I love your tutorials. mostly I love how you tell us how to do it at a low price eg making the looms. Excellent tutorials and beautiful creations. thank you x
Your welcome. I live on a shoestring budget now I'm retired from work so I have to keep it low budget or if something costs more it needs to be able to do a few projects hahah
Hi Alison I've found that using a frixion pen instead of dots then zap with a hair dryer to remove after tying works really well thanks for your video's love my new craft x
Exquisite !!!!! This is the first time I've viewed a pom pom blanket craft, needless to say I'm soooooo thrilled. I CAN'T wait to give it a try. Thank you, thank you. 🌹🌻🌼
I've never seen one done with a picture like this. It is great! Thank-you so much for sharing! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I am new at this weaving and pompoms but it is so much fun. Keep the videos coming!
I'm loving your video's, you are so clever! I'm a knitter & crocheter, but I really have to get my husband to make me a frame so I can have a go at doing this. Having six grandchildren & another one on the way blanket are always handy. Thank you I'm off to subscribe now so I can see your future endeavours. x
Thank you very much let me know how he gets on with the loom. Please join my facebook craft group Craftytwunts you will be very welcome and we have lots of diffrent crafters who share their ideas for free
I absolutely adore this. Im scared to try it tho, because im kind of confused... is this a panel, if so how do I attach it. Seems small for a blanket... im so lost. Lol
i did smaller sample sizes for this you mark out the shape and do the whole blanket but only tie the duck shape there is a lot of waste doing pictures on these type of toppers.
Monica it is done same way but you cut out a teddy shape and not a duck. Lay your teddy template down inside the frame and tie around the edge of the teddy in the same way I did the duck. If you google teddy silhouette you should find an easy teddy shape you can print on A4 paper and cut around. I have other projects on the go but I will get around to it soon xx
you will need a small loom but if you do a large design you can do it in 3 layers 1st layer is the base 2nd layer your large design. 3rd layer fill the spaces around your design. There will always be wool wastage when doing designs the smaller board does eliminate it a bit. Glad you found it useful
I use a shuttle to tie mine. Look on Amazon or eBay under the title of fishing net repair needles or shuttles. I give the cut offs to my friend and her mum who do rug making. (latch hook rug making) I have a tutorial on making the loom frame, you can make them any size you need. Just remember the bigger the blanket the more yarn it will take.
I have been enjoying your tutorials. Your channel was recommended to me. I think it was a great recommendation. Thank you for all your great videos.☑💖🎭🎨
the nails are spaced at one and a half inches apart. My small loom is 10 nails on the short sides and 11 nails on the longer sides. As long as it fits inside your standard loom it will work. It is up to you how small you make it. As long as it will sit central inside the bigger loom so your picture wont be off to one side.
If you look on ebay you will find a small frame just type in pom pom loom frame. The sizes will be there. Gil Hill who makes mine is Ill at the moment so can't make any for the time being.
please please make more of these kinds of videos your such a good teacher. I love all crafts I'm learning to knit if you have any tips about reading a knitting patten. I could watch your videos over and over I've made so much for my grand children watching you thank you
There are more on the way not for pictures as most designs like heats, trains etc will be done in the same manner. I have been messing around with my loom and have come up with a few great geometric designs just to show how easy it is to make diffrent designs by just winding the wool on differently
I don't have any babies anymore do you think it would be possible for me to make one for my double bed ? How big would the frame need to be do you think ?
the size of your bed and a huge amount of wool. They dont join very well if you try to tie a few together as the pom poms dont match up even. and it would be impossible to wash. try a bed runner instead make a long thin loom measure the length of the bed and make a loom to fit. You can always use the loom and saw it up and make a normal size loom and make rugs with it.
I didnt do any other design. It is quite easy to make your own just make dots on graph paper to represent a pom pom or google simple hamma bead designs they are done in a similar way.
Sorry, In the UK we say wool where you say yarn. We say wool even for for man made balls of yarn. Foe sheeps or animal wool we would say pure wool or angora etc So yes your regular yarn is same.
Oh no need to be sorry, I just didnt really understand. Thank you so much for yor time in replying. I am very excited to make my first pom pom blanket.
if you watch it again you can slow the tutorial down in your settings at the bottom of the youtube video. or watch any other of my pom pom ones it is the same principal xx thank you for watching.
I have never done a video on this, I think I should. 1. You make the blanket base as normal. 2. For your lines you need to do 5 rounds of the top in WHITE, working from TOP to BOTTOM load every other nail so line 1,3,5,7 etc. When working from right to left load up EVERY NAIL 3. Turn your loom over and shuttle tie FROM TOP TO BOTTOM TIE lines 1,3,5,7 etc 4. Turn the loom back to the front and cut the white pom poms only on the sections you tied. Lines 1,3,5,7, etc (the waste wool will be the untied lines) 5. Wind on the Blue wool from TOP to BOTTOM on nail 2,4,6,8 etc MISSING out nails 1,3,5,7 etc again when working across the board from right to left cover EVERY nail (go right over the top of the white pom poms) 6. Turn the board over and shuttle tie FROM TOP TO BOTTOM LINES 2,4.6 etc. 7. Turn the board back and cut the blue tied lines into pom poms. (the waste blue wool will be the wool going over the white pom poms already there) 8. Cut the blanket off the frame. You should have one white line of poms and one blue all along the blanket. As I say there is a lot of wastage.
Thank You for Your tutorials, they are so good! Could You text back in my comment reply Your Facebook page. Just couldn't hear it properly, and would like to follow Your craft on Facebook. Thank You! :)

