Rosie you are like a magical forest
dwelling elf. Building, cooking, sewing. Ethereal and magical. Stories will be told about you 💖
Haha love that "magical forest dwelling elf" 😂
Rosie, don't be overwhelmed by everything that needs doing. With so many projects, you can pick and choose which ones to do and in which order, such as that annoying door! Taking time to sew is so enjoyable, almost a reprieve from carpentry work and something you do just for yourself, and you so deserve to spoil yourself, a nice balance of time. Life can be so disappointing, such as the bike incident, however, walks in the woods and lunch on a blanket surrounded by nature is a wonderful way to compensate. Thanks again for sharing your life with us! So many of us wish we had taken the road less traveled as you have. You are beautiful inside and out, here's a warm hug of encouragement! Please post again soon!
Rosie once you have finished this room organise the garden because this will be your relaxing area, a bit of organic vegetables and you’ll be able to enjoy the summer which is short - then organise the rest in order of priority. Don’t rush because you will get frustrated. Really enjoying your journey ❤
Those are typical chores for a Northern Climate. On the first warm Spring day, you just don't know where to start.
❤
'Okay, i'm going to eat pastries now' - the correct solution to everything! Great video, thanks Rosie! Edit: Love that old putty-white colour for the windows/door.
pastries are awesome
Handmade is Imperfect. You will be the only person who knows where the imperfections are. The rest of us just marvel at your skills!
I was once told that you can’t eat an elephant all at once. (Just a saying, I love elephants). He told me I could eat an elephant a bit at a time. I really needed to hear that when I was overwhelmed with grief from a dying parent and overloaded with the responsibility’s of preparing the estate. It really stuck with me and I DID get through it. Just takes time and diligence
Wise words.
It will all get done eventually... you are so talented and a joy to watch!!
I also was tasked with a parent’s estate. Very difficult, but I got through it telling myself, one day at a time.
I’m sorry for your loss & so glad that your friend’s words helped you through an extremely trying time.
Or there is a saying = Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day.
She paints, she builds, she sews, she plants, she cooks. You Rosie amaze me with your mad skills. Always believe you can do it, because every week you show us you can.
The filmmaking is reaching new heights now. The camera work on close and medium shots is slicker, the end was especially strong, pulling the emotion together. Love the enriching tone of how bringing simplicity and beauty together strikes such a plaintiff chord, and because its so personal, it has much more of an impact, telling its oddly detailed story. You leave out so much, to really good effect.
What a video, everything is there; shopping for wood, carpentry, cooking, sewing, painting, sowing seeds, modelling, nature with relaxing music; and so well edited!!
I love the fabric in the cupboard door. It is going to look stunning when completed.
Me too, I assume it's linen. Beautiful.
Rosie deserves an Oscar for this channel 🤩
Agree!!😍
She does! What a feast for eyes, ears and soul.
Nothing handmade looks perfect, that’s its charm 😊
That’s what I believe too! And the results are unique.
One step at a time. Less to think about less stress. It will be done eventually. Look what you have accomplished already.
Spot on. As the old proverb says, the journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step. Patience is a virtue. Getting stressed means you need a break, from work and maybe TH-cam. It will enable Rosie to look back at what she has achieved and count her blessings. Peace.
Dear Rosie, one day you will walk in the forest not alone but with your man. Be very blessed!
So pleased I'm not the only one feeling overwhelmed with renovation and maintenance. It's hard work and time consuming. your doing a wonderful job. Don't loose the sparkle for your dream 🥰
Early spring overwhelm! :)
Love Sunday mornings when you upload. Sat in bed with a cup of coffee marvelling at your skills and endless determination to complete all your tasks.
"I'm also wearing socks and sandals." MADE MY DAY.
Me too!
Me too, too
Me too!
And me!
Count me in too lol My daughter looks and just says oh Mother
Do you know how incredible you are? Thank you for sharing your struggles and achievements in such an honest and open way. It's good to know there are people like you in the world, you help to make it a better place X
Nothing gives me more joy then seeing women take on building projects with amazing skill like you. You are learning as you go. Even if it’s scary at first you get better w the more you do. I’m just always impressed and proud of you.
Rosie you are a woman with many talents. Thank you for allowing us to see your beautiful builds, your cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and painting. I so enjoy watching your creative endeavors.
You’re hilarious in a very subtle way, the way you look at us through the camera draws us in totally
I don’t know what your window of good weather is but you certainly have enough outdoor projects to fill it, maybe your parents will come visit and help again?
