Alright, time for explaining. The Player Model of the HUD is always going to have the HEV suit, because designed it that way. And what you see here is not a glitch, he is bunny hopping. In source games, bunny hopping INCREASES movement speed.
Grindlepol It's a mod but it's also within the game itself. See, in the original release of Half-Life, bunny-hopping was a quirk in the engine that could be used to gain speed. When it was released on Steam, this quirk was fixed. The mod in question only restores what was originally there, so it's still valid.

Good thing you can switch weapons without an HEV suit. I remember in HL2 without a suit, you couldn't switch weapons, being stuck with the one equipped until you run out of ammo or pick up another weapon. You were also basically screwed if you had every weapon and then get stuck with the crowbar.
It's called bunny hopping, you can (in the right circumstances) move at 300,000 u about 300x faster than in this vid, not using mods, but it's almost impossible. ALMOST it IS possible my friend showed me. He was raging so hard cuz' he kept failing.

The Player Model of the HUD is always going to have the HEV suit, because designed it that way. And what you see here is not a glitch, he is bunny hopping. In source games, bunny hopping INCREASES movement speed.

When it was released on Steam, this quirk was fixed. The mod in question only restores what was originally there, so it's still valid.

Good thing you can switch weapons without an HEV suit. I remember in HL2 without a suit, you couldn't switch weapons, being stuck with the one equipped until you run out of ammo or pick up another weapon. You were also basically screwed if you had every weapon and then get stuck with the crowbar.

It's called bunny hopping, you can (in the right circumstances) move at 300,000 u about 300x faster than in this vid, not using mods, but it's almost impossible. ALMOST it IS possible my friend showed me. He was raging so hard cuz' he kept failing.
