Ten was a good year for Angelina, she had shed any remnant of a child's voice & she sounded like a seasoned adult professional singer. She produced several Masterpiece performances that year, this being one of them.

Always a pleasure to have another knowledgeable, and expressive communicator like Paolo reacting to our surprising young genius. By now, most of us ‘Angels’ listen to her with the accrued benefit of several serious and highly knowledgeable reactors. They’ve helped us so much to grapple with the question of how Angelina moves us so strongly. And yet, testifying again to the depth and complexity of her still-developing talent, we realize there is still more to be gleaned about her nuance of interpretation, the refined details of her instrument, and her disciplined use of it. Thanks for that, Paolo. Hopefully you will give us many more such responses - there is still a great treasure of material for you to discover.
The majority of my musical experience and passion has been and still is the 'serious,' 'classical,' 'concert hall' elements of the art. While not at all ignorant of other forms and artists, I’ve never had such open delight in exploring so many of them as find now with the motivation that Angelina inspires. What a multi-faceted gift she is. There is much darkness abroad all over the world and as we pick our way through, illumination is spotty. I am grateful to her for never failing to demonstrate that we can still be proud of our humanity. She helps us see and hear what we can accomplish; and in these times, more importantly, makes us feel positively about what it means to be human.
Beyond the music, I'm always struck by the sheer presence Angelina creates. Here it is at age 10 on a rooftop in Oslo - a charismatic human being with that force of personal impact some individuals are able to project. Some focus that beam on the exploitation of our worst fault lines. Some smaller number seem to seek out our best tendencies and aspirations. Angelina is certainly one of the latter, and we are fortunate to be alive to experience the deep intentions of her art and her person.

Hello again❤ It hurts my soul to see that I am only the second person to comment after 4 hours. With that being said, thanks a million for an absolutely to notch reaction to this performance. In my mind you touched upon all the major takeaways here, from her timing to her stellar voice and breath control, particularly in the deeper register. Your comments on the jazz influence and style were absolutely on point. This was actually recorded the day before she left for the US for the first time, to prepare for the move to Los Angeles that happened when she was 12 years old. Maybe THAT was what she was thinking about when she performed the song 😊
If you want to react to one of my absolute favourites by her, then react to her performance of "You Say" originally by Lauren Daigle. The song was the last performance on her live, digital Christmas concert on December 23rd 2021, when she was 15 years old. She performed the song as a thanks to her fans. The whole performance is ABSOLUTELY beautiful ❤

Thanks for your reaction. Angelina was 10 years old and about to depart on a trip to the USA so this song was appropriate. Her vocals are beyond beautiful.
The trip to the US was to be an extended stay as the family prepared for their permanent move the following year. So she was saying goodbye to Olso, Norway, her home. A proper motivation for this emotional rendition of the song.

@@andyschnell58 Can't believe you would be asking me. I rely on you for answers. I'm making assumptions. Assume the family would need to look for schools, houses, visit labels and producers plus make legal arrangements for resident status. Also assume Michael had done preliminary research well before the 2016 visit. What we don't actually know would fill a book. Maybe someone will write it one day.

Until Angelina, I knew absolutely nothing about this beautiful country other than it had fiords. Since Angelina, I can't get enough about this beautiful country and its amazing talent pool. I love the song and the poignancy it carries in her wonderful and loving heart when she sings it here at that moment in time. As with all things Angelina, I cry. I will never get used to being so touched by one individual simply being.

Una bambina di 10 anni (ma se ne avesse 8 o 9 o 11 con lei era lo stesso), che in perfetta autonomia ha così tanta sensibilità e intelligenza musicale da ricalibrare una canzone come questa e farlo in modo così perfetto in una ripresa all'aperto sul tetto della stazione televisiva, accurato, dolce, molto morbido, equilibrato e, ancor di più, è semplicemente irreale. Vista la location in cui viene registrato lo spettacolo, potremmo dire che la sua voce è sicuramente già vicina al paradiso. Lei è veramente unica, quasi impossibile da descrivere, ma meravigliosa, sempre.❤🧡💛
