I think A72 is much better if you need bigger battery and bigger screen just like me and my grandma (who is these days have been staying at home long due to quarantines) and if you want faster charger that comes with the device I think A72 is the better option. Here in the Philippines though A72 is the only phone with 4 complete colour variety. I was supposed to get my grandma an A52 but here it didn't come on Awesome Violet colour option... Just Awesome Black, White & Blue (which honestly I do not prefer cuz it looks like a local brand of a detergent soap here in the Philippines. LOL! #onlyfilipinoscanrelate) whilst A72 has all 4 colours. And as for me who is using a 60Hz phone (Note10+) and a 120Hz tab (Tab S7+) I think 90Hz is a safe zone for good refresh rate while optimizing battery capacity/life. So as much as I love to agree with you guys but for me the crown goes to A72 and for me it won by a hair.

Get the A52 as it has the best price performance ratio and has almost all features from A72. Everyday users who simply wishes a good new working phone at a good price will clearly appreciate A52. A72 is also good but the price and feature gap to A52 can't really justify its higher price. This seems to follow the same pattern on how last year's A51 is a much bigger sale success: packed feature at a lower price. And also, if you really want that zoom lens, S20 FE is a very solid option. Price has gone down and you can even find one brand new cheaper than A72.
That's a very good comparison,brilliant work Wade. Although I think the A72 clicks more sharper images than the A52 and that is noticeable on those front camera samples but yes it really makes more sense to go for the A52. If telephoto lense is someone's priority, then you should go for the S20FE.
If I have to choose between A52 and A72 I'm certainly going for A72 (though still waiting for a 5G version of it) for me and my grandma cuz apart from it's the biggest phone at the A series lineup it has all the bells and whistles of being a premium midrange phone. And since it's the only one here in the Philippines that came out with the Awesome Violet colour (which my grandma seems to like) and since I don't want a smaller phone and since 5G here in the Philippines is still not a big deal then I think A72 is the best all rounder smartphone with no compromise apart from the fact that it isn't 5G ready and it's a hair shorter than the 120Hz of the A52 5G which is totally not a bad thing. And since I have a Tab S7+ running 120Hz on a 12.4" screen I find no need to have a phone with 120Hz refresh rate on a smaller screen and that 90Hz should be good enough on a phone for smooth experience and optimal battery life. And lastly since A72 has the 25W charger out of the box I think that's one of the main reason why I am picking it over A52 5G vuz they're basically same priced but seems to me that they didn't cut much corners on A72 including its in box accessories.

Other than processor I don't find much difference between A32 vs A52 or A72! Basic tasks are smooth on A32. I am using this now. If you want mobile for gaming better go for A52or A72 or any other... But for day to day usage A32 ( great phone) will save some bucks!
Nope I disagree, not exact same phones are the same, you have to be lucky to get the better one. What do I mean? You'll have exact same phones that don't give the same experience. I'm lucky with my own A52.

Really looking forward about the A52 5G version, same price as the A72 but the specs is higher, and hopefully when they launch the A72 5G, try to give it more love because the A71 was a great phone.
The deal breaker between these 2 are the 25 watt charger against the 15 watt on the 52, the 5000 Mah battery against the 4500 Mah, the 3 times optical telephoto lens against the useless dept lens for the 52. And the 0.2 inch bigger screen. For me it was the reason to choose the 72 instead of the 52. I use the 3 times optical telephoto lens a lot btw.
All I ask is that my phones have a headphone jack and expandable memory… I don't like rounded corners, notches or hole punch cameras but I will have to put up with that. I just might finally replace my S8.
I switched from S8 to A72 a few days ago. The battery is much better, but the old one was crap, and the performance is better. Camera is amazing and new android has a lot of great features. Screen is smooth and it feels and looks great. A72 is much larger and heavier and I don't like that. Also it is thicker and not as round as the S8. All in all I like it, it's a good upgrade and I would reccomend you upgrade.

I think most people slap a case on their new precious cellphones to protect it, whether it's an economical A72, or an expensive iPhone. Once the case is on, the phones will look similar, so why pay extra for vanity?

