work put in to it to just see the actual capabilities.
day 3 asking captain drone for free fvp drone with long range and long flight time i hope you see me and im 12 years old :) i cant buy a drone your only my hope thanks!😊
Oh God, I was expecting someone out there to post a such silly comment and out of the hundreds of comments you won the prize. Everyone knows the limitations of this drone but there is nothing else on the market as good for $21 US. This is the drone you buy to teach yourself how to fly indoors/outdoors BEFORE you buy the $1000 DJI drone. How did you miss that?????
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 how did I miss that? I'll tell you how. In June of 2017 I bought my first drone. It was a mavic pro. I didn't need a junky drone to learn on. I hate to break it to you Steve, but drones are EXTREMELY easy to fly. You pull two sticks down to start the motors. Then you push up on the left stick to go up. It's that simple. Turning, and moving forward, backward, and to the side, are just as easy. How is flying a mavic camera drone hard?
@@shb7772000if Yes for some, flying a drone requires no use of brain cells which is why DJI designs all their drones for beginners (first time pilots). For others however, it is not only a challenge to fly a drone but also out of reach financially in most countries, hence the reason the NON DJI drones at budget prices are even more popular internationally then DJI drones themselves.
"...anyone who has more than one brain cell doesn't use bottom camera..." LOL ! :-))) ...and with refined humor it is explained! Overall, in this video we forget that we are in front of a "salesperson" and it seems like we are in front of a Professor ! Can I make a suggestion...? Thinking so, here goes: the Captain could remove one of those brushless motors and disassemble it. Using the different metals required €30 does not pay for just one engine. Have the Chinese already invented new composite materials? ...that replace metal?-)) -Disassemble 1 and then make a video...educational! Best regards, thank you
In my experience, these non GPS drones that rely on a magnetic compass sensor maintain mag compass calibration for the first 10 seconds or until you've yawed around more than 3 rotations. What that means is that on almost every occasion the Return-to-Home button will merely activate the Fly-to-Hell feature and "way point" flight will send it on a magical mystery tour that ends in somebody's face.😅 It's a joke. Don't even imagine that this drone isn't going to fly away from you first chance it gets. The 1S battery = low power = low wind resistance = breeze make go bye-bye. It's still a good deal for $21 but the automatic features are pure pie-in-the-sky.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Ok, that's even worse. It's relying on the 6-axis gyro to keep track of it's orientation then. According to Bangood, it has low-battery RTH. That's not gonna happen! Test it. Test it after giving it plenty of yaw-spins.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 So what do you think the repercussions for Banggood should be for putting this in the Specifications: "Draw a flight path on the screen, the drone will fly autonomously along the specified path. - Way-point Flight: Plan your flying route by drawing the dots on the built-in map on the App, recording beautiful scenery along the route. - Point of Interest: Select a building or location and click it on the map of App. The drone could continue to fly clockwise around this specific building or location, presenting a comprehensive image. - Return to Home: It will always returns automatically whenever Battery is low, Signal is lost or You press one key return. - 2.4GHz anti-interference technology. - 4 channels for ascent, descent, forward, backward, left flight, right flight and 360°roll. - Six-axis gyroscope, smoother flight and more convenient control."

I just bought it today, and when i tried to calibrate the drone lights keep blinking. What to do?
blinking lights means:
- Low Battery; or
- You have not connected your remote or phone (which means you are doing something wrong).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 fully charged the battery, and the remote connects to the drone, but it keeps blinking and one key take off is working n is very difficult to control. Could this mean I received a defective product?
@@Dhandestinyif it blinks while you fly it normally means low battery
How far that drone can fly(distance/range)
Please watch the video. The flight distance is mentioned.
Mi control no se vincula con el dron
finally, I’m early to at least one TH-cam video
hey yo capt drone I got my stickers! thank you sir! planning to put it on my nitro rc trucks. and mavic mini (the first mini)
Excellent! Glad they arrived.
Bugs are reliable.
lol so true. Someone will buy this thinking it will be comparable to the DJI Mini 4 Pro for a fraction of the price lol 😂
Guaranteed!
Where's the beard?
what happened to you gladiator ?
The blue car is my wife’s care
My camera on my potensic atom looks better than that one, nice video.
The Potensic Atom has a super good camera!
Haha -"I'm Steve and I'm a Drone Pilot" & " I've crashed it 100 times already" Mmmm - Don't take up passenger plane flying will you Steve.... 🤣
Does this drone can fly with insta360 Go?) 😂
Yes
Bhai Indian currency
funny how cheap this technology is now. Sure it does not have any fancy technology, but for 20 bucks is a fully functional drone with camera that actually can record something
Start off with a Vivitar Skyview or phx these r a waste of cash 💸
Is the vivitar $21 with brushless motors?
24 seconds after posting the video, and I am not first~!
I am 😈
Yes proly
That seems a little pricey,😂
I want for free please tomorrow 😢
few hour of you video out and price have raised lolll.... those are scam hahaha
I’m told the $21 US price is to remain until sometime in February
day 3 asking captain drone for free fvp drone with long range and long flight time i hope you see me and im 12 years old :) i cant buy a drone your only my hope thanks!😊
Good drone if you want a piece of junk. The frame rate looked low too.
Hi captain drone do you mind sending a Fpv drone to me since my parents won’t give it to me so I’m asking you for help
"...anyone who has more than one brain cell doesn't use bottom camera..." LOL ! :-)))
...and with refined humor it is explained!
Have the Chinese already invented new composite materials? ...that replace metal?-))
-Disassemble 1 and then make a video...educational!
Best regards, thank you
I think I’d be more creative and stencil DJI on the motor and then it will sell in the millions! 😂
31.00 dollars canadian. 6.00 dollars shipping is a good deal?
There is no magnetic compass. You are thinking of drones much more costly than $21
@@CAPTAINDRONE798
Ok, that's even worse. It's relying on the 6-axis gyro to keep track of it's orientation then. According to Bangood, it has low-battery RTH. That's not gonna happen! Test it. Test it after giving it plenty of yaw-spins.
@@7MPhonemicEnglishit has low battery notification for sure, but for $21 it has no idea where home is.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798
So what do you think the repercussions for Banggood should be for putting this in the Specifications:
"Draw a flight path on the screen, the drone will fly autonomously along the specified path.
For $21- not bad.