That’s beautiful ❤️ what do you do with the yarn you cut and took out? Can you use it for tying the Pom poms

That was amazing i will give it ago i will just keep rewinding Thank you
This is how you do the heart shape too.
How did you work out the size of your inner frame please x
i made it so there was a round of pom poms all around
What size did you make your little loom and how did you space the nails?
the nails are spaced at one and a half inches apart. My small loom is 10 nails on the short sides and 11 nails on the longer sides. As long as it fits inside your standard loom it will work. It is up to you how small you make it. As long as it will sit central inside the bigger loom so your picture wont be off to one side.
Can your please let me know were you can the smaller frame or what size it please x
If you look on ebay you will find a small frame just type in pom pom loom frame. The sizes will be there. Gil Hill who makes mine is Ill at the moment so can't make any for the time being.

Alison Russell's Craft Channel ah yes I didn't think of how I'd wash it ... thanks for the advice though may try a runner
beautiful, i would like to have, if it's possible, other models of draws, except the duck
Thank you very much
I didnt do any other design. It is quite easy to make your own just make dots on graph paper to represent a pom pom or google simple hamma bead designs they are done in a similar way.
try cutting out a diffrent shape try a basic teddy bear instead of a duck. cut it to fit inside your frame.
What size is the duck cut out
I cant remember but t was somewhere around 10 inch x 10 inch. It depends on how big your blanket is and how many pom pom squares you use.
Have you got a tutorial to make a cushion covers
Personally, I would make one and sew it onto a cushion front. Use the frame you have nearest the size of a cushion.
Do you have to use wool? I am vegan so I dont use wool, so was wondering if I can use regular yarn.
How big is the smaller loom ? I seen your video for the larger loom
I cant remember it is in the shed. You could pause the video and count the nails If I remember correctly I think it is 10 x 13
so Nice! bravissima
Thank you
Thank you so much I needed to make a loom do you have template or video ?

Thank you I will
How do i do a teddy bear pattern on a pom pom blanket please x
The same way as the duck. You can make the pattern yourself very easy a lot of people use the hamma bead patterns as they work well for pom poms.
Beautiful,thank you
Glad you like this one it looks difficult but it is not.
Thanks watched this and I've made a heart and a boat pompom blacket
Great, Lynne and well done. You can do letters the same way.
