I got my platinum today. I am felling super accomplished. Some of those mini games and combat challenges were no joke. It was a 10/10 amazing game and I have no regrets about spending 162 hours to get the platinum. It is my most rare platinum to date.
It's not a 'challenge' though. The game's fights are over-tuned which is bullshit so you can only complete the challenges with 1 build each time. It's a pretty badly designed game when it comes to the combat and freedom of playstyles. Locking out items is also stupid, because you do all of the work and then you don't receive the reward to actually use them on hard or in the combat simulator. The dev's have no clue what they're doing when it comes to player freedom.
@@WardenOfTerraThis isn’t true at all. People have beat Rulers solo with every character and tons of different builds. I’ve seen Bonds cleared with many different builds too. People just aren’t good at the game and keep complaining. I got the platinum when it was still at 0.1% and think it’s the perfect difficulty. There are tons of options and it’s not Square’s faults people don’t want to use them or try new ones till they get something that works. No items and no MP restore is what makes Hard mode hard. Just increasing boss damage is lame so they use different moves and you have to manage your resources so if someone can’t clear it that’s on them. That is also perfect for a hard mode difficulty.
I agree. It was most definitely a challenge, the only BS I came across was the Gliding Chocobo challenge, hardest minugame due to the fact the Chocoba gliding mechanics feel like they haven’t been revised/QA’d. Platinum trophies should be difficult. I take pride in being in what was then the top 0.1% of people!
Finished 86/88 of Johhny's treasures, beat all the Chadley's combat trials, and 4 chapters on hard mode. Already did Rufus on hard mode (so I could finish the Shinra Middle Manager quest and get all the manuscripts before doing all of hard mode). I've honestly loved every bit of it. Some of the mini-games or bosses can be infuriating or ridiculous, but it's manageable. It's easily my game of the year and is in my top 5 games of all time. But I understand it can be overwhelming for some, and there's SO MANY minigames. Really enjoying just blitzing the story on hard mode.
I like the game, but TOP 5 of all time? Really? I think the game would have been much better with less filler and no requirements to play ALL the mini games (make them optional, for premium items, like Elixirs). My biggest gripe though (BY A LONG SHOT) is there is no proper tutorial on how to Perfect Block - I have just been winging it so far, hoping to work it out as I go. Because of this, I feel the difficulty curve is wildly extreme. Maybe give the pad some vibration when to block, so you can learn to nail the timing.
@Fab3rg3 Exactly. No way in top 5. I guess each to there own, no offence to old mate...clearly has not played many "great" games. A true FF fan should know. This is 94.5% filler/mini games. The crawling. The climbing. The slow walks...is so 2010s. We've had enough. Already plat, now I can bury this. Peace out.
Nice job man! Currently working on my platinum run. After platinuming games for a while I started to separate my feelings from a platinum run versus the base game, because afterall a platinum is entirely optional. When I finish the standard game ill review my thoughts, feelings and overall rating for the game. After that I try not to let any frustrations from the platinum objectives detract from how i feel of what the game required from me as mandatory. Not saying that its not valid that your feelings for the game overall changed after completing the platinum, but just for me personally I've realized most platinums will always have some optional bullshit that will inevitably sour the experience in some way if ya know what I mean haha. Anyway, really enjoying this game so far, definitely not looking forward to that boss rush though.
Thanks mate. Good luck, it gets super challenging towards the end. I know you can do it though 💪 Yeah I kinda gave my thoughts, I loved it on my first playthrough but the platinum wasn't fun fore at the end. I still love the game, the combat, the story, almost everything. I was just happy to be done with the platinum. I agree, most games do fall apart towards the end of a platinum run. Usually a boring grind or too many collectables. I'd love to hear your thoughts once you earn the platinum 🏆
What a video! 👌 Smashed it kiddo! Congrats on the plat, defo well deserved after this grind as holy shit some of those mini games and challenges were absolutely crazy! 😳 as always loved the raging! 😂 Keep up the busy work! ❤❤
Haha thank you, it was a super long game, and video so I'm happy you enjoyed it. The mini-games are what really made this so hard and probably even more fun to watch. More videos on the way! ❤️🙏
My personal opinion don't changed, game of the year, but i have to admit, the platinum is the FUCKING HELL. VR ones was the most brutal shit i ever did in my life. The minigames you can do with some pratice, but the VR............jesus christ.
