- This video will show you how to make a pom pom blanket using a loom frame with simple step by step instructions.
DIY Pom Pom blankets are a gorgeous decorative item perfect for prams, nurseries or dolls. You can find them on Etsy being sold and made to order as gifts for newborns.
We filmed this video making our very first pom pom blanket so it's a great beginners craft. You do not need knowledge of knitting or sewing, it simply involves weaving wool around the dowels of the loom.
You will need:
Pom Pom Loom
3 x 100g wool balls for the top layer (this colour will form your pom poms)
3 x 100g wool balls for the bottom layer (this colour is the reverse of the blanket)
Scissors

When you get to there end of the round do you tie the 2 ends together? Or is the end tied to a different post?

Need a lot more rounds than that with only 3 balls of wool. Blanket is very thin

Yes you can join them or make a larger frame.

Can you please let me know how to attach 2 pom pom blankets together to make a larger blanket? I ask because not everyone has the room for a large loom in their homes.
How well does it hold up in the wash?
I'd probably use a laundry garment bag to wash it.

Yes you can. You may just find you need to tie a new ball of wool onto the frame depending on how many layers you plan on doing.
@@loomingmadcrafts782 I was almost done with the second layer when the wool was empty. But how many layers is there of white in the video? And can I just tie a knot from the old wool onto the new one?

Shouldn't there be layers that go diagonal? That fills in the "holes".

What size is the frame?? And what size does the blanket come out please x
The video in the frame is 30" x 25.5" with 1.5" dowel spacing. This is the outer dimension of the frame. Once the blanket is finished it will be approximately 1-2inches smaller than the frame including the fringe. Hope this helps!

That is so wrong! The second colour needs to be done in diagonal. As you can see the end result in your isn't good at all, there is too much space and the pompom are far too little
