Changing the walls from dark Grey to white has really changed the vibe of the gallery. I like it. Never realized that a wall color could make such a difference.
I love it when you talk in feet or tank size instead of Gallons. I'm in Australia and get tired of always having to convert Gallons to Liters. If you just say a 3 foot or a 6 x by 2 foot, I can relate to that. I hope you start a trend which more youtubers could follow. Cheers from Aus!
I am excited to see your renovations as they unfold! No place to sit and enjoy your tanks has always been my biggest complaint about your gallery. Now I am looking forward to some videos of you actually sitting and watching the fish. I imagine seeing what catches Joey's attention as he watches his aquariums will never get old.
BRUH!... The renovations look so 🔥 in that snippet in the end. I paused once the door opened and can see the walls on the aquaponics side... and I think this might be your best build yet Joe! The gallery is abt to be amazing!
I ran into a gent that has a buddy green moray down in Belize the moray is wild but comes out of his cave when the gent claps the water. It was a real treat watching a 6 foot moray free swimming. caveman tours Caye Caulker, Belize is how I met the gent
Great to see you taking about dimensions vs. gallons. My Catfish Tank only holds 40 gallons but has nearly 8 square feet of surface area. Ist's a very shallow tank. Greetings from Germany 😁
I know youve done tons of acrylic aquarium build videos but I'd love to see how you attach the top portion of this puffer tank with the cutouts. Truly you are the master
You have given me so many goals. When I finally buy my house I'm getting Puffer tank and another larger tank for something else. I've had red bellies before and really enjoyed them, but I have always want to try the piranha caled the black rhombus, but from my experience they are very rare.
Love that, I currently have a 4 ft sump with a 4 ft tank so I understand the meaning of overkill filtration ahaha. Hopefully going to have another tank on the system soon
its finaly good to see you do what YOU want to do, not what others want. that is what i came here for all those year ago. for your experience and what you like to do to inspire me.
Well im excited to see the evolution of the aquarium gallery and as some one that worked in an aquarium store I kinda, agree with Joey's stamen more with the big box store I see it in tho
Love your video's so much discussion about dimensions and gallons or liters. I think you did this the right way! Somethimes you need to overthink the whole situation ( filtration dimensions waterquality biological or mechanic media) I would love to see some fish art in the couch area on the wall Keep on making video's like this thanks Joey! Love from the netherlands ✌
Hey bud was wondering what you do about the tanks that are still up and running while your painting? I'd like to paint some in my fish room, but was worried about the air pump sucking in the paint fumes? What's your secret or am I over thinking this? I read paints these days aren't as bad as older paints, whatever that means lol?!?! I know your busy, hope to hear back!
I expect Joey's next video will be a how-to on building your own sofa. For the smaller size tanks using gallons works. I can picture a 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 60 gallon tank quite easily. Above that, dimensions work best for me. Take care.
Hi Joey tyrese looks super happy with his own tank now. I would love for you to do a video on space of the tank versus gal per tank plus the filtration too
Now im mot worried about growing my little one out in a 75 and moving into a 125 once he's about this size. Always a pleasure watching you go adhd in your hobbies 😂.
I have a Fahaka as well that I got as a little guy last March. Just moved him into a 210, but dimensions was definitely a deciding factor in how big I went.
Hey man, had some pea puffers, gonna get more in the future. Had a couple die on me when we netted them, they swallowed air and couldn't exhale it. Not sure if this impacts more than just pea puffers but personally, will definitely avoid it. your buddy looks good tho, glad to see!
Coolest thing about aquarium videos is you can literally film the same tanks over and over and people ( well I guess only people like me maybe 😏) will be ready to watch lol. So stuff like this is a bonus to me 👍
Seahorses need at least a height of 18 inches. Salinity should remain stable and when lowering the tank water, you should keep salinity in mind. I love your puffer. He does look happy in his new home. Thanks for sharing.
Fahaka’s aren’t really spiny, so a net is okay if it’s big enough. Mine gets ANGRY and will thrash around, so I scoop him up in a plastic container with a lid if I have to move him.
have move my puffers with nets and containers.... it depends on the puffer...some puff up and others dont stress it. had to hold one dragon puffer under the water to deflate but after 1-2 mins under water the puff let the air out. cant net my fahaka because it will flip out but is ok with containers.