23:39 you might've realized later but choco and muggle had the ability to adquire one power for each power up you had on the game (my deck had ifrit, choco and moogle and Dio for that same reason) so basically you could've put cactilion on the top and give a point to down lane + middle lane (making you have 11 while she had 10) and still taking top lane. Basically that would've made you win all those lanes. My deck was so that once i've put both Dio and Choco and Mug my goal would've been to put as many power up cards on the desk as possible and make my Dio end with something like 22 or 25 points worth, It was busted, and beated most enemies deck first try. Even the last game was a walk on park with that one. Man I love that card game.
@@MrLeeNingVs It was the least one that taxed time, it was snappy and fun, the cards that must be placed atop others made the game more engaging. Honestly I never used the later card versions, they where very circustancial, i'd bet they could've great synergies an all that but since my cards often had low value and could grow exponentially they where too strong. I changed my Deck slightly if i saw a really hard challenge but most of the times a proper Run and a feed ifrit netted me something like 56-67 points in all lanes, felt like easy mode sometimes.
gj man, this platinum is harder than it should be. I was stuck for days on Rulers, beat it with ATB Yuffie spam strat and now sitting on Zacks one.. it's just not fun and soul crushing. I hope they fire people who was sleeping instead of testing these mini games
Thanks mate. Agreed, those challenges are legit soul draining. I certainly didn't expect this platinum to be so hard. I expected it to be a 6 maybe 7 tops. But it felt like 8 or 9 🏆
Got it after 171hrs and absolutely loved it. You have to do everything, see every part of the world, and play the fun combat sim that you might break your controller from! But despite on how difficult it was I absolutely love the game and was worth the wait. It’s definitely one of the hardest platinums I’ve earned. Playing through on hard mode, while bullshit at times was still super rewarding
I am impressed! I have put in over 340 hours so far... What I have left is 5 chapters on hard, half the six person team challenges in Musclehead Arena, half of Chadley's brutal challenges and all his legendary. Like you, I am determined! I also wanted to use Shinra's middle manager's head for a bowling ball for having to top all my scores to obtain the ultimate party animal title....
Oh my god. I can feel you 100% everytime you said “Oh my Fking hell etc”! Literally yelling the same time as you while I going my platinum too. Finally done
1:27:56 aside using elemental + fire on armor so you don't get DMG or even better, get heal, you can also keep tifa/cloud (and others) in the aid during that attack. And there are other defense spells that can be used as well. It's just having a good (no need to be perfect) build for this fight and/or keeping one in the air.
Just got my platinum. I felt your pain! I saved hard mode for my last trophy. Yeah the final gauntlet on hard mode was so annoying having to watch the cut scenes all over again before retrying a battle.
Having completed the platinum a few days ago, one would think I’d be filled with elation. Unfettered excitement. Joy… I feel absolutely empty inside. Over a hundred hours wasted over the most questionable platinum I have ever attained. A pity too: since any positive things I may have to say about the game are immediately obscured by the wall of mini games abd absurd clearly untested challenges set before any would be completionist
@@ZiZo34344 Experiencing 100% of the content outside of hard mode, doing everything on dynamic difficulty. Afaik that doesn’t lock out experiencing any content, it’s just replaying the game with the hard mode conditions.
I legit tried rulers of the outer worlds for 10 hours and never beat it. Tried the Yuffie atb ward strategy too. Just said f it and deleted my save data 😭😭😭
I don't play alot of games these days so platinum is a challenge to get the most out of a game. I did the plat and 100% of the play log in 280 hours. Vr definitely took time and most frustration but i was in no rush with it. Accomplished and value in spades. Nice video on your journey.
It's actually fascinating, and a little heartbreaking watching you lose your joy in the game trying to go for platinum. Since I'm not running a TH-cam channel I think I may just not bother and enjoy the game for what it is
I’m so impressed! The momemt I got this game I told myself: You’re never getting the platinum trophy, just enjoy the game. But here I am trying so hard to do Chadleys fights, but I just can’t… And the minigames, no way I’m gonna ace all of them! I’m trying a hard mode run, but I know I get stuck soon, probably Dyne, I struggkrd so much with him on normal. I will be a much happier person if I just stop now, when I can enjoy this game for what it was: an amazing, superfun game! Don’t go for the platinum!
I believe in you mate! Seriously though, I think it's best to just take your time, go and play something else if it gets annoying and hope more good strategies appear online. I agree, outside of the annoying challenges the game is absolutely brilliant 🏆
I got mine a few days back. A fair few times i thought i might lack the skill required for certain mini games (such as the sit ups or Sephiroth fighting game thing) but each time i rose to the occasion. My biggest annoyance was not noticing that you'd need to redo every side quest to get the hard mode manuscripts, as the party animal quest is only accessible once you've done the other side quests, which effectively meant i had to do a 3rd play through even though i'd already done normal and hard, i'd not reset my 100% quest data from normal when going into hard meaning i skipped over the hard mode quest manuscripts not associated with the main story. The Outer worlds challenge took me many tries but the Zack and Sephiroth stuff i did first try thankfully. Definitely the hardest platinum i went for. Happy i did it all said and done.