Rosie to say that you are one in a million would really be an understatement and I’m thrilled I came upon your channel. I’m always sad when your videos end because they fill me with awe and hope. Thank you for letting us in.
🥰🙏🏻
Love the wardrobe door. From the cuts in the wood (never thought of using a drill to get that middle bit out) the use of the fabric in the middle. Exceptional Rosie. Love your visions becoming realities
Don’t be so hard on yourself! You are doing an amazing job!
I think many of us feel overwhelmed at this time of year because we have spent the winter thinking about projects we want to do. I know I sure do!
Just take things one step at a time.
Quite understand how you feel. At 65, a single woman, for many, many years, I am always overwhelmed in Spring, the weeks of new beginnings. With new determination we start out with lots of projects to do, ones that were left from last year and the new ideas we have for this year.
Don't stress, you cannot do the work of of two and taking on something new is always an experiment - growing vegetables included.
Your videos are so refreshing. I was looking forward to seeing a new one today and there it was! Perhaps you could make a cart that would accommodate your wood haul. That might work for you. It is so much fun to watch your work completing your home. One day at a time. One project at a time. Take care.
😼yikes I'm only 44 seconds into the video and I'm already feeling overwhelmed at the thought of all you have to do, it reminds me of my own life ...and I am also wearing socks and Birkenstocks :) One thing I love about your videos is that you never paint yourself as a super hero, yet so much of what you do is INCREDIBLE !! its unique, its visually beautiful and so quirky too ~ Thank you. I'm always thrilled to see a new video pop up in my feed !!
Let's start a socks and sandals club :D :D The projects just keep piling up! Just got to start somewhere and be okay with it if (when) some will need to get moved to next year, I guess!
@@wildrosieanother socks and sanders wearer…we are the practical ones
Okay with socks and sandals club .
I will join.😊
I have qualified for this club all my life, now it comes.
So I sit down with a cup of tea, looking forward to a relaxing video of Rosie renovating her front room...
Congratulations Rosie, not even 45 seconds in and you managed to get my anxiety sky high. My to do list isn't even half as long and now I feel like I'm wasting my time...
Don't worry, my list may be long but I'll probably end up doing one thing and then winter starts again!
Rosie, your door hardware/hinges ... they are adjustable on three planes (x, y, z).... so you can get closer to your filler board, you can raise them, lower them, and get them further/closer away from the frame just by adjusting the corresponding screws without having to "redo" everything. Hope the helps.
I hope Rosie reads your comment.
@@elizabethconway4472 me too 😊
I was telling my husband how much I look forward to your videos. Your plans are well thought out, the texture of your fabric on the doors elevate all your wood work. The corner clamps are on my tool list now, I hope they sponsor future videos as their sales go up. You’re one of my favorites! Well done!
Ask anyone who has had a house professionally built. Some things turn out less than perfect. And that's okay. When you painted the front door from blue to white, wow, it made the entrance look twice as spacious! That space can turn out quite lovely with a little love. To end, your skirt and top are just precious! They look quite at home in your magical forest. Again, how blessed you are. And we are blessed that you share it all with us!💓
I see that you actually do read the comments. That is good.
I am from the United States and a home gardener. I understand your frustration with gardening, as it can be a hit or miss thing. I want you to find a friend who is a farmer or gardener locally. There is a lot you can learn from them, such as how to create a deer proof and rabbit proof fence and what grows well in your area and how to grow it. It is important if you want to learn to be more self sufficient.
I also suggest you keep a journal of your garden-what you plant, when, and the progress over time. It can be a valuable learning tool. Have a great summer! 🌞
I am a little late at saying this but, I don't care what google says, you are still a young lady. I'm 71. You continue to amaze me with your determination. God bless.
Hi Rosie, great to see you never run out of DIY Projects.
Every time I watch an update from you, I keep seeing a cat roaming with you, hmm......
They are amazing companions and teachable. Our kittens grew and responded to the same commands as our dog, loved long strolls through the forest, brought the odd mouse to the back door with great pride.
A cat would suit quite well, wouldn't it! But then I couldn't just get up and leave anymore, and that would be a problem!
Rosie
That’s not a problem because humans depend on animals but animals not depend in any except nature.😊
@@wildrosiedear Rosie, I wish you had volunteers from your subscribers base to come over the WE and help you around
@@amywatson7 I think I should just adopt a fox or something! :)
@@wildrosiea fox! Ha! But really cats are pretty independent. I can leave mine w food and water for up to 3 days. Prolly more if we absolutely had to. My dog?no way. Not even 1 day. But cats, yes. You think oh, they’ll run off thinking they’ve been left behind!! But no. They are fine.
