My 2002 Toyota solara is making the same noise thought it could be the lifters? But im unable to drive it its gotten so bad it basically stalls and has a hard time turning over
@@Dan_Mark_Auto Well first mine is intermittent. Knocks at hot idle and is not rpm dependent. It goes away above 3k. I am thinking mine is timing related. Sometimes it knocks while stuck in traffic for minutes on end, other times on the same day it will not knock at all and sounds ok.
Yes the knock sound is indeed getting louder, although last summer I said the same thing during the same months, maybe heat related then? Iam also wondering if my timing chain tensioners are bleeding off oil pressure at low rpm causing the knock.

Mine came on quickly. From zero to sixty.