@@writer_man5318 that doesn't address my point. I'd done Hard Mode but just story, not knowing about side quest manuscripts. Once I reached the end on Hard, I did what you suggested, but fact is it's effectively the same as doing the game a 3rd time from my perspective as so much of the game is side quests. Hence why I said "effectively a 3rd run" instead of "I did a 3rd run"
You're a much more patient man then me. Congratulations on getting it. I finally gave up trying to get the platinum and deleted the game and moved on. I'm gutted as I loved remake and got it for that but I just don't have hour's to sink into the HORRIBLE VR battles. I'll just keep looking at my platinum on elden ring to help my bruised ego heal 😅
Yeah, anyone who does this platinum must have some patients haha. Thanks mate. its a rough go for sure, maybe give it go again in the future when more strategies come out. either way, GG's on giving it a go!
Yea I just gave up too, the combat sims are just really dumb. Getting to round 10 and like getting one hit is dumb, it was really draining, 10 trophys to go sadly :(
You absolutely smashed it buddy, used that rage as motivation where I couldn't harness it in a productive way haha I'll be back to try it if and when they nerf the white terror 😭
I platinumed this game last Sunday, and I also had to spend about the same amount of time. Anyone expecting this to be on the FF7 Remake level would be surprised in a very bad way.
So far hard mode has been the easiest part of the platinum (8 chapters in). It's basically just rig up 2 characters with -aga spells linked with magic focus, mp/hp absorb, etc. that the bosses are weak to and they fall over. I'm very curious to see the temple and end boss. The chadley challenges were next level though. I used to do very high level WoW raiding and it reminded me a lot of that.
IMO the road to platinum on any games should feel fun and accomplished, and takes around 60 hours, with 80 hours as stretch, but not this one, FF7 Rebirth platinum is frustrating, annoying and borderline stupid, having to replay all those silly mini games over and over again, not to mention the utterly difficult VR challenges for regular player, which is why you see such a low percentage of players achieving Plat, for the record, it took me nearly 200 hours to do it. Oh have i mentioned the unskippable minute long mid fight cutscenes? god those make me pull my hair literally when you're retrying a tough fight and watching the cutscenes for the Gazillionth times.
Thanks mate. Good luck man, I know you can do it. I didn't have any trouble with that mini game but that's the crazy thing with this platinum. It involves so many different things. People will be great at some of the mini games and terrible at others 🏆
I tough I would never be able to finish the pirate shooter one. But it's more about being precise instead of spamming shots, and finding the not so obvious targets (like there's a 1k cactuar on the far right when the minigame starts, there are many other targets like these and then you'll breeze through the score)
The low percentage of platinums is also due to a bug that hinders a lot of people like myself from obtaining the platinum. It occured after the last patch and messed up the very last quest "party animal". But yes, it is a challenging trophy. Congrats!
Yeah I have been hearing about it. Hopefully the next patch rolls around asap and fixes it. If they don't make them easier I can see the Platinum remaining quite rare. Thanks mate 🏆
I was trying to do the Platinum, but the Chadley brutal challenges and legendarys are making me go insane. I stopped for now and might try again later this year. its too difficult
It's the best thing to do. Give a few days, enjoy a different game. Then when you return you're hopefully less annoyed at the game and you might even find some better strats online 🏆
My dude, the persistence is real! First off, congratulations on the plat, you certainly earned that 1. Secondly, I dunno how you manage to get angry and keep going until you succeed, I'd of threw the towel in alot earlier and now I feel like my decision to not go for this platinum is kinda justified 😂
I felt the frustration of the hardest trophy that I just got, Virtually Renowned. The combat sims were fucking brutal. Now that I got that done, only 2 more things I got to go. 1: Going Flawless on Loveless for the 88th Item for the Trove. 2: Beating the Game on Hard mode. 161 Hours in so far. 25% of the time were on the Hard mode sims. Yeah this was brutal.
Actually I just learned, that I can’t really go flawless, but instead having Yuffie perform as Rosa in Loveless. But yeah, pretty glad that I got the big pins off my back.
I have one trophy left which is hard mode! I have three chapters left!! It only took me 230 hours 😂 but I was determined!! Proud of myself for getting through it!!
