Your love of this puffer is so pure. Thanks for doing right by him. I helped care for a puffer in highschool and he was trained to eat from your hands. His favorite was shrimp.
This. People eating things like puffers and octopus is repulsive to me, for similar reasons if you told me you ate dog or oranguatan I'd be disgusted with you as a person. Puffer and cuttlefish I could somewhat give benefit of the doubt prior to the internet, but it's become pretty common knowledge how smart these animals are.
@@ilyalfred7841 I keep and breed all kinds of fish I'm well educated in aquatic life thanks the fact you jump to conclusions shows your ignorance so get lost and stop annoying me on your up to date comment idiot
Your love for your baby puffer is so pure and adorable 😭 I would love to one day have a puffer of my own, it's really inspiring to see someone take such good care of one like you do!
There's multiple animals I'd like to someday have when/if I ever have both the time and money/resources, and a big puffer is one of them. Probably not a Fahaka though that'd be awesome. Also school of cuttlefish.
Thanks for not taking him out of the water all the way. You obviously have read up. Never let them suck in air they can have a hard time expelling it as opposed to water. Hopefully he doesn’t munch on your leather and star polyps. Mussels and cockles are also really good especially when still on the shell, helps to keep the beak filed down. He’s technically a striped burrfish. They can be found off the east coast as far north as Maryland and North Carolina depending on water temperature.
you should stack live rock on top of each other (assuming you get more when you get more colorful fish) because the change in height is nice and if you put 2 or 3 small rocks at the bottom and a big one on top, you have a large spot to put coral and alot of spaces for fish to swim down below. Love the long tanks since they always have great potential to be amazing reefers
I will definitely redo the scape of the rock soon. It’s hard Bc I already glued corals onto the middle rock so I’ll have to be careful when redecorating
Pretty sure puffers can get bored. I'd love to have a big one but they're easily stressed, mostly require very specific water conditions (I have ultra hard water to boot), needs lots of space, and I barely have the time for taking care of a houseplant and fish atm.
Just a word of advice use the container that you put him in to transport to catch him as well that way you don’t have to put him in the net Which isn’t good with a spiky puffer fish
Actually you can severely injure them by taking them out of the water and into the air if they get stressed out. Forget how, but my understanding is something about the way they puff up if they do it with air can cause permanent injury while you're moving them around.
Do only have a HOB as filter for that puffer that every say is "Expert Only" or am I mising something? (Freshwater keeper) But my dream since Iam a puffer lover is to keep one. I love porcupine, but this one looks even better. How big does it get? :-D Thanks for the video.
👀😬❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️♥️☮️LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH ..SO CUTE!!! I have a GREEN SPOTTED PUFFER..BERNIE..I am in the market at the moment to upgrade his tank.. GOOD JOB !!
I had a porcupine for 6 years, gave up the tank when I started traveling in a rv for 3 years. They are great. I’m setting up a tank again. Of course main fish will be a porcupine
Awesome pufferfish, just beware he's going to outgrow that tank, and they grow incredibly fast. You might need to get a bigger tank in like six months. you also cant feed him only krill, it causes the fish to get lockjaw and eventually he won't be able to eat and he will die.
He does look great in that tank! You did take a big risk putting him in that net even if for a second. I hope he’s doing well, he’s a cutie for sure:) 🐡
Next time put the small container in the tank for transport, it's so much safer. If he tried to puff up while in the net it's game over, glad it worked out.

I seen one at the store today, never seeing one in person, and he started talking to me immediately, I want him, but I don't think I have the funds currently.. He was extremely responsive and as they say had a personality of a puffer. about the size of this one if not a little smaller.. priced at 29.99. I took a video of him, and as soon as I started he swam over and went down to a pebble and pretended to pick it up and put it down and I slightly moved my phone to the left and he went to the stick on the tank after looking at me for a minute before I slightly moved my phone..
Seriously have questions. Sorry so long..How old is the box puffer and what size tank did u put him in?. @@saltybrackishfresh It's not. These are "battles". Even if they were supposed to be "feedings" they are inhumane feedings. Zoo keepers don't throw live animals in the cage while screaming and cheering and tell people "ITs A LivE FEedingZ!" Not to mention it is not save for the predator. I’m looking to get a puffer but heard they eat corals any thoughts?
He’s so cute
Where is the bigger tank from!
Man you are so lucky, I would kill to have a tank and a Puffer like this. as a kid, I had three Pigmy Puffers. They were my favorite pets!
Spiny Box and Porcupine Puffers have no predators.
How much did u spend on all that tank and all
Is tht puffer aggressive with other fish?
Did he end up eating your coral? I just got one so I was wondering.
I’m curios if someone put puffed fish and mantis shrimp in the same tank ?
What will happens?
I don’t think they would fight but the puffer MAY attack the mantis and get punched in the face
The puffer has toxin as a defense. The mantis will eventually die by the puffers need to chew on shell. Catch it molting and it's got no defense.
How is he doing ?
Puffer fish is cute! And she ahs a new home! ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