I feel like avoiding a net is a good idea for people inexperienced with puffers. Temperatures shock and other environmental factors may cause the puffer to inflate with air, which can be lethal
I do have experience with puffers and untill now you might have been lucky. I did it once with a mbu and a net and had to rub the air out as he couldn't get it out himself. Your fahaka has been transferred quite a lot so he might be used to it. So I only transfer them in buckets or koinet so they remain in water. I definitely agree that footprint is more important then volume. Looking forward to all the changes in the gallery!
Hoping the next time I get out east to visit my parents in Pugwash you will have a place for people to come see your aquariums. :) Been watching for a few years now and Tyrese is awesome and every time I see him I want one.
How often do you do a water change on the 800 gallon and how much do you take out? Thinking of doing one similar. Watch all your videos as well as other fish keepers but you guys never talk about how much water you change and how often. Very curious cause I'm going to do my own. Seen your videos on how to build one as well as watching many others that built there own to get an idea of how to do it before it busts in my house. I already built the stand you do exactly how you do it, thanks.
After seeing your fahaka puffer, I had to get one! I actually got 2, they are tiny fry, about an inch or less. What do you suggest feeding them at that size? I have been feeding mysis and brine shrimp that I also feed my saltwater fish. Thanks!
Talk to me brotha, how did you move tyrese without any acclimation? I'm just trying to gather info, i have a nice community tank but want some type of puffer tank whether it be one or a couple small pea puffers
Gallons vs dimensions? I think the way you do, more or less. Gotta make sure you have enough space in terms of length and width to allow the fish to turn comfortably, and enough height to be appropriate. Bala sharks need more room to run in a straight line than mollies. Angels are probably happier with higher tanks than cories. Still need adequate filtration and water volume too, but those are *almost* secondary to having appropriate dimensions.
Joey I‘ve got to agree. Dimensions are far more important than gallons and this also should be changed in most books and online information. If you keep territorial fish it’s all about the surface area of the tank …
I mean, you can move a puffer outside of water with a net, but doing it is Russian Roulet. The puffer won’t die by interacting with air but if it inflates while it’s outside the tank air can get trapped inside of it and cause it to have problems swimming and then it can die.
I think for smaller fish/aquariums gallons is a more useful form of measurement than footprint, but with larger fish the footprint becomes much more important
Awesome video Joey. See Brian Bart check it's moving along with his zoo/Aquarium is he picking your brain for help with the aquarium part thanks for sharing this video have a great day Dennis.
You shouldn’t “technically” move a puffer fish in a net but I do it all the time as well. You can’t avoid it sometimes, especially when you have a two foot long huge Diodon hystrix like I have. Him and my other puffers are always fine when I do it. On occasion i had to help get the last bit of air out of one, I figured out how to do it,
I dont know if anybody has asked this question if so my bad, I dont read the comments ..Anyways do these puffers grow slow and how long do these beautiful fish get
I'm in dimensions side because not every fish / aquatic animals behave or move the same. For example, Betta fish need a lot of swimming space (left to right, front to back) instead of deeper water. In my case (even though they aren't a fish), my Razorback Musk turtle have "lowboy" pond than my Red Eared Slider pond, which is a cube like shape.
Changing the walls from dark Grey to white has really changed the vibe of the gallery. I like it. Never realized that a wall color could make such a difference.
He’s done so many different colors out there every time looks so different
I love it when you talk in feet or tank size instead of Gallons. I'm in Australia and get tired of always having to convert Gallons to Liters. If you just say a 3 foot or a 6 x by 2 foot, I can relate to that. I hope you start a trend which more youtubers could follow. Cheers from Aus!
Inches really gets me mate. Does my head in. No idea how you can get accurate measurements in inches

Loving this switch up. Making the gallery a cosy, interesting, absolutely phenomenal place to chill
Love that, I currently have a 4 ft sump with a 4 ft tank so I understand the meaning of overkill filtration ahaha. Hopefully going to have another tank on the system soon
I think it's great to see that you really like the new style of the gallery and so do I! Keep on doing what YOU want to do!