I'm still working on accomplishing Chadley's Brutal Combat Simulation Challenges with ease (from guides I'm watching online to save myself time and trouble) just for that one last item I need for Johnny's collection before I start even the first chapter on Hard Mode. Trust me; I've been SO frustrated with achieving all these trophies these past near 2 months that I'm taking breaks overtime for my own mental health. And I shutter to imagine how much worse Part 3's platinum is gonna get...
Got it done during spring break, and it messed up my sleep schedule lol. For sure the most annoying part was the 3rd chocobo flight course, the rest of the minigames i think arent that bad. The combat tickled the part of my brain that pushed me to finish all the endgame vr battles. Honestly surprised though since i failed to platinum remake when i first played it
Congrats on getting it done mate. Seems everyone has different options on the mini games, and which were easy, and which were hard haha. Maybe go back and get the remake one after a little break 🏆
Congrats on the platinum! :) I honestly hope that Square Enix will look at the completion rate on the VR challenges and balance things out for part 3, because the difficulty for the 10 round Legendary bouts (Bonds of Friendship and To be a Hero) are way overtuned. Not only do you not get to choose the materia you get on Zack and Sephy, but you are only allowed Cloud as the other character. What made Rulers of the Outer Worlds remotely tolerable was the fact you can pick which ever 3 characters you wanted. Also, the difficulty in the Zack and sephy bouts doesn't lie in the enemies, but in the grouping. Like we have to fight 10 rounds back to back, which is insane. And there's so much RNG involved with the enemies too, like will the Ironclad use Graviga to reduce both member's HP to 1? Does Odin stagger on the very left side of the boss room, making it so that you have no time to move to the right side which is the safe side? etc. Most people will fail at Bahamut or Odin (rounds 9 or 10 respectively), but they have to go through 8 to 9 fights again just so they can go back to the one fight they actually struggle with. Like this is tedious, and not fun. I get that they want it to be challenging, but imo, this is not the way to do it. Imo, they could either put a checkpoint system at round 5/10 for the current instance of the challenge, so that if the player fails at any point after round 5, they can restart from the beginning of round 6, unless they exit to save the game or to change the load out, in which case, they have to restart from round 1 again. OR make the challenges 5 rounds: Titan, Phoenix, Kujata, Alexander, finall Bahamut or Odin. Sounds easier than Rulers, but you have to keep in mind that these are scaled higher than the summons in rulers and you only really have one built characters as opposed to 3 built characters. This would make these two challenges way better and just as challenging without it being so tedious and unfun. Just my opinion though. Took way too long for me, just going through hard mode right now. but these challenges definitely made me enjoy the game less during the time while I was trying to complete them. I really hope they make some changes to these in part 3.
@@venth85 yep, I noticed it yesterday. It's actually so stupid. Like 99.2% of the people already are unable or can't be bothered to beat it...making it harder ain't gonna solve the problem. The balancing team is actually high....
Thanks mate. And I agree with basically everything you said. Hoping they spend more time on balancing this sorta stuff in part 3. The RNG in the 10 round challenges really is annoying🏆
Comparing this to other FF games, I think FF16 is my personal benchmark for what I like platinum difficulty to be. Crisis Core remake was too easy, being able to be completed in a single playthrough with minimal post main story effort, and Rebirth went a bit too ham with some of the mini game requirements for me to personally enjoy. 16 being 2 playthroughs, with completing all central content on hardest difficulty, and upgrading all skills was a good balance of more challenge than a standard playthrough, but not frustratingly difficult. I get that platinums are supposed to be a reward for putting in the effort to truly complete a game though, so if people prefer the sort of challenge Rebirth asks for, I can respect that.
I just finished GOW Ragnarok platinum finally and was about to start this or Dragons Dogma 2 or Rise of the Ronin… you helped me knock this off the list
420 hours in and I'm still not done. An entire block of neighbors can hear each Brutal and Legendary challenge beaten... This game is the worst in so many ways after you finish it.
Dunno the english name for it, but for 1:28:22 I think using Wall would help alot. Because it increases Physical and Magical Resistances by a huge chunk. I just got the "Götterdämmerung" Accessory, so I will start the hard playthrough soon. Only Legendary challenges are needed and Hard playthrough, but I got Götterdämmerung and therefor can Limit Loop the Bosses. I was fearing the Legendary Challenges after the Brutal ones, thank god you told me they are easier. For me I like that the platinum trophy has a challenge and it is far easier to platin this then elden ring for example. Also I heared you do Chadely before the hard playthrough that's why I got the Brutal Challenges down.
