I think this would be a great addition to any fishing youtuber. So much happens when you least expect it and this will certainly help capture those moments.
This was a neat unboxing Aaron. I’m excited to see you put this to work so we can see all the neat features you’re able to draw out of it. I really enjoy your editing style from the camera roll when talking about stabilization to cutting to B roll when talking about not using much B roll. Glad I found this channel. It’s very encouraging to a newb like me. Keep it up bud! -Marc
Thanks Marc. So far I'm definitely having fun with this new camera! I try to get a little better with my editing and filming each month. Glad you appreciated the humor on the stabilization clip. :P
@@AaronHuntFishing I’m with you 100%…every time I edit a vid I learn a new trick or feature. I just wish I could move faster. I take waaaay to long to edit. I think because I get lost in the rough and don’t stay on the fairway so to speak. I really do enjoy all the subtle things you do. It sets you apart. This channel is going places.
Great video and just subbed! I just bought an Insta360 after fighting with my GoPros like every time I go out! Thanks for the info and looking forward to more videos!
I've been enjoying the 360 for sure. It's got it's own quirks too and has moments of lost footage and audio. But I'm defintiely planning on getting at least 1 more for my kayak fishing. I'll do a long-term review soon.
Was just looking at these recently I was thinking of getting one to mount on the back of my yak! Thanks for your thoughts and I’m excited to see videos filmed on it!
Your wife needs to talk to my wife!🤣I recently started using the max lens on the GoPro... it's not quite 360, but it's got that big field of view and the stabilization and horizon leveling is pretty good too. Still, this has me very intrigued!
Maybe it's simply we've been married longer. ;P We'll see how much I use it through this upcoming main fishing season. thanks for the support, as always!
@@AaronHuntFishing Maybe... maybe... it's not like we're newlyweds though... coming up on 14 years! 😲I always tell people it's felt like 10 minutes... underwater! 🤣
@@JumbleTronChannel Congrats! We're a little more than double that, but she has always bought me fishing stuff. She buys my PA license every year for Christmas. I wish she was more into it, but I appreciate that she at least understands.
Can you tell us how the pre recording works ? For fishing this feature looks amazing. Do we need to set it and when we hook the fish we need just say the command voice ?
Boy the things this camera is gonna open up for your editing and filming abilities. My sling bag strap goes right across my chest where my GoPro sits so when I go out in the creek for smallies I’m gonna mount my GoPro on the strap sitting up on my right shoulder. It will hopefully eliminate all the hands in my vids and give a great perspective. The 360 is a killer shot tho. Great ideas as always Aaron.
Good idea as well on the GoPro mount. The 360 Camera has already inspired a specific video for this summer. I'm guessing if pull it off it will be obvious when it comes out. Not sure my filmmaking and editing skills are where they need to be yet, but I'm going to try. And of course as an insider in the Patreon group - you'll know the details ahead of time. ;P
Any updates on the x3? Want to use mine out on the water but I’m worried about getting it wet. It says it’s waterproof but I’ve heard a lot of stories where it doesn’t seal water out 100% should I get the dive case or another case? Have you messed around with those at all?
I used the X3 underwater in Florida. There's a little footage in my Peacock bass video. th-cam.com/video/7UkjfWE0f8U/w-d-xo.html I will be recording a review in the next few days. It's not perfect, but I'm considering buying 1 or 2 more this year because I like the creative options they give me. You can't take them underwater with an external mic. But I'm planning a series of lure comparison videos for the summer, and I'm going to use the X3 in a saltwater pool (hopefully) to capture some lure action too. I have no more glitches and issues with the X3 than I have with the GoPro line. I'd rather have none, but with all that power in a small apckage it just happens I guess.
Still making content with this camera? I’m thinking about getting it and putting it on an extended selfie stick for when I’m beach fishing. Then as front or rear view when I’m kayak fishing.
I am. I need to do a review on it - just keeps getting delayed as it's not true fishing content. :) I love it as a b-roll and kayak front view. Also been starting to use it for a few underwater shots. I'll try to get that review filmed and edited in the next week or so. Appreciate the reminder - and hope you're well.
@@AaronHuntFishing I might have to order it then I’m thinking. They make a 9ft extended selfie stick that looks like it’d be awesome as a “faux drone” angle for when Im on the beach fishing. Would love something that catches a rod getting bit, then me sprinting over to it lol. How’s it been with overheating? I was probably gonna get some 10ft USB C cables to use with an external battery.
@TheHunterFisher only time it overheated was when I had it lying on the deck of a paddle board in Florida on a 97 degree day... It does miss about 30 seconds of action every 29 minutes or so due to file splitting. I haven't been on the kayak for several months due to winter. If they.could update the firmware to eliminate that and have continuous recording it could be the only camera I use. But for now it's the main on the kayak and b-roll on foot.
@@AaronHuntFishing have you tried the loop mode? I only ever really use loop mode on any action camera I’ve used. GoPro does it well, but the Tactacam and AKASO are mediocre. Ideally I was going to have this camera running on loop mode constantly to catch any bites, then turn my GoPro on when I’m fighting the fish. I also always wear an Apple Watch, which I’ve heard insta360 has a good Apple Watch app for the cameras. Gonna have to play around with that.
A good idea! Personally I move my head way too much when I'm fishing though - i started with a head mount and got seasick watching my own videos from all the movement! :P But that is an awesome idea for a lot of folks!

Mount it on a helmet. You can get front and back views without holding it. Also as you turn your head the camera turns.