There are differences between both phones. A72 offers a slight bigger display, 8mp telephoto camera and a 5000 mah battery. Other then that, both phones are identical in everything else. Btw, both phones offer the same charging speeds up to 25w charging but both come with 15w chargers instead.
I guess the telephoto lens will be handy when you're talking outdoor photos, or sitting in the middle row at a pop concert etc. I would love to see a full camera comparison of the A52/A72/S20FE. Thanks for the great video as always. ATB MMMD
The extra 500mah battery and the 3x zoom might just make me get the 72, but my previous experience with the a50 is bad, exactly when this phone came out, my phone battery went from 24 hrs to 8 hours/day

Leave it to Samsung to basically make the same phone twice with one being slightly bigger. I have both and these two are pretty much identical. The A52 is my daily driver because I like the size of it more, but besides that they're identical. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the A72 seems to have a slightly better display.
My term ends in a little under a year, so I'll probably go with the A72 if I go with Samsung. By that point both devices will be very affordable as the Ax3 series will be around the corner, I am a junkie for large screens and batteries, even if just slightly larger, I like the idea of a telephoto camera, and the screen colour looks significantly more accurate on the 72 compared to the 52, at least in this video. With LG out of the running and Pixel phones being arguably overpriced, the only other brand I could fathom getting is Motorola/Lenovo. That, or if Apple finally makes large screen phones affordable compared to these Android devices.

HI Riva? The only thing which is missing, that there is not a significant difference within the price range between A52 and A72 in the Uk. It might be in other global markets. A52 retails at £399 where A72 retails at £419 in the Uk. For someone who is buying a smartphone around £400, wouldn't think about saving money in this category. It's only £20 difference in the Uk between both of these handsets. If you was to compare the price difference between the A52/72 and the S20FE 4G/5G then there is a big difference within the price range.

I started my own comparison between the a52,a72 and the S20FE. the S20FE isn't any better than the a52 and a72 if you include price. the other thing is that I like a audio port for my ear buds, because i'm not a fan of wireless ear buds, headphones just fit better wireless. until now I was struggling to make a choice between the a52 and a72, like you said they are almost identical and you explained some parts of the specs I didn't know the meaning of at first. you just saved me €/$100 by explaining the functions. Guys, If anyone bought the A52, inside the Box, there is another box with a pin on top. Inside the box of the pin, you will find a phone cover. I didn't know there was a phone case and was actually very careful with the phone but the next day, I noticed that the box of the pin is too heavy for manuals. I opened the box and saw a phone case

Honestly I think the a72 has better camera from all the videos I was watching , and if you want to enhance things and make them really pop I recommend editing the pictures, add more light , saturation etc

In my country Malaysia ,A52 cost RM 1500 and A72 cost RM 1900 which makes me feel that A52 is more worthy. By comparison I rather choose S20 FE if in between S20 FE and A72. S20 FE cost RM 2000 which only difference with the A72 for RM100😂

Really weird how Samsung has set the line up this year. Not a single reason to get the A72 other than a better zoom maybe. It gets even more weird when you compare it to the A52 5G, which is actually a better phone. Very disappointed with the A72.

The a51 was the only phone to get near the iPhone 11 in global sales in 2020 and the A71 was nowhere near as good a seller. It seems obvious why Samsung would focus on the A52 and not bother with the A72?

While they appeared to be similar, we need to think of the cost to upgrade to a 25W charger and type c to type c cable (Which costs extra and makes the price gap smaller). And the thing you didn't mention is A72 has a dual optical image stabilization system, while A51 has a single optical image stabilization system.
Where I live the A72 costs 32% more than the A52 with only difference being that the A72 is 256GB and the A52 is 128GB. Everything else is identical, besides the obvious design differences.
Hi guys, I’m currently saving up for my first phone and I am choosing on which of the two is the best for me. I would like to choose one with great performance, and great battery. I will most probably just use it for social apps like TH-cam and Facebook and for online class, although I do play some games, I will just play for around 30-45 minutes. I also don’t mind camera quality for just as I said, mostly just TH-cam and online class. That’s all and thank you so much!
Main reason I'm going for A72 is the screen size. That's the only game changer for me. The price is okay. If I wanted higher end specs then I'd go for flagship phones with even bigger screens (Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra)
I'm getting this over the s21 flagship range because you get expandable storage & headphone jack. I don't give a dam about the plastic back as it just makes the phone more durable. To me the s21 range this year is an utter flop!
What about the screen quality and calibration? I saw some noticeable differences between the A51 and A71, and it seems to be the case here as well I may be nitpicking, but even in this video I can see the A52 is a tad on the cooler, blueish side of calibration, and screen brightness and color profile may differ too... they are two different parts per se... but the cost savings must come from somewhere, and I don't think the chunkier battery or the sensor swap are the whole reason for it...