Doesn't seem to work on that move for some reason. Nice you're almost done, good luck with the remaining challenges. Only the final two legendary challenges are hard, all the solo ones are easy. I like a challenge for my platinum too but this one wasn't fun for me towards the end. You see, I disagree. For me this was harder than Elden Ring and probably even Sekiro. 🏆
I'm still stuck on Bonds of Friendship. I've spent more than 100hrs on that challenge alone. I'm at something like 380hrs total. I've tried every technique, every build I can find. I can get to Odin every time with just stupid ease, but he always *always* wipes me when he's one hit away from beaten. I've loved the FFVII compilation from the beginning. I was 11 when the OG came out and it's been my favorite game since. This has made me just seriously hate it. I know it's me, and it's obviously a skill issue (even though this is the LAST THING I need for the plat) but it's so frustrating. It's a major blow to the confidence, and sad that it makes me really consider walking away from a series I've loved since I was a kid. At first, I struggled with Hellion's Intonement. The it was Rulers. Then Cait vs. the Abominable - that one took me almost 80 hrs. I couldn't seem to keep up with the Mindflayer, but I did eventually get it. But those were NOTHING compared to Bonds. The whole "getting absolutely SPANKED by Odin when he's one hit away from death" thing makes me want to set my PlayStation on fire.
Congratulations! Hopefully FF7 Part 3 (ReUnion) is a lot easier to Platinum than this. I can be more difficult than Remake but it can’t be like this otherwise it means Square Enix hates us. Seriously though, whoever designed these mini games needs to cool it. The Piano Mini Game especially.
Thanks mate. Yeah I really hope so. This was so incredibly frustrating to platinum, where I loved doing Remake. I absolutely agree, the mini games were a step too far. Whoever balanced them really needs to do a better job with part 3 🏆
Great video and congrats on the Plat! I am currently at 56/61 trophies unlocked. I am at 84/88 for collecting Johnny's collectables. I have to beat all 6 Piano songs (not sure if I can do this. I suck at rhythm games), beat the other 3 rounds of Crutches (really not sure I can do this), break the boxes with Cait Sith in Chapter 11, and complete all of Chadley's Vr simulations. I really would love to earn this Plat. I hope I can do it!
I feel you on Jenova Lifeclinger, for me its the hardest boss on Hard Mode cause you have to use all of your characters and yeah those cutscene you couldnt skip, i feel ya! But Red Dragon i beat it on first try cause i always use Manawall on everybody, all and all, nice Platinum man!
Haha yep. That shit was annoying. I used manawall but it barely helped. I've had comments now about how the fire doesn't cover the whole arena anymore. So that's a W 🏆
Nice job, glad it was a long form video. I got this plat last week, and man it was fucking tough. The game really exhausts you at every turn, and some of the fights really didn't seem balanced. Regardless, I'm happy I got it, and I'm glad the community is finding more efficient ways of taking on the BS bosses, throwing it back in squares face lol
Thanks mate. Yeah I asked my amazing subs about length and they didn't mind longer videos so here we are. Still had to cut over an hour of stuff though. The game is just ridiculously huge. Congrats on the Platinum. Agreed. 🏆
I want Seph’s “OWA” Piano Sheet Music, and that entails getting all 88 Treasure troves, and I wanna do all of the Combat Simulator challenges so I can have all SP maxed out, but I will NOT be platinuming the game whatsoever
@@MonstrousAvail well, getting all 88 collectibles pretty much means platinum trophy. The only thing that isn't involved in Johnny's inn is hard mode I think.
Iv made a commitment to platinum this game, and im deeply regretting it😂 but I can’t start playing anything else till I get it, 145 hours in and im still miles away
My god i got ptsd watching this! I spent 257 hours to get the plat! Those combat challenges forever changed me. Dont get me wrong i loved the game but im so glad its over, and i agree with you dont go for the plat i almost lost my wife over it!
got mine on saturday and what a feeling, didn't rush it or anything so was close to 200 hours. Really enjoyed this game but now i feel empty and idk what to move onto next XD
Don't agree about the red dragon criticism though, manawall = you survive. Which you did find out, they turned a move it can do during normal and guaranteed it'd do it at it's max level. I did the VR missions before I did Hard Mode, it prepared me so well and flew through hard mode as a result.
Congratz on the platinum 🎉 I still have all the hardest things in front of me and not looking forward to them. I don't understand why SE are doing their trophies so hard! I miss the FF XV platinum that one I loved (even with that huge turtle😅). I know people like challenges and some are really good at these stuffs but still...Remake challenges were hard. This is indeed brutal. 😢 But even through all of this. For me this still stays as my Top game. It is not platinum but story and design and gameplay what makes my choices for my favorite games. Platinum is like a cherry on top of it for me.
