I have the hp usff version, switched the i3 4170t for the i5 4590t (it has real 4 cores there is another i5 4570t with only 2 core + HT). I could upscale some gamecube and ps2 to 2x, but I would say the best generation price/performance is the 6th/7th where you can really upscale to 2x allmost all GC and 2/3 of PS2, also some 3DS at 3x, psp at 4x..etc etc..
Hey sir, i think ive asked this before, but which optiplex is better/newer? The 3050 or the 7050? Theyre both the 7500 series. I was just curious because i tried to play a few games on my 7050 and it struggled
You won’t see hardly any difference from 8 to 16Gb. 8gb is more than enough for this machine. I’m guessing your cpu is i3-4160t or the 4150T. Very similar but slightly better than this processor. A much better option is to upgrade the cpu. It should be a socket 1150 so look for a i5-4460t, 4570t, 4590t, 4670t, 4690t i7-4770t, 4790t Any of those would give more performance
@@HumanoidMachines Oh wow so it is one of the better ones already? is the 4790T the absolute best CPU that my machine can take? Thanks again for you guidance on this
@@retroonyoutube5402 I’d say so. It has twice as many threads, bigger cache and faster core speed (almost 4GHz). Make sure it is the ‘T’ , this series of chips are specifically for minis with their lower power consumption.
My recent emulation journey is weird. I tried a few of those cheap arm chinese tv boxes but none could get good dreamcast performance unless i paid for an overpriced nvidia shield. Then i looked out for one of those new cube ultra mini pcs but they were also pretty pricey. Who knew going for a cheap office pc from 10 years ago that would otherwise just be landfill trash would be so worth it? Im gonna try and get an super mini pc with i3 4130t from ebay on the cheap thanks to this video and others. I suppose they would all have similar performance outside of size of ram? I am looking at ps2 and below. I dont 720p or even native res for ps2 as long as its mostly full speed

Great test... the equipment I bought is Optiplex 3060 i5 8500t 32GB DDR4... and I'm putting together games for it - it should run even better... Is it true that Batocera ver35 is the best? Regards from Poland
@@krzysztofjablonski1247 I loved v35 especially for PSx. Batocera 39 is pretty good. Just completed a 3060 build with the i5-8500T running Batocera 39. Have 40 PS3 games running very well. PS2 upscaling up to 3x, GameCube and Xbox 2x. That’s with 8Gb ram.
Still better than any of those android TV boxes for emulation.
Way better than Android

Totally agree. 6th/7th gen i5’s really start to get interesting at the higher end emulations
Awesome vid again man

It's also an i5
I honestly don’t know. I’ve worked with the 3050 loads with its i5-7500T but never had a 7050. The 3059 is great btw.
I’m using the 3020 and it looks the same as this. But I’m wondering if upgrading from 8gb 1600mhz ram to 16gb will make a difference?

From this spec you’ll have a lot of PS2 available at standard resolution. All of Dreamcast will play a double resolution. All this with 4Gb ram too.

I want a processor like this (2, 3 or 4th gen) that can run Ps2 well (focus on God Of War 2), which one do you recommend?
For God of War 1 or 2 I’d recommend at least a 6th gen i3 or i5. I think the 4th gen would struggle to play it