HI Riva? The only thing which is missing, that there is not a significant difference within the price range between A52 and A72 in the Uk. It might be in other global markets. A52 retails at £399 where A72 retails at £419 in the Uk. For someone who is buying a smartphone around £400, wouldn't think about saving money in this category. It's only £20 difference in the Uk between both of these handsets. If you was to compare the price difference between the A52/72 and the S20FE 4G/5G then there is a big difference within the price range.

Thank you so much! I really like your reviews/comparisons. I have been struggling to find the video that explains it perfectly like you did. I started my own comparison between the a52,a72 and the S20FE. the S20FE isn't any better than the a52 and a72 if you include price. the other thing is that I like a audio port for my ear buds, because i'm not a fan of wireless ear buds, headphones just fit better wireless. until now I was struggling to make a choice between the a52 and a72, like you said they are almost identical and you explained some parts of the specs I didn't know the meaning of at first. you just saved me €/$100 by explaining the functions. Thanks again and I will check your TH-cam account when I want a new phone in like 3-4 years probably, i will stay tuned aswell.

I don't see the point of getting the A72 over the M51/A52 5g/A71
Guys, If anyone bought the A52, inside the Box, there is another box with a pin on top. Inside the box of the pin, you will find a phone cover. I didn't know there was a phone case and was actually very careful with the phone but the next day, I noticed that the box of the pin is too heavy for manuals. I opened the box and saw a phone case
The spec that I overlooked is the bigger battery, Samsung did well with A52, gonna sell like hot cakes

The s20FE 5g has been as low as £400 in the UK and seems a bargain compared to the A52 and A72? I do not understand why Samsung fans do not buy last year's discounted flagships rather than the mid-range A-line that have many compromises?

Honestly I think the a72 has better camera from all the videos I was watching , and if you want to enhance things and make them really pop I recommend editing the pictures, add more light , saturation etc

In my country Malaysia ,A52 cost RM 1500 and A72 cost RM 1900 which makes me feel that A52 is more worthy. By comparison I rather choose S20 FE if in between S20 FE and A72. S20 FE cost RM 2000 which only difference with the A72 for RM100😂

My 730g A71 is slightly better than 720g, so I'm glad there's no reason to upgrade yet.
Actually 720g is better than 730g, it keeps the low temperature for more time, and the gpu has higher clock, + 250mhz if i'm not mistaken

A52 NO image stabilization vs A72 image stabilization - the first Samsung midrange with it.

Really weird how Samsung has set the line up this year. Not a single reason to get the A72 other than a better zoom maybe. It gets even more weird when you compare it to the A52 5G, which is actually a better phone. Very disappointed with the A72.
A7x series have always being a disappointment.

This year a52 has improved alot and a72 is even less worth it. Even a52 5g is better than this phone.
The a51 was the only phone to get near the iPhone 11 in global sales in 2020 and the A71 was nowhere near as good a seller. It seems obvious why Samsung would focus on the A52 and not bother with the A72?

No idea why samsung put the snap 720g on the A52, whats the point of the A72 then....
S20FE vs A72??
While they appeared to be similar, we need to think of the cost to upgrade to a 25W charger and type c to type c cable (Which costs extra and makes the price gap smaller).
And the thing you didn't mention is A72 has a dual optical image stabilization system, while A51 has a single optical image stabilization system.
Thats why i have purchased a72..

Where I live the A72 costs 32% more than the A52 with only difference being that the A72 is 256GB and the A52 is 128GB. Everything else is identical, besides the obvious design differences.
Hi guys, I’m currently saving up for my first phone and I am choosing on which of the two is the best for me. I would like to choose one with great performance, and great battery. I will most probably just use it for social apps like TH-cam and Facebook and for online class, although I do play some games, I will just play for around 30-45 minutes. I also don’t mind camera quality for just as I said, mostly just TH-cam and online class. That’s all and thank you so much!

Why does the a52's screen look a bit yellower than a72 in the vid
Main reason I'm going for A72 is the screen size. That's the only game changer for me. The price is okay. If I wanted higher end specs then I'd go for flagship phones with even bigger screens (Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra)
I'm getting this over the s21 flagship range because you get expandable storage & headphone jack. I don't give a dam about the plastic back as it just makes the phone more durable. To me the s21 range this year is an utter flop!

What about the screen quality and calibration? I saw some noticeable differences between the A51 and A71, and it seems to be the case here as well
I may be nitpicking, but even in this video I can see the A52 is a tad on the cooler, blueish side of calibration, and screen brightness and color profile may differ too... they are two different parts per se... but the cost savings must come from somewhere, and I don't think the chunkier battery or the sensor swap are the whole reason for it...