Thanks Mate. Yeah I think they went a little overboard with the mini games and Chadley challenges difficulty. I hated this game so much by the end, I kinda wish I didn't even go for the Platinum. Also, I really enjoyed FFXV 🏆
watching you frustrated I laughed so hard. it doesnt mean i laugh at you but i know how it becomes painful getting those minigames or brutal challenges in hard mode. i have tired so many times but didnt success yet. i wish i will get platunum one day T T. congratulation 🎉🎉🎉
I got my platinum in 190 hours but i also went through the effort of assessing every single enemy and grinding every materia i own to max stars. it is not the hardest platinum i done but close to being the most time consuming. i would say FF9 remaster is harder to platinum in terms of minigames, that include the 1000 rope jumps and guessing the right trio 9 times in a row. I did not find the cactor crush that bad like you did but i think that minigame is more of a playstyle thing, some peopple struggle while others breeze trough it. What really had me stuck was that 5th piano piece, 3 hours to beat just that song, the rest of the game was not so hard. The red dragon you had hard time with i beat second try, it felt more like i was bullying the dragon on my successful attempt so its more of understanding game mechanics and playstyle than actual difficulty.
Congrats on the Platinum. 190 hours is a pretty good time. I've heard the nightmare of FF9 from a few people. Yeah, cactuar crush is one of those mini games where if you know how to tackle it, it's pretty easy. I personally didn't struggle much with the piano, but you aren't the first to say you did. As for the Red Dragon, I have heard the lava move was fixed in an update so it no longer fills the entire arena. I agree, though a lot of this platinum is using the right gear, making sure they're leveled up, knowing how to deal with each boss and a little RNG luck 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs From what i seen about Red Dragon from me and other players is that not letting him to do the lava move in the first place is the real solution, I just nuked the dragon in phase 2 so hard that he didn't get chance to do it as he was staggered and getting blasted by double blizzardga until he died, only reason i took 2 tries is because i had to restart phase one the first time for losing all ATB while trying to set up in phase one and getting hit during activation of abilities. I am trying to finish FF9 now for platinum before it leaves psn extra in 2 weeks time, i had to use a slow motion camera recording to beat the guessing minigame by rewatching each round until i know the result, and for 1000 jumps i had to download an old version of ps remote play from an archive so i could use a macro to beat the minigame for me and even that took like 2 hours of figuring out and setting up, and tweaking. I know i done the minigame when i was a kid over 20 years ago the proper way but i am way too old for that now days so cheating is the only way to do it in my 30s.
I’ll platinum this game later in life. I beat it, did all the mini games and I’m satisfied with it. Don’t want to get to hard, or do Chadley challenges because I know for a fact it will fucking ruin me.
I see you used Naz talgic's aga spell spam strategy for brutal challenges, now those are some really good strats imo, I'm going for the last Brutal Challenge, it's still tough but I think I understand how to block Sephiroth's Shadowy Chain, you need to abuse the slow mo when choosing a skill to get the ideal timing for blocking attacks
I have no idea about the name. I just looked online for a few strats and the one in the video worked in the end. Even with this build I had trouble with it though haha 🏆
You can’t stop Shadowry Chains from happening, you just gotta make sure everyone is manawalled, Barett casted Steel skin, and that you have enough defense to survive his Octaslash
Great video so far. But I need to add to the red dragon and I died twice on it as well and it was irritating as crap. One time my party members went straight to it abd the first I was low on health and it just killed me. The game is great, but some fights like that are frustrating. Heartless angel was also an annoyance. I died both times to the first use due to having no ATB and sephiroth just hit everyone at once.... (I was completely spoiler free so had no idea) Great game, but agree with the designs of certain fights being frustrating, in an attempt to just make them harder...
ha h ah ah haa, I have always loved FF games because there is always the easy/normal way to get your endings and have fun.... AND THEN... You want everything and to become a God? Yeah it is an actual challenge. I remember doing 200 lightning strikes for hours and a certain chocobo race on FFX that took FOREVER!
I felt that when you were doing 3D Brawler. That is the worst mini game by far. I want to see the devs complete it without the pause cheese. The Jules sit ups are bad too, but I feel like that's more just getting good. 3D Brawler requires inhuman reflexes. Fair play on plat. This is a huge grind. I have chapter 14 of hard mode and the legendary VR fights left for plat. 170 hours in so far.
