I can't believe Necrit was spot on when theorizing Ambessa was pregnant based on the fact that she was literally pregnant in the video! Props to my lore goat 🗣️
11:49 Ambessa didn't send Mel away because she (Mel) was weak, she (Ambessa) sent her away because it would make her (Ambessa) weak. If anything were to happen to her daughter, because she loves her so much, she knew it would cloud her judgement. She said so in Arcane. She sent her away so she could make the tough decisions needed to properly lead the Medarda family.
I think her being pregnant in the video shows that these wars will always be more important to her than her children, no matter how much she comes to love them. Because in war she could easily die and her baby die with her, or she could lose her baby due to an injury. I’m sure she would be very upset if that happened, but she would probably consider it just another sacrifice for her wars. This would fit into arcane’s theme of people being conflicted between their roll as a parents and their cause, and what they choose.
Chosen of the Wolf Swain: almost killed by irelia, only lost his arm. Katarina: almost killed by talon, gained a scar. Atreus: almost killed by aatrox, had pantheon the aspect die, gained freedom and a scar. Ambessa: almost died from an arrow, gained a daughter. I see a theme with the chosen.
I interpreted it as all of these champions survived their brush with death, so they are the wolfs chosen and the wolf continues to give chase in every battle and brush with death the champions have. They are the wolves chosen prey, the chase is the wolf hunting them in each battle while they are living, and each battle they fight off/escape the wolf
This is the lore of the entire skin line itself that was also on the PBE along with the skin bios: "When the young warleader Ambessa falls in battle, she is granted a vision of Volrachnun, a hallowed afterlife for worthy followers of the Wolf. All who are welcomed into this haven must join the Eternal Chase, finding bliss in battle and joyfully challenging their fellow chosen warriors in a never-ending hunt." Clearly, Necrit is off-base here. Those warriors shown in the vision really are Pantheon, Katarina, and Swain. When they finally die, they will all enter Volrachnun due to their devotion to challenging the Wolf throughout their mortal lives. There they will fight eternally against the other Chosen of the Wolf, one of whom Ambessa sees she will also become.
The fact that Mel uses gold instead of red and the way she covers the noxian paint ship with gold paint tells us she aligns with her Shuriman heritage and possibly the lamb.

If you pass the Wolf's trial you manage to stay there and live by your honor in battle in this afterlife, although if you fail... well, I guess the Wolf gets a really nice and tasty soul to devour. Then, in the iminence of her death, Ambessa is faced with the trial of the Wolf to which she manage to pass and is granted the honor of living her eternity in Volrachnun, what the Lamb hints about when she talks about the Medarda mourning her and her unborn child's death, but in the last moment the thread that tied her to the living pulled her back. That's what we see when she's ascended but Mel's power starts to pulse, leaving her confused by what is happening, and ressurecting and healing her back. It seems to me that as long as you win against the Wolf they can then use part of your soul to use it to test others. I think the whole things with the skins and the music video is a bit opposite from what you said. I think those who are tested and chosen by the wolf stay dead and join him to test new warriors, not coming back to life. Mainly because the kindred would never want anyone to come back from death, evidenced by their quotes. In the music video, ambessa passed the test and joined the wolf's rank for the eternal hunt in Volrachnun, but she suddenly sensed something and was revived. And it showed that what she felt was baby Mel. It could be the lamb showing mercy for an unborn child or it could be that mel is special and have magic.
Volrachnun is apparently a mountain. if you go look at the concept art of the skins, they call it "Volrachnun mountain". i guess it could still be a realm, but thought it was worth pointing out.
God, the league universe’s lore is so good. We getting references from Arcane, league universe, in game events and LoR to all tie into just ONE character. Can’t wait for future League series after Arcane.

I believe to know a decent bit on this, considering I did a case study on it before!
My theory: LeBlanc is mentioned becuse Elora (Mel's helper/maid) is actually Leblanc. In second season 2 trailer (or music video, I don't remember) you can see the shadowy figure for a little longer and the shape fits Elora's hair 1 to 1.