Rosie. As I always say to my beautiful child who often gets overwhelmed, just do what you can and what matters the most to you first. You have the rest of your life to live in your beautiful house and while I understand the jobs are important to you, you will burn out and be no use. Maybe sit for an hour with your list and prioritise what will make you happy to complete first. Sending strength and happiness to you.❤
Excellent advice
Such an important message for the overwhelmed
I honestly think you're amazing AND inspirational. Anytime my ADHD takes over and makes me freeze up and feel like I can't do my art, I watch your videos and see you building your own dang house, your way, and I'm inspired again. So thank you, you awesome unicorn of a human being.
Your patience and attention to detail is extremely admirable! I love watching you create this lovely little cabin. Thank you for sharing this with us! 💖
Someone probably has already mentioned coffee grounds and cinnamon as good natural repellents for the ants. To ensure that they don't come back to your doorsteps you could plant lavender beside the steps, it helps to keep the ants away in the future too (and it smells so nice! you could dry the flowers after summer and put them in your new wardrobe to keep it bug free and fresh too)😊 This whole video was so beautiful, the editing, the music, just everything. Thank you for the small movie to enjoy while slurping my sunday afternoon coffee 🥰
One of my dad's many saying seems appropriate here: "you can do ANYthing, you just can't do EVERYthing." One step at a time... Breathe, appreciate, repeat. Blessings, Rosie.
The combination of wood and fabric is genius!
It’s amazing how your carpentry skills are getting better and better! Amazing! You should be so proud of yourself!
These videos are so wonderful in all ways. They calm me, they inspire me, sometimes they awe me with the beautiful drone footage. I really love them. Thanks for making them!
From somewhere in the wilds of Sweden we get, every other week or so, a delightful vlog. Thank-you Roaming Wild Rosie.
You’ve created a fairy tale, a mythological, enigmatic series here, all the better because you are really making it all happen.
Love the fabric insets on the doors. Another texture among all of the wood is lovely. Nice job!
Always good to see you Rosie. Love your new outfit and the new cabinet door. I’m so thankful I found your channel last year. God bless you and see you next time!❤️
"Yard by yard life is hard. Inch by inch it's a cinch." I am always overwhelmed in the spring but I just start knocking off small tasks.
You’re special person with the special talent & life, which I love it & admire you ❤
Yes, she is and is very inspiring to her women viewer's 😊
Hi Rosie! You uploading is just what i needed to calm my mind down a lil bit. Love your videos ❤
Being imperfect just shows it’s hand made .
When im overwhelmed i make a list and start with the easiest and fastest things first to get inspiration to do the harder things
Work within the seasons. Planting, exterior projects, firewood, indoor things when it rains❤️ You are so smart!!
I love your creativity, especially with designing and sewing clothes. I enjoy watching you glide through the forest in your pretty outfits.🌲
Wardrobe doors are going to look fabulous. Looking great so far.
Everything will come together in the end. Give yourself a break 😊.
Cute dress Rosie❤️…. sox and sandals warmer feet!.. You seem so happy, so content. The Artist, constantly at work. You’re amazing! Thank you for being awake at 4a.m. so special. Careful with those hands🙏🏾
Just as I thought: 'Please don't get injured while working with the Japanese saw!', you put on the glove and commented my thoughts - that was quite adorable!
As always a great pleasure experiencing your work-in-progress, thank you!
Your videos are so peaceful. It really imparts a small sense of what it must be like living in such a wonderful place. Take care and can't wait to see all the beautiful things that will be.
you are a fabulous film maker, carpenter, sewer, cooking, planter. keep going Happily
I find watching you is a calm to my whole being. Love your skirt and top. The fabric doors. I will be watching more.
Chip...Chip...Chip away at the stone, Rosie. Don't overburden your mind, dear. Every project is an opportunity to keep the mind occupied. What is life without labor but a sedentary stalemate between the world and our function within it; keeping in mind that failure is a lack of functionality. The mountain isn't the goal, but rather the ascension is what keeps the mind, body and heart focused on purpose. You're a rockstar. I've been away, but now I'm back and ready to enjoy your journey again. 😊😊😊 P.S. TortillasAreNotBiceps former aka.
What you’ve written is beautiful.
Rosie, you have my vote for being the most glamorous, fashionable DIY TH-camr ever!
Ofc everything is overwhelming when you look at it all at once.
