Haven't had any issues with mine but nice to know if I do the repair looks pretty straight forward. I know you can also but a new hull for about$1500. I wonder how difficult it would be to swap the engine and pump to a new hull. Subscribed!
After the repair, can this be colour matched, then base coated an clear coated over. What type of clear would you use to blend it out if it can blend into the hull material. ?
Great job doing the repair … sucks that your hull did crack that’s the only thing I dislike about the GTI & spark hulls is that it’s composite plastic but nonetheless thanks for putting out the video for the people that do end up having their hulls crack in the future which is inevitable.
Love the hull on my Spark, everytime I crack it u use iron heat gun, go deep along the crack and after I come back with a flat head to smooth it out, way faster compared to fiberglass hull.

Alright I’ll take your word for it. Do you think McGuires black polish with a sponge would rub out some of the white? If that helps at all then I may just polish it up and call it a day.
@@joshanthony5484 not sure but I sanded the area I fixed and it leveled it and made it look decent but not perfect. I you just got scratches id leave it bc you’ll have a blemish where you sanded it
This will sound crazy but I have exact the same Jetski and the reason I bump in to your video is because I cracked mine in the same side 😅 I have an insurance and I was wondering if that’s something they would send to fix or totaled the ski, after watching you video I think they may have it fix Thanks
Awesome video great work only one suggestion is before you start sanding and welding maybe take tape off the area with a plastic bag connected to the base of the ski and the other bag over the top of the ski so you have like a small work area that way any sanding or welding none of the debris will get into the rest of the ski but otherwise I thought it was fantastic very informative I do not own a plastic hole ski but this was great to see I am very surprised that there is no type of sealant that goes between the base and the top when separating or putting together didn't even look like there was a gasket... Thank you again for sharing that that was fantastic
Way way way to much work , i cracked my seadoo.spark hull and im asuming same material, all i did was use a iron heat gun and melted the hull deep along the crack after came back with a flat head iron and smoothed it out, same size like urs took me top 4 hours .The sticks you used dont have fiber glass in it and are weak, as long as you arent missing a chuck use the existing hull material and will work much better and stronger.
I mean, if you drive into another ski on a fiberglass hull you're going to damage it too. Seen plenty of gouges through fiberglass from someone hitting a Dock, other watercraft, or just a good bump off a rock in some shallows.

That's the reason why i prefer gel coat hull over the polytec...Will keep my 2014 GTR very long time 😁

No it’s all its original plastic color. It never was painted on this exact model

Harbor freight for the plastic welding gun and pp+gf plastic rods
