Great info, I especially agree that your pharmacy knowledge is the freshest right after school. I'm taking the board exam 4 years after graduations, and there have been so many updates in best practices and pharmaceutical knowledge.

Right? The year I took my BCPS was 2016 and three critical guidelines were introduced that year lol. Reminds me of something they used to say during pharmacy school, "your knowledge is outdated once you graduate". Gotta keep ourselves updated as much as we can cause it's easy to fall behind!

Sorry, but like a commenter said below, you are out of touch with the current reality. Loans are much worse than you think. $200,000+ is a low estimate for tuition and cost of living. I know grads with $230,000+ who were VERY frugal during their program and lived on the cheapest bag of instant noodles (you know those super cheap ones that come in a big brown box) and the cheapest cut of protein (mostly eggs when on sale: 12 eggs/$1). Entertainment was the gym at the school campus and torrented movies/online sites. These grads never ate out and if they did, it was once every 2-3 months on a small

I certainly am out of touch. The tuition continues to rise in these schools and it is simply blows my mind. Granted, it's no surprise that the surplus of graduating pharmacists due to an increase of pharmacy schools has been terrible for awhile. 2013 was the first year our school had an issue with employment post-graduation and I can hardly imagine how terrible it is now.
My assumption is that the job market is going to get worse before it gets better. The massive layoffs in retail over the last few years, especially after Amazon began shifting into the healthcare space, coupled with the advances in automation will likely disrupt the workforce even more :/. Not sure what to do about the pharmacy schools either cause it appears as though ACPE isn't going to act.

@@briankfung The solution is to persuade people from going to Pharmacy School.

Hi Filmon - certainly agree that is one solution. However, I think solutions beyond that need to be initiated to effectively address the current job market saturation.

Yes! It’d be interesting to get your perspective on it. Everyone’s got different ideas of what to expect and students will def find value out it :). Though, you prolly have 50+ videos already queued up hahaha

@@briankfung haha no trying to keep pushing content out is hard! I get ideas from you and Kevin all the time. I want to do a informatics interview with you one day. Maybe you can interview me or something in exchange?

I believe it for Kevin's video since all he does is create #hustle content now. Surprised you get ideas from me because all i do is post #emo content haha. And sure, feel free to hit me up for a collab - it doesn't need to be transactional. Being blessed by the OG Paul Tran is enough for me

Hi I’m a foreign pharmacy grad! I have an intern license and I’m currently looking for an internship. If you know anyone who is hiring or would be willing to give me an internship opportunity please let me know!

Hi Priyanka. I'm not aware of any internship opportunities off the top of my head, but I'd encourage you to reach out to different organizations to see if any opportunities are available since there are usually additional requirements they may have. Best of luck!
