If she wants to convince people not to BBQ their burgers, she's going to need a better example than an unseasoned, overcooked burger made on the stove with spray oil.

It's even funnier to me how that oil immediately started to smoke when she applied it as well, possibly creating carcinogens 😂 which is what she said was bad about grilling them

to be fair, char is actually linked to cancer so it’s a fair point to raise awareness about that. that being said, most people smoke, drink, or have some type of guilty pleasure through sugar, caffeine etc that causes other problems. it’s near impossible to be “100% healthy”.
inside edition should have gotten a grill/chef dad to do the cooking example. it makes more sense from a demographic POV. she overcooked that and dried that burger out lol

Chef Abbie, people injest plenty of other carcinogens in their normal day-to-day lives, leave our burgers alone.

However you cook it, it's always good if you dont fk it up.
    My "Grandpa Burger" recipe:
-Gently separate the ground beef into small pieces ( use min 80/20 or even 73/27)
-Work into thick, 8 Oz patties with a minimum of handling, just to the point it will stay together
    -smoke indirect until @135
-finish on the hottest fire you have
*You could do something very similar
with a pan in the oven followed by a smoking
hot cast iron skillet, if you think that's less cancerous.
