For everyone panicking just go to system >extra settings and select yuffie as your chapter 12 companion. Problem solved.

I think your date does matter. That is one party member you can't swap out. I'm stuck with Barrett.
But your guides are really helpfull
During hard mode and subsequent plays, you can select who your date is

Can also use arcane ward and double firaga with Cloud

ff7 remake and rebrith have almost zero replayability no stat building only 1 of some materia useless accesiories and u can equip only 1! and so much more failure towards battle balance
these guys have severely cripled the fun this game can give u by limiting all the things i mentioned
im sure if the game had a second accesiory slot and more ways to get the magic materia and strenght materia ect this game would be a blast
go cry somewhere else. this games combat is near perfect
