Hello I am enjoying your videos of where the old rail stations used to be. We enjoy going on steam trains around Victoria and enjoy seeing Melbourne’s inner outer and regional areas.
Great video! Well presented! The ‘ Warby rail trail’ is My fav place!! As a runner I run along the trail a lot. I’ve run from Wandin to Warburton a few times!
It's good to see the memorabilia at each station, from just the name at least to some really substantial installations at others culminating in the excellent mural at Warbie. Back in 1970, with my schoolmate, we planned to hike the right of way, which was quite overgrown by then and a number of the bridges over creeks unsafe. It would have required 3 days/2 nights back then for the retirn trip from Lillydale. Unfortunately my mate got sick and we never got to do it. Looks a lot easier now!
Awesome Video! I'm from Melbourne, now living in the UK and I'm really enjoying your content. It makes me feel like I'm back at home. I rode on bike the Warburton Rail Trail back in 2020 and it was great to see so much rail history preserved! Good to learn about it a little more in detail. Keep up the great work mate!
This is s really nicely filmed and narrated video. I have walked some Rail Trails and they go through some really great Country, Brisbane Valley Line, Murwullimbah to Crabs Creek, Kingston on a stretch of the old Beaudesert Line, ""Please Forgive any spelling errors as my spell check has gone looney '". Along each of these former track systems you find collectable items that you thought would have been taken away, Old Semaphore Signals, Station Signs and Points Levers some Singular and some Multiple and if you can find out if you can take them which has been the answer yes go for it, so we Collect, Restore and we found other items including Lanterns, Old Right of Way Message (Metal) Holders and do much other, Catalogued it, Took Photos of these and sent to Rail to Ensure it was all ok, Most of it found its way into Ipswich Rail Museum after Restoration and that makes myself happy, This is why following your Videos are not just Great to watch a bygone era but Educational as Well. Really well done as mentioned, narrated and hope to see many more from yourself about our forgotten Rail Networks, The funny thing is that a lot of areas now ripped up are under Reconsideration for s back flip on Rail links as our population gets push into those areas but without doubt will be Far better designed but just seems odd ! , yep rip it up from the them being the Authorities only to now have it put back again, I know a few systems that once existed including one i live not to far away being the Ferny Grove - Samford - Dayboro old system which could go back as well as Kingaroy from Gympie, Rockhampton to Yepoon i a straighter format as those i Mentioned Above and Brand New Systems including Rumours at this time being a Velocity type service between Broadband -
Nice video mate. I have been to Warburton before great little town. Didn't visit the rail trail unfortunately but It may be something I do for the future. May also take a visit to the Yarra Junction museum and the Carriage Café will make for a great day out.
The poor Warburton line no so much killed off by falling traffic ( the railcars could have kept going ) nor by improving roads and car ownership BUT y political lobbying by the local BUS COMPANY 😊
I was going to say before cutting myself off a Rumoured return to Passenger Trains using Velocity Units between Brisbane - Ipswich - Toowoomba, Every one knows that the Population Growth and the Push out West in any state is a Prime Candidate for Renewed Rail Infrastructure Projects could come about in terms of Freight be it Bulk or General + Passenger. Best Regards on a Great Sight.
Absolutely correct. And that still goes on today with road freight companies and all the B Doubles destroying our roads while railways become trails for the latte sippers.

@@Victorian_steam I gave you then benefit of the doubt and thought you said 'D' for the ZD- all VR guards vans being designated Z something.
