This video was so real and, honestly, reassuring. I’m 23 and have been following your channel for almost a year now. Watching this, I realized that no matter what age we are, we are ALL trying to figure out who we are and what we want. And it never stops! I think many of us have been conditioned to think that once you get your “dream job” or “dream life,” it all ends there. But actually, your dreams, desires, and goals will continue to change because YOU’RE going to continue to change. Humans are not fixed or static. We evolve. We grow. We win. We fail. And that goes on and on as we continue living. Very random rant, but even though you’re not a teacher, I learned something valuable from this video-and that’s far more helpful than the freelance content (even though I love that, too)! So, thank you! End of rant. :)

Colleeeeen! You helped me a lot. I was transitioning from a 25 year career in IT to freelance writing - cold turkey - after brain surgery and I was messed up. Like you I've had it with the IT world, and thinking I might have to go back will send me into deep depression - so I get it! Writing for me is like eating - I need it. When I was madly scouring the internet to help me escape from IT and found your site. You were like a friend - you were my friend, and helped me smile. As a bonus, I learned a LOT about freelance writing, from How-Tos, to Need-to-Knows, to lifestyle, things to avoid, blah blah blah. You were my go-to girl. People treated me the same way in the IT world. I was everybody's go-to guy. Everyone wanted me to help them, even when it was outside of my scope. I think they picked up on my desire to help. And I think that your following grew because we felt that you genuinely wanted to help us. Over time your followers became your friends, and only want the absolute best for you. It was a great ride, and we all learned a lot of valuable stuff, and still want to hang around and make sure that our girl is doing great. And that's why I'm gonna stick around, as I'm sure, most of your followeres will. See you in the next life!
Hey Colleen! I joined your channel two days ago, and destroyed the freelance content. So helpful, but more than anything I thought "wow this chick is so cool! Love her voice, love her style, love her humour"...and then a day later I noticed you posted a short doing music, and I thought like okay as if she can get any cooler! So I just want to comment and thank you so much for your vulnerability and honesty in this video. I feel like I needed to see this today....it feels like permission from a friend to get back on track with my own dreams (writing!) and give myself permission to let go of things I don't want to do. I also have to say, I told myself about a week ago that it was time to give up on my dream of songwriting/singing! I decided I was too old (LOL, I'm also 34). So again, thank you for sharing this, it was so inspiring. Rock on sister, we're here for you :)
Wow! So many coincidences! I've become an expert on finding musicians who "made it" in their 30s. For example, Debbie Harry from Blondie didn't hit it big until she was 34. Sia didn't have her breakthrough until she was 39. And even if you never make it big, I believe you can still make a living doing music no matter what age (as long as you're good at it!).

I'm 40 and listening to this "i won't be young anymore" and "now or never" mentality is just sad :( As I want to go back to grad school to get another masters degree in a field I always wanted to work. I'm a fellow freelance writer, I'm what you would consider successful, and I do like it a lot, but there is still I dream I didn't follow due to financial reasons in my 20s... I want to believe it's not too late at 40 or my early 40s and 35 was not 'now or never'.
We absolutely loved all the freelancing information (it was golden, for real) but, I’m sure we all would click ANY of your videos and watch them right away! ❤ we truly like you for YOU and would follow you regardless. Thank you for all you have done to teach us a valuable skill 💕🤌🏼

I find you really interesting i’m curious to see where your journey goes you remind me a lot of myself but a lot of this manager i had a problem with too in the past just the way you talk and your facial expressions 😂 but that’s beside the point. I’m sticking around to see where you go with this spiritual journey. I’ve failed at freelancing multiple times but not really bc i never launched. I think you’ve come up a few times over the years it’s cool to me how I took an exit from the new age and found Christ then I got back into wanting to be a freelancer but struggle with imposter syndrome and not wanting to draw attention to myself and exalt myself anymore but also my niche fearing God and needing to please him, needing to be sure I’m doing this work with Him and not on my own accord yk? maybe idk. Anyways i’ve noticed since i have found myself full circle here on this channel you’ve gotten a lot more spiritual, which is a good thing to be seeking. Gods providence is amazing and I will be sticking around to see if you end up exiting the crop cycle where I did.

I run a website with tools and resources for freelancers, and if one more person tells me to start coaching and set up a community, I'll scream 🤣 Yes people make a lot of money doing it, but it's not my passion.
