    Good afternoon from the north of Spain (Euskadi), I have discovered your TH-cam channel and I really like it, you have a new subscriber.
    I bought your book "How to use the Gopro 8" on Amazon, I am waiting for it, I do not speak English but I will read it in full.

    Have you had a problem on hero 8 that a purplish light will show on the very left hand side for 15- 30" night shots?

    Hi! Can you give us what „white balance” did you use? One more question - ISO min and max the same?

    Great video, Jordan. Subscribed! Went out last night and tried a few night photos, and a night lapse. For the night lapse, I forgot to set the output to photo. DAAAAANNNNGGGG!!!! Sat in the cold, for 90 minutes... at least it was a beautiful night.
    QUESTION - you show the ISO setting for the star trail picture as 800. The Hero 8 Black has settings for "ISO Min" and "ISO Max". I assumed it was the setting for the "ISO Max". The images came out pretty dark. Should I adjust just the Max ISO up, or do I need to adjust both ISO Min and ISO Max? Cheers!

      Hi Douglas,
      Thanks for watching and for subscribing! That's a bummer about the video output setting when you wanted photos. Night lapses take a long time so it's a bummer when they don't come out, At least it was beautiful and gave you a good reason to sit and stare at the stars. 😉
      As far as the ISO setting for night lapses, since night lapses do take a long time to record and I want consistency, I set the min and max ISO to the same value (800 for example). It's not totally necessary to set the MIN ISO since the camera will read the darkness and jump to the MAX ISO, but I still like to be specific. Hope that answer helps!

      Hi Geoffrey,
      Thanks so much for writing! I'm happy to hear that you liked the vid and bought the book. Yes, I will be doing a Hero 10 Masterclass soon and would be happy to reach out to you when it's available. Also, the digital version of the Hero 10 book is also available on the same Amazon sales page as the paperback. That link in the video description should take you right there. Thanks again and I will write you again here when the course is up. Or you can email me through the email on my TH-cam about page.

      Hi Jordan,
      Thanks just downloaded the digital version , if you could please let me know when you hero 10 master-class is on that would be great. In your book you mentioned the best compatible gimble for the hero 10 , the zhiyun crane 2. I looked it up there is a zhiyun tech crane 2 as well , is that better than the inkee falcoln gimble ,which one would be best please.
      Thanks again
      Geoff

    Hot pixels....interesting. I had this happen to me and so I had a theory. I duplicated my star video the next night. The twinkle visibility changed ever so slightly but was still there. I just assumed that I was looking at the twinkling reflections of some satellites as they stay in constant orbit speed with the earth and therefore would appear motionless against the stars. Your thoughts?

    • @clmfilms8103
      @clmfilms8103 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly, almost all cameras have hot pixels. They are when the camera's sensor is pushed to the limit and one pixel becomes slightly more sensitive than the others. That being said, the gopro 8 has a problem with being very sensitive to hot pixels. Even top of the line, flagship cameras get hot pixels. My gopro 9 rarely gets hot pixels, and even when it does, you have to zoom in a bunch to see them (gopro upgraded the sensor with the hero 9). Smartphones don't get hot pixels because they have AI software that automatically gets rid of them, but Sadly gopros, DSLR, and mirrorless cameras aren't smart enough to do this. Hope this helps

    Hey, I was just wondering, you may have specified in the video. But what was the intr. rate? I used 2 min and is out there right now recording

    • @JordanHetrick
      @JordanHetrick  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it depends on what you are recording. I just used continuous (auto) for interval to capture as many shots possible.

    Does the Hero 7 Black allow you to adjust the shutter speed in Night Lapse Photo mode? Can't figure it out even when I turn on Protune, only allows me to adjust the interval.

      Hi Cory,
      No, they are different. It should be in the App store. Or if you can't find it, there is a link from Adobe's site to the Play or App Store. Just Google Photoshop Mix and use the Adobe page.

    For star trails there are several star stacking software that are free including StarStaX, and Startrails.exe, they allow for far fewer steps and greater customization to the appearance of star trails. It's nice to know that I can do this with a GoPro now instead of my big azz cameras

    • @JordanHetrick
      @JordanHetrick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for writing Paul! Yes, StarStax is another great option for people for making star trail composites. I'll take a look at Startrails too. Have fun filming!!!