I'll be honest I really did not think that the cinematic was gonna be lore, but I couldn't explain why, and you made a compelling argument so I figured I just goofed.
My theorie is that indeed, when you win against wolf, you become a chosen and therefore he can use your image in the hunt. This would mean that all the chosen we see would be characters who managed to escapes death at least once. I don't know about the others, but if i remember right, i'm pretty sure Pantheon ( Or well... Atreus ) almost died at the hand of Aatrox. I know that techically it's the spirit of the Pantheon who died, but Atreus still had his body impaled on Aatrox sword, right ? The fact he survived that might be the wolf's doing ? also that would explain why kindred mention Pantheon as a "random" spearman (speaking actually of Atreus) who caught wolf's eyes, and doesn't speak about him being the aspect of war or something. Also i'm pretty sure that even if we don't know for sure, all the other character from the skin line might have survived near death experiences. This wouldn't surprise me for katarina, an assassin, for exemple. Who knows maybe we'll see a Tryndamere skin, since he survived his encounter with death in this year cinematic trailer ?
it is hard to see an youtuber admit they're wrong, I admire that from you, it's like you trying to discover what is happening with us, we make mistakes together and understand better later a big man
meh, doesn't matter if your review got 70% debunked, you're still a fan making theories about the lore we all love. Your review will always remain one of the best.
It's possible that those who pass the Wolf's test, get to return to the living but he creates an avatar of the person in Volrachnun, to use for future tests. Hence 'they' take part in the Eternal Chase, but more in the sense that they are *represented* in the Eternal Chase, via their avatars, as the Chosen of the Wolf. Whereas people who fail the test, simply get dumped there unceremoniously, without the glorious new skin / armor.
I believe that Kindred/Wolf just extract the essence of someones power to create these shadow figures. Since they have won the battle they deserve to live while also be used to test others. I would guess it uses them metaphoricaly not actually keeping them there until they win
I feel like, if this is the Noxian version of Kindred the lamb and wolf or perhaps the fox and wolf? The eternal chase they mention and the tests is more like, when there dying they get tested and if they win they are allowed to live, a little longer. The lamb/fox/little wolf claims most Noxian soldiers in death, those that best her are allowed to return to the living world as Prey of The Wolf. That's why the lamb is talking about how and why these people have caught the wolfs eye as if that is something noteworthy and not attributed to all who die.
I mean ye, makes sense if you remember the finals scenes of arcane 1 with Mel's golden armor shinign before the rocket hits and all the gold armor of these chosen ones
Hey mate, if you are wondering how Mel survived - when Ambessa wakes at the end of the video, you can see marks on the ground around her that look like Lamb's Respite. Kindred's ult.
I think the spashart is quite literally meant ^^ - but your theory fits as well since this is one and the same thing essetially. She said she would set the world abalze to protect her family- I wouldn't be surprised by friendly fire at some point... In Arcane S2 trailer she slashes the Enforcers. I hope we get a small making of for this MV to get at least some confimations here and ther. But if by any chance, I think we get that after S2 concludes.
I think the wolf makes you fight others, over and over again until you defeat the champion, Like what Ambessa did, She kept failing until eventually she won.
to me it kinda seems like a "fight to be revived into life" since life itself would kinda be like thje hunt would it not? Death is always chasing us, waiting for the moment to pounce.
My interpretation for Volrachnun is: When Noxian warriors die or are in a near death state, their consciousness gets taken to Volrachnun (a "Valhalla" type realm of honorably fallen warriors, from the past, present, and possible future). They're tested by Wolf to see if they're willing to give up their lamb (innocence / a peaceful life and death) and are willing to stand up to the Wolf (seeking power / accepting a gruesome life and death). If they're proven worthy, they join the pantheon of "Chosen by the Wolf" in the afterlife and participate in the great hunt, testing future fallen warriors in Volrachnun. Ambessa would have been chosen, if her unborn child (aka Mel) didn't resuscitate Ambessa through magic subconsciously. I believe the the 3 other "Chosen by the Wolf" warriors are different people, not Atreus, Swain, and Katarina, they just look like them, lol. Similar to how the Spirit Blossom spirits look like particular champs, but aren't actually them. ^_^ The other interpretation is that all these characters, Atreus, Swain, Katarina, and Ambessa, have had bushes with death and survived. They've all gone to Volrachnun, been tested, and have proven themselves. Kindred is able to use their likeness (past, present, and possible future) to test other fallen warriors who come to Volrachnun.
