Gonna be honest, even knowing your a pro and gonna be fine the concept a electric eel is in there still fills me with anxiety a bit
Me too! im not gonna pretend im not nervous around it. I dont know why i said i was gonna move him... now i dont want to! hahaha
Glad to hear the eel gets such a prominent display! Liked the idea of it being near but under the table seemed off.
Yeah, I'd definitely love to see more DIY stuff. It's great to see a lot of talking head stuff where you're walking around and giving tours, but the DIY stuff is where it's at for me.
I mean you're the King of DIY, you should be filming more DIY stuff in my opinion. That little brine shrimp setup might seem like something quick and simple, but that's quality TH-cam Shorts/TikTok/Reel content right there. Very missed opportunities on content.
Hey Joey... Started watching WAY back when you were having issues with the "other " relationship... Congratulations brother! Tamara seems like a legit good woman! Be honored that she chose you! Your journey Joey ( at least the one I/we, know of...) has truly come a long way and has been an inspiration to many of us! ! Happy life, and goodtimes Joey and Tamera!! May you have a long life and prosperous fortune ahead!
please do an insane saltwater tank in that living room, i only keep fresh at the moment but would be amazing listening to you teach everyone how to set up a serious reef tank
Could you possible add a little led light set up so that it lights up when he shocks near it
YES!
Joey, is there a way to rig the tank with some sort of light that turns on when ever he emits electricity into the water? I think that would be pretty awesome if it were possible.
"He's so happy right now"...😂
He got you! It iddnt hurt, but was it Shocking!!!
Absolutly crapped a brick when you got a fright! My heart!!! 😂😂😂
Knowing how much Tamara loves bettas and how you’ve gotten into them too. You could do a massive betta sorority in the other 180. Electric eel in minimalist tank in one side a a whole bunch of bettas (and other fish too) in a heavily planted tank on the other.
He should get betta macrostoma
I love Betta sororities. Setting one up in th 180 would be pricey, but man it would look incredible with like 30 of them swimming around all establishing their own areas. Then throw in a couple schools of different schooling fish. Like 15-20 per group. basically 70-80 fish, but only a few different species.
3:20 Joey Mind melds with the Eel.... ;P
Thanks Tamara ‼️ Good thing she has a Betta addiction 😂
i highly recommend a heavy lockable lid for the tank. I cared for an electric eel slightly larger than yours and he managed to escape/jump out the tank, even with a couple heavy plastic lids.
The eel is just an awesome fish.
Since I was little I have wanted to get a ghost knife fish, I remembered that after watching your electric eel.
I think I will finally get one.
Did you give up on the idea of keeping fancy goldfish on the dual 180's? I just think it would look great!
your in the wall goldfish tank with pebble flooring was amazing too look at espically with the lighting
I watched you for a long time in the past, congratulations on the marriage! Always a joy to return to channels I once watched in the past and see that they're doing well. Best wishes
Ok hes my favorite fish of yours to watch, he eats like meee!!😂😂😂
Joey fucked around and found out what homies about 😮💨😂 love the videos!
Joey tank looks phenomenal 😂
I would think A CAVE OF SOME KIND in there
You can also small cave like structure and silicon the plant and rocks around it.. It will add to the scape
That tank under the desk should be paludriam with crabs and fish!
Tank looks good 👍..any updates on this guy love him??
Quite a few years ago, I used to keep a pond and one of the fish I really enjoyed keeping was the Gobi dragon. I do understand that not many people like Gobis, but I do. They do not get along with Cichlids. Gobi dragons are very sensitive to their environment, which may be why not to many hobbyists like them. It has always be my suggestion on here.
Since you have an electric eel, have you thought about keeping a lungfish or water snake?
My brother had the same set up. Aquarium with a room behind it all salt water fish like 500 gallons
Joey please i have been dying for an update on your panda uaru:)
This is a question not about the eel but about an inline uv and would be just as effective on canister intake tube
Shubunkin goldfish! :D of course I'm not a fan of fancy goldfish so there is that haha though I remember the last goldfish tank you made, that was a really cool tank
Just some Driftwood and maybe big Catapa leaves and a couple of those rocks. Very cool pet. It's funny when he nails upu.😂😂✌🌿🐟
With the brine shrimp feeder, maybe try youtube shorts when doing smaller DIY projects. It might be easier than posting a whole video for a small project. Also with the new shorts feature with the easy link to video you could for example post the short on the brine shrimp but link it to you setting up the betta tanks. but as always really enjoyed the video!❤
So happy for you dude. You deserve it ❤
I like the electric eel in the basement. Maybe another knife fish in the other tank. Like black ghost knifes or do actual eels like a fire eel.
congrats!
You are Brave dude 😂
Congratulations!
I’m not gonna lie, the first time you got shocked I literally laughed out loud 😂
Do a dry brush of dark gray on the styrofoam that you painted black. Will give it a castle like look / feel I think.
Congratulations king and queen of diy
you need a "don't taze me bro" shirt when your working on that tank lol
Do you know which of the three species this one is? Im also wondering how you’ll house it once it grows to five feet or more. I love ‘em, but their size is a serious draw back.
I know a guy that can build big tanks out of any material. He's on youtube. Check the king of DIY.
@@thekingofdiythat’s an answer I like 😂
Surprised you didn't drop the water down some.. your scream when u got shocked 😅😂🤦
Priceless
Hey you can use leaf litter and other botanicals instead of those plants that the eel keeps moving around.
Angel fish in one and the eel in the other.