There are many ways to help yourself to feel less overwhelmed, be it taking it day by day. Project by project or go full sit down and write down all project you can think of and prioritize what to do and maybe even go so far as to plan when to do what etc.
Whichever way you go, looking at it all at once will always be very overwhelming, especially with a project home like yours.
You can do it❤
She is living the essence of life. No stress about useless things. Just life in its purest form. I strive to have this one day.
Loved the intro, Rosie, and your humor!
Such precision on both the wardrobe door and the skirt and top, it all turned out so well. The fabric in the door is beautiful and will add a nice softness to all the wood. It's all coming along and you will get it all done.... in time.
Every moment is precious and unique. No rush to do everything all at once. Just enjoy the rhythm of time and follow its flow. Good luck and God bless.❤
Anything you lay your hands on turns out perfect. Just believe in yourself....God gave you so many talents❤
Hi Rosie!
You inspired many people.
Such a fragile, tenacious, determinates girl and how far she got eith on own streng!
understandable That you are tired. Up and down is a cirvle. Maybe it is time to fill you up before you start climb an another hill…
We are with you.
We’ll send the energy to You that you can reach your goals!
Hugs frim Hungary!
Annamaria
You constant attention to detail is something to be admired. I never doubt that what to make, whether it be with wood or fabric will be perfect. I see you have a friendly deer, he’s probably wondering when your garden is being planted.
I love your videos, they show how much power a person has within themselves, even living alone, even without many comforts - you can be thriving, accomplished and happy
OMG that sounded so aweful. Glad you were not hurt and your bikes all good. As far as your house goes....when you own a home it is never finished. Hate to break that to you lol You will always find new projects and more fab things to add. I love watching you do all your projects. You remind me of a younger me :) I am now 63 but I live alone too and do all sorts of projects on my home. I finally learned to use a circular saw and a jigsaw and just finished making a gate for my front yard. Thanks for the inspiration and keep the story going I look so forward to each and every one :)
I usually get an overwhelm-burn out in May... all the pressure of things wanting to burst into life all at once. There's nothing better than a RWR Forest Catwalk show to end with! I really feel like your filming and editing skills are amazing, such lovely light on the japanese saw and all the tiny measuring details being captured. Five different shots of each step... its editing heaven!! I'm so jealous I want to be able to make videos as beautiful as yours but I'm not even scraping anywhere close. It's very inspiring I need to study them more. You've totally nailed the 'creative DIY nature' niche. I'm so in awe of all of it and happy for you that you're getting recognition for your excellence. The wardrobes are ACE.
Hej hej Rosie, we feel you - it is also overwhelming to renovate our tiny 200-year-old homestead in central Sweden. In addition, it’s not possible to always be there (Germany/Switzerland) and we also shoot short films parallel to the carpenters work and gardening. Compliments on the discipline how you stick to your work in order to make progress little by little. Being totally off-grid we only use battery-powered tools with a minimal solar system. Only necessary renovations like windows can be done otherwise we try to leave the house as it is. You're also much more skilled at craftsmanship and design. There’s still a lot to learn, so watching TH-cam vids is a must. Your sewing projects are a reminder that I want to make clothes with the little Bernina for a long time. So far it’s only curtains for the house. Carry on, girl! Ulla
I have read the comments Rosie and it is plain to see how many of us are cheering you on from the sidelines. Keep going. Btw, LOVE the fabric inserts on the cabnet doors. I can't believe you found time to sew that precious outfit. Thank you for another wonderful Sunday morning. Love from Texas.
Dear Rosie I again tell you that I admire your guts & abiliy to do difficult designs and how you use that Japanese saw and with limited tools achieve master pieces. I send you endurance and power to overcome the unnessasary things happening like that bl...dy lorrie driver. Living on my own and being full time in a wheelchair make me appreciate the mental stength you have. GOOD ON YOU and I enjoy watching your video's. 👍
'Do we like this?' YES, we like it (the wardrobe)! Choosing fabric with just the right degree of sheerness, and pulling it taut across the frame, creates something akin to a Shoji screen. So elegantly minimalist!
Good to see you again Rosie. I have faith you’ll get it all done and then some! I’m glad to see you taking safety precautions seriously. I’m a bit tired of DIYers who act like they won’t be needing their ears, eyes or backs 10 years from now.
Hi Rosie, I know exactly what you mean by being overwhelmed. The to-do list is Neverending. However, first things first. When the weather is nice, tackle the little things outside first. That way, you get them all out of the way asap. Then you can tackle the next little things and so on for as long as the weather is nice. The inside projects leave them for when the weather is not good so you can work inside. For the inside projects, they have to deal with wood. On a good beautiful day, cut all the wood with the measurements you need and put them inside the house where you will be working later on. It will help you greatly if you number them, put a painters tape and write over it what it's for. The way when the weather is cold, it rains you to have everything cut ready to assemble. Hope it helps.
