This engine is absolutely incredible. The power it's putting out considering displacement and natural aspiration is a true engineering feat. And combining it with a lightweight chassis tuned for the road and every day driving.... Perfection. It's a shame us normal people will never get to drive one.
Yeah such a shame most won't however s2000 exists with manual, 9k rpm, similar hp/litre and around 400 lbs lighte with better weight distribution for a fraction of the cost of one of these
Relate to both Back in high school my one of good friends and I would test drive cars.. our beat time was the 914 .. like a go cart.. we also had a ride in 964 other muscle cars.. and drove the 300z I think or 280z with the trick suspension 1987-88 error.

It was probably a 1998 Honda Civic type R that I took on a test drive back in the day that gave me the same vibes as you guys in this video. As far as I was concerned it was a racing car and I had never driven anything like it before, and I would never again because I couldn't afford that thing, as much as I wanted to believe I could. The red line, the shifting...OMG...20 plus years on and I still remember that test drive! I have followed you guys for a long time and I am so glad to see a video again where you are both just so giddy about the car, and the rare experience of driving. The incredibly rare shared experience that the two of you have with driving this car is just so amazing. Congratulations and keep up the amazing work!

What a way to blow out 2023 guys!!!! Also, according to the Porsche website "Everything you need to know about the Porsche 911 S/T" (US) the S/T badge still means Sport/Touring just without the focus on track capabilities like the original was in 1969.
I'm far from a Porsche guy but this one works for me. Manual, RWD, sounds excellent, looks interesting without being over the top, no gawdy and cheap looking floating screen, and that colour is beautiful.

When I went to the Conti website to get my rebate, there was a long list of questions on what influenced me to buy. There was TV but no TH-cam option. I found no where to attribute the purchase to you guys. FYI
I’m a 911 turbo guy had a 996 turbo stick and now a 997 turbo Tiptronic and would never buy a newer one but I must say this 911 S/T is pretty sweet man would I like to do a special order on this one but that will never happen either. Great video!

@@DHKarol ya I love the analog tach on my 992 so is disappointing. But it's still better than all competitors. Ferrari, BMW, McLaren, Audi, Lotus, etc all went to digital dash a long time ago. And Porsche also offers the most physical controls. Climate, audio, and drive modes are all physical buttons unlike competitors. And no haptic non-sense on the steering wheel.
@@The_Stanman u r right. I have 991.1 c2s but I’m lookin for an upgrade to 991.2 gt3 best value for money imo and definitely more budget friendly, at least for me haha. They make the cars better each generation but right now I strongly feel that 991.2 or 992.1 are going to be most desired ones in the future. Anything with that 4.0 NA or old 991.1 with NA as well due to sound
@@DHKarol I actually had a 991.1 C2S before my 992! Bought it bc I wanted an NA engine. That engine is incredible - much better than 718's 4.0L IMO. Unfortunately a truck hit me on the highway and totalled it. Ended up replacing with my 992. I was impressed by how big of an improvement the 992 was (steering, turn-in, interior). But I still miss the NA engine everyday. I agree any NA models will hold their value very well. But I don't think 991.2 or 992.1 Carreras will hold their value particularly well (relative to other 911s) bc they represent the 911's early transition turbo'd Carreras, which will continue to get better. My hope is the 992.2 GT3 Touring adopts some of the road-going focus of this S/T with the NA 4.0L. That'll be the perfect 911 IMO. 991.2 GT3 is also an amazing choice.
