With clean oil on the HRV, it's hard to see the level on that orange dip stick, easier to see it when the oil gets a little dirty.

I like to use the Honda fluid but if you use an aftermarket fluid just make sure it is comfortable

That car is a pain in the rear end to check. There is a plug under the car that you need to remove and then you fill the trans from the tube on top until it starts to leak out from the hole were the plug was. Very messy job. Good luck ,Jim