One of my favorite episodes yet! All 3 things you are so good at! Woodworking, sewing, and making tasty looking nibbles. The hike at the end looked like it was magical, especially in your beautiful new outfit. I am blown away by your talent!
"do we like this" yes, we love the door. Looks amazing. I love your fabric choice. You got so much done in this video. Great job. Your dress is lovely
Just look back what you did acomplish so far. You are doing an excellent job in your own pace and that house is stunning❤
Always interesting and clever, thank you for teaching nervous women that they can take a risk and just DO IT
You consistently blow me away with your skills and vision for your home. The painted door is looking so fresh, the wardrobe fabric door...OMG so beautiful, your outfit...jealous!! I just so love watching you 💜
One step at a time. One task at a time, or maybe an outdoor task weather permitting and an indoor task on rainy days. Rosie you will reach your goal, and you seem to have the patience.💚
I'm impressed, Rosie. You are becoming very accomplished at building and problem solving. Two especially necessary tools in everyday life. Bravo!😊
Rosie I love watching your videos since they often help me feel calmer. Watching you build your house (literally)piece by piece feels so refreshing and I love the aesthetics😊
Excellent Rosie! Glad to see the clamps holding down the wood and the hand protection! Lovely Idea for the design of the closet doors! 😊
Those wardrobe doors are beautiful, your work is so intricate 🙌 you got a lot done and it’s good to change things up a bit, different projects for the day ❤
To tension the fabric on the frame, start at the centre of one side, then the opposite centre, the the other pair of sides and work out from there … always tensioning opposite sides as you go if that makes sense. When prioritising, mostly the construction projects can be done any weather but the gardening, where you have such a short season, needs to be sorted early. Ideally beds should be prepared 6-8 weeks in advance which is difficult when just yourself. Perhaps next fall when you harvest last crops build up mulch on the beds then so as soon as it warms up it will break down improving the soil. Dark mulches capture more heat warming the soil enabling crops to get going sooner in the spring. Also, you might be safer lining up your loads in line with the trailer and bike. Loading asymmetrically you’re more likely to come a cropper with passing trucks
I love your new dress. Great design. You look great in it too. Also, your cinematography improved a lot. I think you are naturally gifted in this.
Every Sunday I always take my time to see a new posted video from you … it has become a lovely routine to look forward to do - and I do so just before I go to sleep. Thank you for sharing your life and craft with us! I think your beautiful soul touch us all. I wish you and this lovely community a good night. Greetings from Sweden❤
I really look forward to your videos & realize what special talents & drive you have! When I get too rushed with things I remember my grandmother saying " the hurrier you go..the behinder you get!" So true! The results with your work & style are really welcome & cute (of course)! Love your natural look, skill & can do personality!
I love how you bring beauty, texture and richness to your vlogs Thankyou ❤
the top and skirt is lovely. sand the door primer lightly and put a 2nd coat of primer on the door will look much nicer
Rosie, this video cracks me up. “I’m going to eat pastries now.” Love it! ❤
You will figure away. I think the sewing can be your escape. One thing at a time. You will get there and we will be watching amazed at your talents. Today it’s Mother’s Day and I said to my family. Make me a bit of breakfast so I can watch Rosie and then you can decide how to spoil me.
Amazing the difference one can make with a little hard work and a can of paint. Your outfit turned out sweet and your wardrobe door too! ❤
Aww Rosie 😊 I love the doors! And the ending of you sat under the tree is picture perfect! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everything you do looks pretty perfect to me, Rosie.
Haha that intro showing all of the things you want to do was so Wes Anderson!
Rosie, I loved your idea to use that fabric on your cupboard doors! You are so clever and innovative. You have married clean lines with function and the result is great! That beat up old door looks so much better with just the white primer coat on it. Don’t be too hard on yourself with all the tasks you have going on at once- somehow things always get done if you just nibble away at your list. Great episode! ❤️
Impeccable cinematography *chef's kiss*
Just amazed how multi-talented you are! Congrats and really an Oscar to you for this channel, cant stop wathing! Love all you do, especially excited about the wardrobe coming.
Your talents are endless. I love love the fabric choice for the screens and skirt/top. Don't forget to stand back and take some time to see, what you have created. Its incredible xx
Dag vanuit Menorca!