Joey, your galley is super dope. Spewing facts about surface area and gas exchange. Say, what media do you have in the classic filters ✌
I'm so happy to have Tyrese so happy. 🙂
I enjoy seeing your amazing fish. I agree about size/gallons. As long as conditions are monitored daily it works
Looking great Joey can't wait to see it all complete👍👍
its finaly good to see you do what YOU want to do, not what others want. that is what i came here for all those year ago. for your experience and what you like to do to inspire me.
I never thought about how dimensions could be more important than gallonage. Really good to know while I'm thinking of getting a fish again!
Well im excited to see the evolution of the aquarium gallery and as some one that worked in an aquarium store I kinda, agree with Joey's stamen more with the big box store I see it in tho
Been watching your channel for 6+ years. Love the new videos, they keep me wanting more. Glad to see you doing your thing, your way
Dimensions are what most people go by in the UK, gallons can be confusing sometimes as UK and US gallons are different (although litres aren't!)
Muscleheads: Bro do you even lift?
Joey: Nah, I push tanks around constantly.
Joey's fitness video coming soon.
Love your video's so much discussion about dimensions and gallons or liters. I think you did this the right way! Somethimes you need to overthink the whole situation ( filtration dimensions waterquality biological or mechanic media)
I would love to see some fish art in the couch area on the wall

Love how those two tanks are coming together!

Sweet set up and good to see things coming along . Been away for a bit but happy to be back and watching
Totally agree that in terms of tanks size matters and I’m not talking abt gallons. Same with the “inch of fish per gallon” sell people get told
love the new start to the vids
You should switch to metres and centimetres in dimentions, litres and tones to water quantity. Thanks.
Now im mot worried about growing my little one out in a 75 and moving into a 125 once he's about this size. Always a pleasure watching you go adhd in your hobbies 😂.
those oscars hanging with the arowana are awesome!
I have a Fahaka as well that I got as a little guy last March. Just moved him into a 210, but dimensions was definitely a deciding factor in how big I went.
And yes, he is also super personable. Lol
Great Video as always man, Been watching your content since around 2015 and no matter what direction you take with your channel its always enjoyable.
Love you Joey! Met you on the boardwalk in Halifax 4 years ago and snapped a picture! Keep it up man❤
Loooooove how your logo appears from behind the arowana at the beginning. Very very cool.
Hey man, had some pea puffers, gonna get more in the future. Had a couple die on me when we netted them, they swallowed air and couldn't exhale it. Not sure if this impacts more than just pea puffers but personally, will definitely avoid it. your buddy looks good tho, glad to see!
Your puffer is gorgeous
Love seeing the old intro. You are missed Buddy.
Coolest thing about aquarium videos is you can literally film the same tanks over and over and people ( well I guess only people like me maybe 😏) will be ready to watch lol.
So stuff like this is a bonus to me 👍
The DIY fishkeepers intro video was really well done! 👌
I can't believe how much energy you have to do to all the stuff you do! I'm burned out with just two tanks. 😭
Never thought of the dimensions before gallons. That makes so much more sense
Love it! Dimensions are key!
Seahorses need at least a height of 18 inches. Salinity should remain stable and when lowering the tank water, you should keep salinity in mind. I love your puffer. He does look happy in his new home. Thanks for sharing.
The fish tanks just keep getting better and better Joey.
Your center, island type decoration is a nice change!
Fahaka’s aren’t really spiny, so a net is okay if it’s big enough.
Mine gets ANGRY and will thrash around, so I scoop him up in a plastic container with a lid if I have to move him.
Joey, I’d love to see you get a cross river puffer and/or an African arrowana
Hey Joey long time watcher just stopping by to say I’m glad your still making videos! Plus I love your cowfish! Does he have a name yet?
have move my puffers with nets and containers.... it depends on the puffer...some puff up and others dont stress it. had to hold one dragon puffer under the water to deflate but after 1-2 mins under water the puff let the air out. cant net my fahaka because it will flip out but is ok with containers.