It's a good idea to see the electric eel up there
Congrats on the pending nuptials
you should hook up an light that lights up when he shocks the water :)
Would be cool to have the South American giant knifefish (Electrophorus) one side, and a African aba (Gymnarchus niloticus) also an electric fish the other side.
Joey, I haven't seen anything on your discus in forever. How are they doing?
Are u gonna power the lights with that
you should get some long rubber gloves if you dont want to get shocked
I wouldn't be brave enough to stick my hand in with an Electric Eel.Years ago a friend of mine was shocked by a large Electric Catfish and it knocked him unconscious and after that he never put his hand in again!
Congratulations 🎊 👏
If you connect a Tesla coil to the tank you can know when it shocks the water
Are you going to make a system that detects the eel's pulses in the water and uses them to drive a speaker or something? so we can 'hear' the eel's shocks?
Would rubber gloves protect you from shocks? I watched one kill a Cayman on a Amazon nature show.
How many gallons is that ?
I loved the look of murky water in this tank viewed from the back. Suited Eelon perfectly. Is there any way to achieve that look permanently?
Would rubber gloves stop the shocks? I know they make them where they go up the arm.
Electric eels use electric fields to navigate and locate prey in murky water. Special cells in their bodies generate these fields, and the eels sense distortions caused by objects in the water, creating a mental map of their environment. It's a form of electroreception, not vision. Thats why they are soooo coool! its like whales locomotien but with electric!!!
It would of been good to see you build the brine shrimp hatchery 👀🤔 I've just built one and curious to see the way you do it ❤
What size is your tank?
and here I thought you've been looking for a mermaid!
I wonder if a multimeter with the probes in the tanks could pick up the voltage and amperage?
damn bro.. u got a LOT of tanks.. i think u might be a fish in your last life:).. awesome stuff sir.
I think Tammy needs to get into the eel tank and move some rocks around a
Great fish jo
Joey as ever a brilliant video that has left me wanting more cheers bud
Yay new vid 😀😀
Congratulations to you and Tamera!!!! I’ve been watching you for a while and you def deserve someone who understands your hobby and you in general ! May your marriage be blessed and prosperous! In Jesus name ❤
If I ever get something artificial for the aquarium Aqua Decor would be the only way to go. Never knew about the bottom of the aquarium as an alternative which is a very useful alternative to the substrates that usually have the potential to be a breeding ground for unhealthy strains of bacteria if maintenance is not matching the specific situation's. Even if it is , very likely that one of the many fish illnesses the average person with the best of intentions to do everything certainly has been dealing with whatever can get the opportunity to make so many go bare bottom. Not everyone has a planted tank because they would be eaten by so many of the fish and or constantly getting uprooted.... That was a expensive lesson for me and my silver Dollars cost me way more than what I spent on the plants lol 😏
Just to let you know I found you because of Mike's fishtory channel. 😅
Hey Joey, is that tank electricity grounded😂 That's one happy eel😊Keep him in the bigger tank!
I agree, surely the bigger tank is better for him in the long run plus moving him gives me anxiety xxx
🎉
He needs a friend
Why don't you do a nice Community tank simple fish that you can own yourself at home. Like Cardinal tetras neon tetras so tells Guppies all that kind of stuff Pilates things like that. Because in my living room I have a 90 gallon bow front tank on one side of my living room and the other side I'm still looking for another 90 gallon bow front tank
You could just put the GoPro around your chest in some way so whenever your working on stuff we can be there with you without you having to put any big effort in, just interesting to watch your videos keep it up man
Electric eel on one side and a saltwater eel on the other side of the tv 🤔
Why did you point 👉 and say over here bro straight after you said he's blind 😂
Congratulations so happy for you two❤
Healthy
touch it
Take out the plants and drop in almond leaves.
I love that eel! He’s my fav of your fish
Imagine if he touched the eel...
Alright homie. What's your arm routine like at the gym?
add one more
I was thinking if you eant to be slightly safer if you got a piece of wood or plastic slightly smaller than the width of the tank front to back.
Drill lots of hiles in it to allow water to pass through and youll need to attach some weights to it to balance it.
You can then slide it into the tank and herd the eel to one end without putting a hand in the water so no risk of electric shock. Then leave it there so the eel is "trapped" away from where youre aquascaping.
Obviously theres still the chance of getting a shock from the water but the erl would be contained well away from you.
Tyrese on the other side
🤴
Its ABA ABA RIGHT
hmmm, why would you ever had to be ashamed of being a fish enthusiast? i know basically nothing about fish except that i found them beautiful that why i subscribed to your channel in the first place. anyways even if you happen to be single again someday be proud of what you are and what you like dude, all i know i learned from you and that in itself is a beautiful thing, anyways great video
"I want to do something cool" then says goldfish.. not sure how those belong together but Joey has really shifted gears to "normie" fish like bettas and guppies already so that makes sense.
Goldfish are cool
I'm really looking forward to you getting fancy goldfish in that 180. Golds are my absolute favorite closely followed by betta😊
This fish is brazilian and is called "Poraquê" here. If you search "Poraque aquario" you will see some brazilian aquariums with them. There was a guy ("Peixe grande" channel) that was attempting to breed them, but I don't know if he was successful. He had a trio and he would hand feed them oftenly. Here this fish are somewhat niche, but if you really want one you can find within a couple of months selling for about 200~400 USD.
I assume you have already start planning your next fish in your daugthers old room as well lol . Also the eel is going to be sad about loosing all his free spilled drinks , if you move him.
👀yoooooo🫣
With your volume, I think you should provide a cheaper membership. Just sayin'...
I'd never keep one of those. They're ugly and they're dangerous. I don't see the upside.
