I have just finished my 4ft x 2ft turnover blanket in gold and orange and it looks beautiful.I am so proud of it but I couldn't have done it without your help Alison so thank you for your easy to understand tutorials.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment, I just believe everyone should be able to craft and no matter what anyone's ability is there is a craft out there that they could do so I share as much as I can for free so others can have fun making lovely projects.
I am at the tying stage I have done same as u white but done purple.. when you tie do you tie it all in white so the tie lines are all on white side then turn over and tie on other side. So tie lines are still in white but on the blue side x
Wow. What a beautiful blanket. Oh, I would love to undertake to make one of these for my daughters single bed. I've it saved for later in case I do. It'd mean making a frame up but that could be achieved no probs. Oh thank you for sharing this.
Hi Alison im trying to make the criss cross blanket but ive just started to do the shuttle thingy but the first 1 ive done just looking at the criss cross site doesnt look at puffed up and fluffy as yours? Does it just start to puff up once you cut it off the loom? Also do you shuttle the full loom then just cut the pom pom lines and leave all the rest? thanks tracy
I tie the pom pom side separatly. Then I tie the criss cross part and yes the loom keeps it tight it will slightly puff up when you take it off the loom. Well done and thank you for watching.
I have all my rounds of wool on this cross cross blanket and I am about to begin tying it. I only saw you tying the pom pom foldover part ...is the whole blanket tied the exact same way?
Finished my blanket it’s lovely! I used pink and baby white wool. Could I use thicker wool ur Pom Pom looks fuller. I wish could send u a pic so u could see it.
4 for the bottom layer and 4 for the top. you work with 4 strands at the same time. Do 5 rounds for the base in one colour and 5 for the pom pom top in another colour. You will have yarn left over mabe enough for another blanket.
Hi Alison thanks for sharing your videos they are fabulous . I’m just wondering when you did the tie up in white wool.. how is the reverse blue.. thanks
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel is that to get the tassels a different colour please? Thankyou BTW I'm loving following your videos im finding them super helpful
no the tassels will always be the same as the base colour (or whatever colour is around the nails on the bottom) as you cut the top when you make the pom poms.
I don't know but I will tell you how I deal with 400g balls and cones of yarn/wool. Standard size loom. Plan1. if it is a blanket all one colour just keep winding until all the wool is wound on. Plan2. (THIS IS WHAT i DO) Wind a ball off the 400g until you think you have half of it. Cut it, so you now have near enough 2 x 200g now do the same for both 200g you should end up with 4 100g balls ( or nearly that) I then wind the 4 balls iv made onto the loom. My daughter does my winding she will even wind those 4 balls into one. so they don't run all over the floor. I hope this helps. It may sound a lot of work but it is much easier than winding only one strand 80 odd times around the loom to get 10 full rounds of 4.
I am disabled and my hands are the only things that work. I have been bedbound for years now I have seen the same four walls all that time I would love to take learn this as a hobbies can anyone point in the direction of where to get the frame, wool and I guess I follow videos on here xxxx

Hi Alison thanks for sharing your videos they are fabulous . I’m just wondering when you did the tie up in white wool.. how is the reverse blue.. thanks

If you have 1 400g ball how many time would you go round base x

Where do you get the looms from
I can't find the amazon link 😫
my facebook group is Craft Inspirations ask for Rose Hill or look on ebay she sells looms on there.
Hi sorry I can't fine you on face book and I have tried ebay as well any chance you could send me a friend request 😊
Hi Alison, if you cut through all the white would you have all white Pom poms on one side and the blue crosses on the reverse ? Kind regards Carol
Yes, Carol, To be honest, I have never done that. I am sure it is because the cross side would not be so stable in such a large area.
How many yards would I need for a large blanket?
i dont know in yards but an average frame will use 4 balls at the same time going around 4 times but you will not use all of each ball
Muito lindo seu trabalho
thank you so much
Nice
Thank you xx
How many balls does it take to make this?
Të lumtë dora

Do you have a source for purchasing this loom in the usa? Your work is beautiful and your instructions are so simple and easy.
look on amazon for pom pom blanket loom frames some will post to USA
It could be really useful to have very slow explanations for beginners and for foreign people like me
Noted
What thickness of wool would do you use for the best results
Margaret, I always use double knitting. You can use thinner wool you will have to add an extra round and thicker just do 1 less round.

What wo do you use for making blankets....I've tried with double knitting but feel it could be thicker
I always use double knitting for these, I have tried thicker and do one less round. You dont want them too thick to tie tight.