I feel like avoiding a net is a good idea for people inexperienced with puffers. Temperatures shock and other environmental factors may cause the puffer to inflate with air, which can be lethal
I've always moved puffers with a net as well. I can see people having problems with porcupine puffers because the spines can get stuck in the net.
The tank at the 2 minute mark, is that plastic? Where do you get a tank like that
I do have experience with puffers and untill now you might have been lucky. I did it once with a mbu and a net and had to rub the air out as he couldn't get it out himself. Your fahaka has been transferred quite a lot so he might be used to it. So I only transfer them in buckets or koinet so they remain in water. Big ups with the caribsea supernatruals peace river. Goated substrate.
where do I get a 70g tank with those dimensions ? I love it
What kind of hanging dome looking lights are you using above the tanks?
Is it possible to keep a fahaka puffer with adult L600 together?
Wow Joey it's really looking good so far u on point bro👍🏾
11:08 my man is cheesing haha "Like the vid, this place is vibin' duude"
In puffer tank if u introduce some shrimps in the Island just like saltwater aquarium it could be nice.
Hoping the next time I get out east to visit my parents in Pugwash you will have a place for people to come see your aquariums. :) Been watching for a few years now and Tyrese is awesome and every time I see him I want one.
The walls are done in the thumbnail, you’re a sneaky boy Joey. Love how it’s coming together
Joey big fan, you should get a freshwater tiger eel in the tyrese tank
Great tank! Why gravel and not sand though?😕 Doubt he will wallow in that.
How often do you do a water change on the 800 gallon and how much do you take out? Thinking of doing one similar. Watch all your videos as well as other fish keepers but you guys never talk about how much water you change and how often. Very curious cause I'm going to do my own. Do you think a grown fahaka puffer will be okay in a 75 gallon?
so cool. I do love it. I always enjoy watching your videos.
Haha loved the sneak peak! Looks so good so far
Liked the editing of this video, Fired Up!!!
After seeing your fahaka puffer, I had to get one! I actually got 2, they are tiny fry, about an inch or less. What do you suggest feeding them at that size? I have been feeding mysis and brine shrimp that I also feed my saltwater fish. Thanks!
I really want that sand you have in the bottom of Tyrese new aquarium.
Talk to me brotha, how did you move tyrese without any acclimation? I'm just trying to gather info, i have a nice community tank but want some type of puffer tank whether it be one or a couple small pea puffers
Room looks well better brother 👌🏼👌🏼 when that couch is in 😙🤌🏼
Gallons vs dimensions? I think the way you do, more or less. I really love see again the og intro. Love this channel
Please, what is the name of your substrate in your fahaka tank??
Really enjoyed this video
Looks soooo good😁😁👏👏
That looks really good and that’s a really nice tank size
I mean, you can move a puffer outside of water with a net, but doing it is Russian Roulet. The puffer won’t die by interacting with air but if it inflates while it’s outside the tank air can get trapped inside of it and cause it to have problems swimming and then it can die.
Man the building is really looking good 👍🏻
All you doing looks great man do you think a 36 long x 24 wide x18 high with a big canister filter would be ok for a Fahaka pufferfish ?
I am so happy that the old intro is back ❤️
Keep making beautiful things!
Joey with the introoooo 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome video, what is the name of the wood panels on your walls called,? Can I get it at home depot?
I think for smaller fish/aquariums gallons is a more useful form of measurement than footprint, but with larger fish the footprint becomes much more important
Tyrese has so much connection with you
What happened to your saltwater puffer? We didn't get an update on that one.
Probably got rid of it already
Hey Joey, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE everything except the plastic plant wall. Just sayin.
Awesome video Joey. See Brian Bart check it's moving along with his zoo/Aquarium is he picking your brain for help with the aquarium part thanks for sharing this video have a great day Dennis.

I dont know if anybody has asked this question if so my bad, I dont read the comments ..Anyways do these puffers grow slow and how long do these beautiful fish get
It’s going look awesome
Please do a saltwater aquarium
Can't wait for you to complete the fish house and the basement it is really looking beautiful with all the changes love from India😃
