    Changing the walls from dark Grey to white has really changed the vibe of the gallery. I like it. Never realized that a wall color could make such a difference.

    I love it when you talk in feet or tank size instead of Gallons. I'm in Australia and get tired of always having to convert Gallons to Liters. If you just say a 3 foot or a 6 x by 2 foot, I can relate to that. I hope you start a trend which more youtubers could follow. Cheers from Aus!

    I am excited to see your renovations as they unfold! No place to sit and enjoy your tanks has always been my biggest complaint about your gallery. Now I am looking forward to some videos of you actually sitting and watching the fish. I imagine seeing what catches Joey's attention as he watches his aquariums will never get old.

    BRUH!... The renovations look so 🔥 in that snippet in the end. I paused once the door opened and can see the walls on the aquaponics side... and I think this might be your best build yet Joe! The gallery is abt to be amazing!

    I ran into a gent that has a buddy green moray down in Belize the moray is wild but comes out of his cave when the gent claps the water. It was a real treat watching a 6 foot moray free swimming. caveman tours Caye Caulker, Belize is how I met the gent

    Great to see you taking about dimensions vs. gallons. My Catfish Tank only holds 40 gallons but has nearly 8 square feet of surface area. Ist's a very shallow tank. Greetings from Germany 😁

    You have given me so many goals. When I finally buy my house I'm getting Puffer tank and another larger tank for something else. I've had red bellies before and really enjoyed them, but I have always want to try the piranha caled the black rhombus, but from my experience they are very rare.

    I would love to see some fish art in the couch area on the wall
    Keep on making video's like this thanks Joey!

    Hey bud was wondering what you do about the tanks that are still up and running while your painting? I'd like to paint some in my fish room, but was worried about the air pump sucking in the paint fumes? What's your secret or am I over thinking this? I read paints these days aren't as bad as older paints, whatever that means lol?!?! I know your busy, hope to hear back!

    I expect Joey's next video will be a how-to on building your own sofa.
    For the smaller size tanks using gallons works. I can picture a 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 60 gallon tank quite easily. Above that, dimensions work best for me. Take care.

    Fahaka’s aren’t really spiny, so a net is okay if it’s big enough.
    Mine gets ANGRY and will thrash around, so I scoop him up in a plastic container with a lid if I have to move him.

    have move my puffers with nets and containers.... it depends on the puffer...some puff up and others dont stress it. had to hold one dragon puffer under the water to deflate but after 1-2 mins under water the puff let the air out. cant net my fahaka because it will flip out but is ok with containers.

  • @therandomman6647
    @therandomman6647 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I feel like avoiding a net is a good idea for people inexperienced with puffers. Temperatures shock and other environmental factors may cause the puffer to inflate with air, which can be lethal

  • @makomarquis
    @makomarquis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've always moved puffers with a net as well. I can see people having problems with porcupine puffers because the spines can get stuck in the net.

    The tank at the 2 minute mark, is that plastic? Where do you get a tank like that

  • @instaepicfishnl6956
    @instaepicfishnl6956 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do have experience with puffers and untill now you might have been lucky. I did it once with a mbu and a net and had to rub the air out as he couldn't get it out himself. Your fahaka has been transferred quite a lot so he might be used to it. So I only transfer them in buckets or koinet so they remain in water. I definitely agree that footprint is more important then volume. Looking forward to all the changes in the gallery!

    How often do you do a water change on the 800 gallon and how much do you take out? Thinking of doing one similar. Watch all your videos as well as other fish keepers but you guys never talk about how much water you change and how often. Very curious cause I'm going to do my own. Seen your videos on how to build one as well as watching many others that built there own to get an idea of how to do it before it busts in my house. I already built the stand you do exactly how you do it, thanks.

    Gallons vs dimensions? I think the way you do, more or less. Gotta make sure you have enough space in terms of length and width to allow the fish to turn comfortably, and enough height to be appropriate. Bala sharks need more room to run in a straight line than mollies. Angels are probably happier with higher tanks than cories. Still need adequate filtration and water volume too, but those are *almost* secondary to having appropriate dimensions.

  • @patrickfo967
    @patrickfo967 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Joey I‘ve got to agree. Dimensions are far more important than gallons and this also should be changed in most books and online information. If you keep territorial fish it’s all about the surface area of the tank …

    I mean, you can move a puffer outside of water with a net, but doing it is Russian Roulet. The puffer won’t die by interacting with air but if it inflates while it’s outside the tank air can get trapped inside of it and cause it to have problems swimming and then it can die.

    You shouldn’t “technically” move a puffer fish in a net but I do it all the time as well. You can’t avoid it sometimes, especially when you have a two foot long huge Diodon hystrix like I have. Him and my other puffers are always fine when I do it. On occasion i had to help get the last bit of air out of one, I figured out how to do it,

    I'm in dimensions side because not every fish / aquatic animals behave or move the same. For example, Betta fish need a lot of swimming space (left to right, front to back) instead of deeper water.
    In my case (even though they aren't a fish), my Razorback Musk turtle have "lowboy" pond than my Red Eared Slider pond, which is a cube like shape.
