There already is creation tools like this availeble. Such as portal 2 infinite testing inititive, gta v level maker, unity 5 editor and many more. You can make your own levels and games if you want.
Jonnet But these are level creators.They won't allow me to build a entire game in it.Sure,you can make gamemodes in it but you won't create anything familiar to Dreams.Dreams allows you to make exactly EVERYTHING.From games to art to movies to animation to your games.
this is going to be insane, the little big planet community already blew my expectations with what they could create in a side scroller platformer, now imagine this, people will probably recreate whole games

You'd have to do it in segments with connecting portals, a full map would be way too big for dreams to build, it doesn't have segmented loading like open world games have. A good example would be resident evil 1-, going from location to location had to be done through loading screens, this will be the same, from the look of it the build size is still pretty big, just not on the open world level.
I can see myself being completely absorbed in this game for months creating levels for people and recording gameplay on it as well hope the beta comes out soon
i like the leveldesign of john... and liked his livestreams of dreams... also the new demo gameplay from the psx on the twitch channel... it's very cool, that he has become a real molecule... he seems to have a lot of joy with the tools of dreams... great game... no....it's awesome!
Since there's no family Kart racing game on the ps4, Dreams is going to be that game I will spend properly an entire year to build up a PS Allstar kart game.
The sheer fact that, anyone, can literally make *A N Y* game, animation, art or even just goof around and play other stuff is just groundbreaking, breathtaking even. All because MM literally sold their fans and audience their own game engine and the tools to make games as the point in dreams. Brilliant!

I literally played a remake of P.T. a long while ago (I was a beta user) and tbh I nearly forgot this was on Dreams PS4 and the sheer fact the detailing on the walls, the import of different assets used to literally replicate the exact was UNREAL, not as the unreal engine but just phenomenal. Hell, I didn't even finish that version only because of not only how scary it was but just how good it is
How am I just now hearing about Dreams? This video came out 2 years ago and the game was apparently in the works since 2013. Looks amazing! My brother and a friend of mine bought it and we all love it.

That moving platform is very shaky. They should add an option to auto smooth animations. Or maybe add the option to lock X, Y or Z directions so it's easier.
I wonder if there will be a "smooth movement" option for animation recording. like, if you want to eliminate some of the inevitable shakey-ness of motion controls. or maybe this would be dealt with using keyframes?
Not only can you edit animations from 6 different points, (stomyness, sass, swoopyness etc) you can also completely edit any animation from scratch, frame by frame
I see a lot of people seem interested but don't there capable for one reason or another? It's important to remember that sometimes it takes time to get good at things. No matter how "Bad" you may be to start it's challenge and progression that makes most of us enjoy games anyway? Plus I can imagine how far some people will take there creations seeing how mad it already is :D I really can't wait to see the future of this game. Even if just to play other peoples games. I have tons of imagination but need videos on how to make levels, characters and etc. I’ve tried it out for a few hours but with there being so much I honestly get lost. I want to make a Pixel smash bros and update the roster through time. I also want to make a pixel Marvel vs Capcom style game. Any recommendations?
Thank god you can just use a dualshock, like yeah I have a move controller, but I don't want to be using that for hours when I build, I mean c'mon, who does?
Of course full 1:1 motion control for cursor control is far preferable to having to use joysticks in LittleBigPlanet, but it would still be great if Dreams got a PC port down the line or at least support mouse input on PS4.
Devin Hansen I guess, I'm just speaking as someone who really gave move creation a shot with lbp and couldn't get into it, I know the move input will be refined, but I kinda don't always want to move my arms around if I'm taking a really long time to make something ya know? A simple thumb flick should suffice. Also I feel like moving your arm around provides less control then basic controller input
not a hope in hell, it's PS4 only & is designed specifically for it. Besides, if they ported to PC they'd just have to deal with a toxic community that does nothing but complain all the time, why would they want that?

@Edgier Boi I haven't used it yet but from my experience with forge and other creative tools on console it just feels more clunky to navigate and be precise, how do they make it intuitive with so few buttons?

Really don’t think even the games creators quite comprehend how important this technology is. My only worry is that it may get overshadowed as it’s so far end of cycle all the hype this would’ve had will just go to any PS5 game. Hope that’s not the case but maybe they should’ve just made it a PS5 launch title? Either way this is probably the only game I’ll be playing till Zelda
Anthony J I don’t think so, but give the controller a try. After I did the tutorials and had some practice, it’s not that hard. You saw what he cloud do with it.
This is so much easier than making little big planet levels lol, people always say minecraft redstone engineers are geniuses but knowing how to use all the tech in LBP creation mode was a whole other feat.