I think both Pantheon and Swain are themselves here, but that is based on quotes from Kindred from Legends of Runeterra where she talks about a man being struck down by a meteor and defying death (how pantheons ascent is shown in The Call cinematic) and this also mentions that a deal was made with someone that gave them "a hand to rule with" (aka Swains demon deal to get his funky hand). Katarina is also perfectly feasible as in her line of work she probably almost died more than a handful of times.
I like the idea that every character in this skinline is a league character that has faced death/near death and survived/thrived afterwards. Pantheon impaled by Aatrox, Katarina against Talon, Swain against Irelia, and now Ambessa. Their avatars so to speak are left in this realm of the wolf to later test if you are worthy of that second chance at life. But overall I really like the theme of every character in this skin line being tied to death and rebirth!
Huh I never noticed that spot on the map called Stonewall. Wonder if that's a reference to the LoL youtuber Stonewall008. He's kinda retired now, but I hope it was intentionally a reference to him. He deserved it.
It'd be fun if the realm of the Wolf was like a purgatory where people who fight the Wolf and die go to and get hunted by the chosen ones until they get to pass off to another section of afterlife
NECRITTT, I can't believe your panel is on the Friday and our train doesn't get in until 3, i'm heartbroken I'm going to miss you!! I wanted to ask you if you could sign my Ruination book!
Maybe you covered this before as well, but Ambessa means Lion in Tigrayan a language of Ethiopia relating to the former Royal Family, whose symbol is a lion and whose dynasty came to being through Menelik the second. Very clear Ethiopian inspiration. (Note Menelik was a unifier through war against Italian colonial agressors) Also just a small bit about colour theory in Arcane, Red and Gold represent power (see Jayce and Silco scene where their colour pallets mirror each other), so this is a further extension of that
I think that the skin-line is the elite of Wolfs followers and that by winning against one you are given the honor of joining them when you finally die with Volrachnun being a place where they hunt the other followers and each other with those who lose being "demoted" to being one of the prey, but should they win again they regain their place amongst the Hunters. A Mix of the Wild Hunt and Valhalla I guess.
I personally like your storyline of amnesia being from shurima much much better than the Riot released lore. It fit the video and character representation in the game way better
when I saw the last skin of swain in the video rn I literally thought it was a draven skin for a second ngl. The vibe, the exposed chest, the hair and beard..... the outfit. I dunno if I'm glitching here
My interpretation is that it is like the companions in Skyrim, in Skyrim the companions are werewolves and unless they purify themselves, when they die they go to the kingdom of Hircine to hunt for all eternity, here what I understand is that the wolf confronts them while having some interest, if they defeat him, they will still be alive, but the wolf uses his essences to test others. Imagine that Pantheon was tested by the wolf, he won and then the wolf lets him live marked, being able to use Pantheon's form to test Ambessa in this case. Basically, if the wolf chooses you, he will use you as a test for other chosen ones. But at the time of your death, you will not go to a peaceful place, you will continue the hunt as the chosen one of the wolf for all eternity. That explains the ambiguity in Pantheon and Katerina's skin, and at the same time how clear they are with Ambessa and Swain, with Ambessa being a description before she beat the wolf.
Regarding to the Shuriman ties of Maderda while being full Noxian, its probably from their history of being connected to trade and ties with the prominent trading families from Shurima via marriage...
I think the wolfs chosen are those who came close to death and survived. I think it really does represent the champs the skins are for. They all had close brushes with death.

