That's what I like to call "going out of the way to be rude and nasty".

I had booked my date and time 2 months in advance and had to await confirmation of her availability on my day of choice before making my deposit to secure my appointment. After not hearing from her for almost a week I sent an enquiry to the given number and I got that whole "just pay to secure your appointment" statement, and that's the last she heard from me (because how do I pay for a slot that I don't even know if it's available or not 😩). Took my business and my bridesmaids elsewhere and we were super happy with the customer service and the skill of the other stylist. She became my stylist of choice from then on, and I never miss an opportunity to recommend her to friends and family 😊

She found out this girl was doing business out of her apartment without permission from her landlord, didn't have a permit, no license, and she didn't have insurance for her "business." And reported her ass. She got slapped with so many legal fees between her landlord and the jurisdiction it's unbelievable. This is why I don't go to stylists who do hair out of their house. As a hairstylist.. Your husband is SO smart. When I use to work - I HATED communicating through text messaging. It was SO inconvenient. Living in LA - it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get clients to call me, instead of texting/FB me; regardless if I put up a notice.
However, as an autistic person - most of my text messages, are very unemotional. I tend to be very proper, for lack of a better term, in the way I write. I speak in a very similar manner, though, my mannerisms are incredibly different, than One might expect - as I am super excitable, happy, and incredibly approachable/easy to talk to; which, doesn’t always translate, byway of the way I write out my texts.
Though, I do understand it can be confusing to some - so, I have attempted to soften up, through text, as much as I can.
You are so spot on, about getting the feel for a stylist/client, One has yet to meet - by taking on the phone, FIRST AND FOREMOST; to get a legitimate feel for each other, first. 🙌🏻

Ain’t enough disagree left in the world to express how I feel on this here topic! This was not being direct; this was being disrespectful, unappreciative of potential income, and shows a lack of knowledge about how to talk to people, even in texts. (Most) stylists today have attitudes like this for no obvious reason, just like this one did. The stylist already told the customer about her website and the customer booked through it. The customer responds, as humans tend to do, to let the stylist knows she got an appointment on Thursday. The professional and human thing to do for the customer is not to talk down to them, but to reassure the customer with a simple “okay, see you then!” I’m absolutely positive that would take less time to text that than the janky reply she sent. If I were that customer, I would cancel my appointment and look elsewhere. My money is worth way more than to sit and receive rude service.

The stylist’s response was rude. I don’t see it as a “direct to the point” transaction. The stylist didn’t even confirm to the customer if she could do the style or not (which is one of the reasons why the customer reached out in the first place)! I would have been fine with a “Sure I can do that style for you. Please go to my booking page to schedule and appointment. The link is in the Bio.” That is a to-the-point response and 100% professional. I typically will give more grace to black owned companies because I understand the obstacles they have to face can be more difficult compared to a White or Asian business.
