David Lynch made this commercial in 2000 for the Sony Play Station and the same "trick" has been done about two years earlier by Jonathan Glazer who directed the Rabbit in your Headlights video for Radiohead in 1998.
Both did a great job I think.

David Lynch DID NOT direct this commercial. He only made one PS2 commercial for the UK market and it was titled "The Third Place". You can even hear David's voice saying "what not, what is, where not etc..."

If you just do a simple Google search, you can find all sorts of articles and info from 2000 and 2001 about David Lynch directing a series of Playstation ads. This is one of them.
They say in Twin Peaks secrets never lie. They must not eat venison in Twin Peaks, and must play lots of good ol' PS2.
This was directed by Kevin Thomas. Not David Lynch. the only PS2 commercial David Lynch directed is the one with the duck-headed person who says "welcome to the third place

This basic idea was used in a music video for U.N.C.L.E., where a tatty man is in a tunnel and a Merc crashes in to him - the car is destroyed, but the man is fine. I agree, with all Lynch's talk of 'looking for bigger fish', this seems like a very small one. Still a well-made video though. Check out my sheep anim.
David Lynch did NOT direct this commercial. The only Playstation commercial he ever directed was "Welcome to the Third Space" for the PS2.

The reason it doesn't look like a Lynch video is beacause Lynch didn't direct this video. It's an enormously common mistake that everyone thinks Lynch directed a bunch of PS2 commercials but he only did one. The Third Place
You're wrong. David Lynch was picked by Sony along with a number of directors to create a campaign for the PSP. The only one that is his starts with a wall of flames and a man walking down a narrow black corridor. There was a huge write up about it in DV magazine since it was the first thing Lynch ever shot on video.
