    One of the things I find so enjoyable is watching your videos(especially because I am a pretty old lady pushing right toward my 80th year now) and, the joy and happiness and excitement in your voice when you are trying new things and expanding your horizons.
    it’s good to see a young person taking so much pride and joy and what they love and being able to do it so well not only that but share your downfalls as well as your moments of great pride.
    Thank you Joey it’s always a joy to watch you❤

    Hi Joey. Seeing you have given us so many ideas in the past. Maybe you would be interested in one back. You have made filters out of flower troffs. So why not use the same principle with the pothos. Use the small pump that's in the tank to feed a large troff with the pothos and was it clay balls in the aquaponic pots to hold them in, then just let it drain back into the tank. No need to remember to water them again. Plus you gain a massive pothos filter. Plus water running into the tank from it for circulation and aeration.
    I don't know why I'm telling you this, you taught it to me 😂😂 thanks for the many years of inspiration and guidance in the hobby, it's served me well.

    Put the pothos into a long trough that over flows into the tank. Fill trough with lava rock. You can use the Fx to feed the trough. Waterfall the back for flow.

  • @breadwin23
    @breadwin23 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would be taking those pothos out of the pots, washing all the soil off, and putting the roots directly into the tank. The pothos really take off then! You can trail it everywhere. I have them in all my pleco tanks

    • @EmEm78
      @EmEm78 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I've done with my pothos plants in my axolotl tank and they're thriving. They've noticeably reduced the nitrates which is great. The axolotls love hanging out in their "jungle" of roots too.

  • @vanissaberg5824
    @vanissaberg5824 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have an idea for your pothos wall. Make a long trough. Fill it with clay pebbles and add aquarium water through it about an inch deep like a passive hydroponics. Adding a pump is optional if you want to cycle the water from the tank through it, but not necessary. Add I viewing window so you can see the water level. It's already in the perfect place for it, then you'll never forget to water the plants again lol.

    You could put an automatic drip system in your plants. You would just have to make sure they have decent over flow containers underneath. Then they would get plenty of water, and you wouldn’t have to be climbing up there to water them all the time.

    I did this with my pothos and my 75 gallon about 3 years ago and it looks amazing now. Mine is a heavily planted tank with angels in it. But the pothos should do really amazing for you like this. Mine come from the top down though. Also the pothos leaves that are underwater stay green! I was very surprised that they stayed alive as long as their roots are in the pots above are in soil. When they grow down they grow into the water and stay alive.

    The new planter for pothos would be dope as a pass through with like expanded clay media that returns back down into the 180. Maybe off the discharge of the main filter so it’s mechanically filtered first so the media in the troff doesn’t get impacted with solids.

    the scape idea is cool and so is the stocking, BUT im not sure i like the idea of putting baby in the back corner. hes going to be lonely there unless you are spending a lot of time back there.
    the 1000 tetras would be cool in there on their own imho.
    something you could try is making floating island pots for the pothos, you could even attach those sticks to the bottom like roots, and tie moss to them. theyd function sort of like lily pads in a pond, or floating debris out in the ocean and give little fish a hiding spot that isnt under rocks or out of view.