Only Legends of Runeterra's lore is good. The rest is an inconsistent mess of retcons and contradictions. I wish yhey would have stuck with the original plan to let the card game writers fix it all...
@@RenegadeVileyou ok bro? You do know that Riot fuesed the Lore of LoR, League and every other thing in the Universe to make the Lore better right? The Lore is at a point where it never was, its Straightforward, easy to Understand and you can experience it in so many different ways. Compare it with the Lore before 2015 or before the Fusion its just amazing
@@RenegadeVile you clearly dont remember all the retcons that legend of runeterra has done
@@potatoelord3797 No I do. As I said, the original plan was for LoR to clean it all up, with retcons if need be. But it would have been the last time. Reading comprehension on this website is at an all time low.
@@RenegadeVile And you are misinterpreting what I'm saying I am not saying Legend of Runeterra did many retcons to League, albeit it did, I was talking about all the retcons jammed into legend of Runeterra you're looking at the game's lore in very rose-tinted glasses. I believe to know a decent bit on this, considering I did a case study on it before!
She should have had special passve "Taste the local cuisine" where she drag enemy femboy from map
She does have special dialogue in-game if she encounters certain champs who are "her type", at least.
Ughhhhhh disgusting🤮

Who is here after watching Arcane S2?
- Le'Blanc makes sense now 😌😌😌😌😌😌
3:04 is also a reference to Arcane, she mentioned it during the Mel flashback
13:03 but how thicc did they make lambs thighs, holyyy
Helps sell the skins to a... "specific" part of the playerbase.

*sprays water bottle at gooners* Down boy. DOWN!
My theory: LeBlanc is mentioned becuse Elora (Mel's helper/maid) is actually Leblanc. In second season 2 trailer (or music video, I don't remember) you can see the shadowy figure for a little longer and the shape fits Elora's hair 1 to 1.
No lol. It's not because of that but because of another reason, you get to learn more in Season 2. It's in one of the episodes.
Damn that would be cool

I thought it was salys 🤣🤣🤣
Who knows maybe we'll see a Tryndamere skin, since he survived his encounter with death in this year cinematic trailer ?
it is hard to see an youtuber admit they're wrong, I admire that from you, it's like you trying to discover what is happening with us, we make mistakes together and understand better later
a big man
Swain getting an Emma Frost skin 😂
Ambussy lore
I think it's more that the Wolf can use form of whoever has faced him and whom he deems worthy.
"her son Kino" 🤔
Kino = Cinema in German 🙃
Same in Polish
In Bulgarian too
meh, doesn't matter if your review got 70% debunked, you're still a fan making theories about the lore we all love.
Whereas people who fail the test, simply get dumped there unceremoniously, without the glorious new skin / armor.
this is a wild theory but... the wolf challenging to see if you are worthy of continuing to live sound alot like Nagage Burros
I believe that Kindred/Wolf just extract the essence of someones power to create these shadow figures. Since they have won the battle they deserve to live while also be used to test others. I would guess it uses them metaphoricaly not actually keeping them there until they win
There is a lot of things to be said about this, but god I forgot about it all after seeing that Kata artwork HOLY DAMN
You ans Ambessa are both real ones 💯
No way Leblanc being related isn't an accidental spoiler
It is and just wait for the show to come out.
I really hope Ambessa's ties with shurima gives us Taliyah's story as the focus for the next arcane series
But if by any chance, I think we get that after S2 concludes.
,,Thats pretty much it forAmbessas bio''... Why theres still almost a half of a video to be seen?? Necrit doesnt disappoint 😌
Greatness requires sacrifice - isnt that what Rell's parents always told her?
"Wait, it's all Kindred?"
"Always has been."
kindred in the new skin is THICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC. respectfully ofc, riot knew what they were doing
I think the wolf makes you fight others, over and over again until you defeat the champion, Like what Ambessa did, She kept failing until eventually she won.