The problem is with gaming is the double standard so many people want a game with ton of hours of gameplay and open world but moan when theres common open world activities then people moan that the game is hard to plat im sorry but isnt the point that its supposed to feel like an achievement i bet if the mingames were made easier people would be going the games bad because its too easy
I don't mind if a game is long or short. I just want quality. I personally would have been more than happy without the tedious hard versions of mini games and toned down Chadley challenges, but that's just me. 🏆
I wouldn’t have been able to do 3d brawler without pause Strat either - I searched online and found out about pause Strat on the same figjt against shinra middle manager 😂
After watching the whole video some mini games genuinely fell un play tested. Mainly the glide course 3 mini game. edit: the move red dragon boss does might of actually been un play tested when the game came out cause they made a update where when the boss does the lava move it doesn’t cover the whole arena so it’s actually avoidable now
Yeah some stuff certainly felt untested. I know I complained about it but that's seriously how it felt. Oh seriously, I guess my complaint on that boss move was valid then haha 🏆
My thing is, before trophies were a thing, was the ability to 100% complete a game part of the standard for how good a game is crafted? Trophies are extra curricular in my opinion and shouldn’t have any bearing on the context of how good a game is. Whether or not you have completionist habits is incumbent on how you chose to play the game, but historically that type of gaming was an optional style
Depends who you ask really, I've always enjoyed getting 100% in games I enjoy, way before trophies or achievements. Most games do a great job, with extra content, and some don't.
Honestly, FF7 Rebirth is still a contender for GOTY for me. I am now in Chapter 10 on hard mode Need only the hard mode trophy + all SP skills trophy which are linked together. My MOST DIFFICULT platinum game is still Red Dead Redemption 2 to reach 100% completion.. but Rebirth is my number 2 most difficult platinum game... Heck Dark souls 3 , Bloodborne etc where much easier than these 2 games. I did all the chadley challenges first before gotterdammerung, then leveled all materia's to max; did the gotterdammerung and now hard mode with all the quests. since I have done the challenges first, hard mode is pretty easy haha
thx for sharing your experience with us. I was trying to do Rulers of the Outer Worlds before I start story on Hard, but maybe I should just start story mode. struggling so much on Gilgamesh. also do you have a tip for that challenge. im using Cloud, Barret and Red
You're welcome mate, thanks for watching. As for tips, it'd be hard to explain in a message so, I'll just say search online and you'll find builds that help with certain challenges 🏆
Yay! Amazing achievement! It must feel amazing to be through with it 😅 I've got just 2 left to do! Finish hard mode. Which I'm currently stuck on rufus 😅 and finish all the chaldey brutal/legendary, which I'm also stuck on 🙈 I completely agree with you that there NEEDS to be a way to skip boss cutscenes!
Thank you. It really did feel amazing to be done with it. Nice, not much left now then but they're certainly hard. I believe you can pull it off though. Yeah, no ability to skip those boss fights cutscenes was ridiculous. I'd imagine that will come in a patch. Games that require a second playthrough or have NG+ need an option that automatically skips all cutscenes. They let you skip Zacks parts at least, so that's a plus 🏆
@MrLeeNingVs yeah 100%! Oh and I'm at the arena, and I did the turk fight and then failed at refus, but I accidently pressed the wrong option and it took be back, before the turk fight! Soo unfair 😭😭😅 see, I only JUST realised now that you can use cushions to regain MP on hard mode (so I've gone until chapter 12 surviving on just the MP I had per chapter 🤣🙈) but if you can use a cushion, I would hope there was a way to replenish MP in other sections. Especially long ones like the temple of the ancients. I agree with what you said, there's no way in hell anyone in that team tested this whole game in hard mode first 😅
@happycatyoutube I did the same thing on the final boss. Seriously, I had no idea you could use the cushions... Right haha, and if they did they were using cheats lol 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVswhen I saw cushions gave back health AND MP, I already knew I was gonna be using this in Hard mode. I also made it my personal mission to acquire the Gotterdamerung to make Hard mode just a tad bit easier
sadly the last side quest is bugged for me. Thankfully Square will fix it in the upcoming patch. Really enjoyed the mini games, none of them felt hard for me
I started on Crisis Core, I wanted to platinum all 3, are you suggesting it will suck incredibly and I shouldn't in any way? I'm new to the newer FF7 games.
Congrats! I’ve decided to throw in the towel, for now at least, I got to rules of the outer worlds and just can’t do it. 119 hours so far I think I need a break it’s all I’ve been playing since the 29th feb, gonna play a few more games enjoy some other stuff come back later, there’s lots of people saying the vr challenges seem way too overpowered and unfair at points so I’m hoping they might nerf a few things to give me a fighting chance, let’s see!
