Great video guys. It's so wholesome to see you guys make ice cream as a family activity. The icy texture you see is due to the nature of the way the creami works. The mixture is not continuously agitated as it freezes, unlike traditional ice cream, which leads to large ice crystals instead of tiny ice crystals. That is why it has an icy texture.
I believe that fat and sugar plays a pretty big role in the ice crystal formation, so by increasing the amount of those two, it should lead to a smoother ice cream. But ultimately, if you prefer the texture of storebought ice cream, then a traditional ice cream maker is the way to go. I personally wouldn't say that either is better than the other, because some people like that texture from the creami.

Overall Recipes need to be R&D a few times.
Trial and error is basic important of moving forward.
When making ice cream we like to measure the sugar in brix, aiming 28 to 32%. Fat is important but not to much.
After getting the recipe right Pacoing ice-cream. The ice cream should be freeze or refrigerate to build the right consistency normally 15-45 min

Very helpful review, I understood that if you are practical on ice cream you can make a good one with this machine.
There are a lot of recipe you can do to make similar to a cream, and if the result after churn it’s to loose, just put it back to freezer to set and will be like a ice cream

Would be interesting if you could try the ice cream produced by a Pacojet (the more expensive high-end model that Ninja Creami is basically a knock-off of), and tell us how that compares. I'm assuming the Pacojet is much more expensive for a reason.
