The great mystery with Angelina, how she can evoke so much emotion without having lived the experiences in the song. The fact that she is reading the lyrics and only needed one take, with no practice, is mind blowing.
I look back at all these performances by young Angelina and not only am I impressed by her ability but I see her willingness and desire to tackle the songs she did was exercise that has resulted in an ability to use her voice in a way unlike most with a depth and variety and texture and emotion that makes her unique.
One take and done! Such talent is unmatched! Egil is a family friend and has been doing jam sessions with Angelina from 8-12 years old while in Norway! They got together again while Angelina was in Jordan doing a private event, and again shortly after the release of her EP, doing a short of Diamond! You have to understand in these sessions Angelina would pick a song and Egil would get the chords and off they go!
I’d literally melt if she sang this again now! One day she may sing this for a person she’s fallen for..we’ve so much to look forward to, it’s almost incomprehensible..what a joy ❤️
The guitarist is Egil Clausen who played with Angelina from age 8 to 11 - when she moved to the US on a more permanent basis - However, they have gotten together and have played since that time as well.
Simply 11 years of incredible perfection! The voice, the musical intelligence, the elegance of the performances are the hallmark of this unique singer. She is absolutely emotional, unreal, unique, she is music, she is Angelina! 💛🧡❤
Hello again! Thanks for a great reaction, and thanks for checking this one out. Angelina was 11 years old here, and not completely familiar with the lyrics, as per so many times in this kind of recording and setting. You can see her checking the lyrics on her tablet, and you can even hear at one point that she actually had to turn the screen on again; you can hear the click. And you're absolutely right in that she unintentionally switched up the verses. She gave a very specific look in the end, which you commented on as well. I think it was Angelina feeling slightly embarrassed by the mistake 🙂In the beginning, before I realized that she mixed the verses, I interpreted her look as being a little embarrassed by the song and the lyrics she had just performed. I'm gonna suggest a performance by her that I don't think you will get a lot of suggestions for, but it is one that you REALLY should react to. You simply will not believe your ears, trust me on that. I'm talking about her performance of "I Will Survive", originally by Gloria Gaynor. Angelina was TEN years old, and she sounds almost indistinguishable from the original, voice wise. It is absolutely amazing. The video has no footage of her actually singing it, but there is a collage of pictures of her which is very well made. I will try to add a link in a reply to this post. I am really enjoying your Angelina journey, I think you do an excellent job. And the cool part is that you've heard absolutely nothing yet. I really mean that 🙂 Take care and stay safe. Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
I agree there is a look of slight embarrassment and feel it may be related to the emotions evoked by the song and its content. Whichever it is one of my favourites with Egil's accompaniment.
@@wildwood3031 Yeah, mine too. She navigates the negative space so beautifully. What she did there is NOT easy, any singer will acknowledge as much. She is an incredible singer and human being.
You are all reading volumes into looks :-) Personally I would not be surprised if the mixing of the verses was intentional. Also as a singer it is nice to have the lyrics are hand, not because you need it, but as a comfort crutch. Not saying I'm right but you are wrong, just giving an alternative view :-)
I'll give that Gaynor song a go for sure. It's another classic in its own right! With the lyric change, at first I was wondering if they were going to skip the last verse altogether, or change it up somehow. When she started singing it, for a split second I was afraid it might even make me feel a little uncomfortable hearing a girl that young singing that line, but it didn't - and it just goes to show this song was written in an age where lyrics could reference these type of things and still have a level of purity that you just would never find in today's lyrics.
She did these performances generally in 1 take with her two guitarists guitarist Egil Clausen in Norway (here) and Ivan Mendez in LA. They both said she likes to do songs in one take without rehearsal, generally any mistakes were theirs. Not infrequently you can see her glancing down at her phone or ipad or off camera at a monitor looking at the lyrics between verses. Incredibly she is putting so much emotion into these songs, communicating with the guitarist, rearranging the song in real time all while reading the lyrics. If you are curious there are interviews with Egil and Ivan done by Alan Papier an Agelina fan.
Crazy for an 11 year old to be able to sing this song with so much knowledge and power. Let's give her another 15 years and see what happens in her performance. Her vocal talent is immeasurable, and she's impeccable in so many ways. The little runs are great, but I will say sometimes that seems to me like an escape, as a singer, from what is a very simple, but very difficult melody to sing without much embellishment. She has the instrument to do it. She's amazing. Well done, Angelina!
Mesmerizing! The depth of emotion from this child is dumbfounding. There are million dollar superstars who couldn't do this in one take like Angelina did.
A top exec at Stargate said he knew of only three singers who could produce a 'production ready' song in 'one take', and they are Beyonce, Sam Smith..............and Angelina.
I would add an artist named Ren to that list, although his music isn't for everyone. If you want to see a recent example of his one-take studio-level mastery, search TH-cam for "Ren Fred Again Mashup", where he takes 5 EDM songs and plays them in his apt living room on an acoustic guitar in what for me (and many others) is a very emotional performance (not what I expected from an EDM mashup).
She often gets some of the words wrong in these "live at home" covers (as I call them). But she sounds so friggin' good as she does it that it doesn't matter.😊
Angelina knows the perfection produced by Roberta Flack singing this song and stays 'spot on' with Roberta's version in this casual 'at home' production with her friend Egil on guitar.
I think a couple of the looks were because she got the lyrics slightly wrong so it was a he knew, she knew moment. That said it could not be more beautiful. I think she was 11 here but more educated Angels can correct that if needed. Nice reaction thanks.
Just remember that English is her 2nd language and she sometimes phrases words differently. As she gets older it gets better. You are no where near close to reacting to all of her videos at this age or younger or older. Hope you enjoy! Nice reaction, as usual!!

If the title is correct... Angelina was singing with Egil at 7: th-cam.com/video/HElLjYs3k5Q/w-d-xo.html
One take , no sound manipulation, just Angelina's voice, guitar and a mic. ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s mixed though. But I don’t know what you mean with sound manipulation. It’s beautiful performances anyway 👍

Angelina is just the best to ever have arrived in the music industry.
Just like her mentor Billie Holiday, she is the reigning 'Queen Of Jazz & Blues'.