I still and will always love the way Necrit tells the stories 💜
Ambessa meeting jinx in the show may be epic. A borderline psychopath meeting a certified psychopath.
Woah woah woah woah. NEVER assume a lady is pregnant and mention it by just appeared. Learned that one the hard way. So I'm with necrit on this one
I mean i feel like Noxus accept anyone powerful into their culture, give the whole culture is Might makes Right
Leblanc making everyone paranoid again...
to me it kinda seems like a "fight to be revived into life" since life itself would kinda be like thje hunt would it not? Death is always chasing us, waiting for the moment to pounce.
Personally those skin bios read more like they essentially get a copy of you when you have a near death experience but prove strong enough to survive
My girl Mel lives
My interpretation for Volrachnun is:
When Noxian warriors die or are in a near death state, their consciousness gets taken to Volrachnun (a "Valhalla" type realm of honorably fallen warriors, from the past, present, and possible future).
The other interpretation is that all these characters, Atreus, Swain, Katarina, and Ambessa, have had bushes with death and survived. They've all gone to Volrachnun, been tested, and have proven themselves. Kindred is able to use their likeness (past, present, and possible future) to test other fallen warriors who come to Volrachnun.
Now if only riot released lore more than 3 times a year
WORLDS 2024 VLOG WHEN WE SAW YOU DONT HIDE!
Im just here wondering if that was the real Leblanc or her passive
Just a third into the video, and I already like the regional interconnectivity. Love to see multi-regional representatives beyond Bandle City.
17:12 broooo the pantheon died once before!!!!!! Aatrox killed him!!!!! That is the old pantheon!!!!!!
The Prestige skins lore always gave me something like Hellfire Gala from Marvel vibes with its skin descriptions
Riot knew exactly what they were doing by "accidentally" tying LeBlanc to Ambessa's bio, then removing it. They're dealing with Necrit, after all.
Bro this Kata Skin is… like omg. I don’t like any other splash art of her but here she has some nasty elegance touch to her ruthless character!

Huh I never noticed that spot on the map called Stonewall. Wonder if that's a reference to the LoL youtuber Stonewall008. He's kinda retired now, but I hope it was intentionally a reference to him. He deserved it.

@@SkittleBombs yeah he loved beefy bruisers and jungling. his jungle guides back in the day were so good.
2:40 i love that necrit forgets that this is also a line in mel's flashback in arcane
It'd be fun if the realm of the Wolf was like a purgatory where people who fight the Wolf and die go to and get hunted by the chosen ones until they get to pass off to another section of afterlife
16:48 this is a reference to "we will add new champions to the chosen of the wolf skinline"
NECRITTT, I can't believe your panel is on the Friday and our train doesn't get in until 3, i'm heartbroken I'm going to miss you!! I wanted to ask you if you could sign my Ruination book!
LeBlanc disappears. Somewhere, a crow caws. Jinx shoots it.
It feels illegal to be so early
Maybe you covered this before as well, but Ambessa means Lion in Tigrayan a language of Ethiopia relating to the former Royal Family, whose symbol is a lion and whose dynasty came to being through Menelik the second. Very clear Ethiopian inspiration. (Note Menelik was a unifier through war against Italian colonial agressors)
Also just a small bit about colour theory in Arcane, Red and Gold represent power (see Jayce and Silco scene where their colour pallets mirror each other), so this is a further extension of that
I think that the skin-line is the elite of Wolfs followers and that by winning against one you are given the honor of joining them when you finally die with Volrachnun being a place where they hunt the other followers and each other with those who lose being "demoted" to being one of the prey, but should they win again they regain their place amongst the Hunters.
Incorrect. Mordekaiser's death realm is called Brazil.
I think the wolfs chosen are those who came close to death and survived. I think it really does represent the champs the skins are for. They all had close brushes with death.
not just that she looked pregnant, acted pregnant holding her stomach but it's the fact they showed you the FETUS, lmao.
Leblanc planned her surviving the battle and gave her those visions, I'm calling it now.