Thanks mate. I don't blame you, a break will certainly help, hopefully people will come up with easier ways of beating these challenges. They really are stupidly unfair. It doesn't help that the challenge itself is 10 rounds and takes a while to get to the final round just to fail. While I was playing the final Chadley challenges and certain mini games I was thinking. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they made them easier down the line. Congrats on making it so far tho man, 119 hours is dedication 🏆
Wowzaaa that was some good movie time🍿GG's on getting such a long video done. No doubt it was helluva job! Soooo many mini games tho, and you props left a good bunch out🤣 a lot of those mini games must be easter eggs to other games. I recognized a handful. The fights looked really awesome, although just a few seconds of watching vs hrs and hrs of getting your ass beat...not the same haha. The graphics and score looked and sounded incredible! What a difference of watching you play your first playthrough, and the insanly hard challenges. Sucks hard that going for the plat ruined your experience with the game. Even though going for the platinum is a choice, it's still part of the game. And should not leave you feel like that at the end. Such a shame. Quick side note, did I see it correctly that you were using the PS earbuds? If so, how are they, are they worth the money? Anyways GG's on getting the plat, especially with such a nasty after taste! And getting such a long vid out, great job👏🏾 definitely hard to find the right balance, you are for sure on the right track, keep it up! Looking forward to your next adventure✌🏾🦖
Haha. I tried my best to keep the length under 2 hours. I wanted it even shorter if I'm being honest. Yep, it was mini game after mini game, which I honestly didn't mind because most were fun until the hard versions, and yeah, I cut a few from the video. The soundtrack is legit GOAT'D. So many boss fights and even side missions have such great music, and I always found myself bobbing away haha. Yep, the platinum defo left me with a sour taste but after sitting on it for a while, I'm just going to remember the absolute blast I had on my first playthrough. Hmm I don't think so. I do have some Vita Earbuds but not those new PS ones. What's the time stamp? Thanks as always Dex. I tried my best to include as much side stuff, not spoil too much of the story and actually explain some of the mini games. I feel I did an okay job but I certainly struggled putting this one together without making it 3 hours long. I originally had a lot more story moments and bosses. 🏆
Pfff don't remember the time stamp. But if you don't have those new buds, it doesn't really matter right😉 Yeah it's hard to not spoil too much. On the other hand, it is a platinum vid. So when people click on it, they know they are taking a risk. Maybe that gives you some more breathing room, and not be to hard on yourself with the editing process. Gives you some leeway to find the balance you want, and do it the Lee way! Couldn't resist that one haha.
Haha that's true. It certainly is, hard to find the right balance. Sometimes I feel like not including any story stuff in a new game. As you say though, Watching a Platinum video you gotta expect some kind of spoilers. Gotta get that Leeway. Never heard that one before. It gave me a good laugh 🏆
I got my platinum today. I am felling super accomplished. Some of those mini games and combat challenges were no joke. It was a 10/10 amazing game and I have no regrets about spending 162 hours to get the platinum. It is my most rare platinum to date.
Congrats mate. Really sick platinum to have in your platinum collection 🏆
Congrats to myself, I platinumed Spiderman!
I think this is actually perfect for games: An easy challenge for the normal game, and a heavy challenge for platinum
I agree. Although I also like the occasional stress free platinum.
@@MrLeeNingVs I’m assuming there won’t be a Crash Bandicoot trophy run anytime soon then, huh? 😂
You're almost done man. Congrats. Glad to hear you've enjoyed your time with it 🏆
Man , what do you think is better to do first? The Chadley Challenges or the Hard Mode?
Peace out.
me too bro im just missing the legendary bout with cloud and sephiroth and max the characters tree
I know you can do it though 💪
Yeah I kinda gave my thoughts, I loved it on my first playthrough but the platinum wasn't fun fore at the end. I still love the game, the combat, the story, almost everything. I was just happy to be done with the platinum.
I agree, most games do fall apart towards the end of a platinum run. Usually a boring grind or too many collectables.
I'd love to hear your thoughts once you earn the platinum 🏆
Hope you enjoy the video champs. A super long video that I struggled to put together without it being like 3 hours long haha.
Yeah they're crazy haha. Glad to hear you enjoyed the game so much 🏆
23:39 you might've realized later but choco and muggle had the ability to adquire one power for each power up you had on the game (my deck had ifrit, choco and moogle and Dio for that same reason) so basically you could've put cactilion on the top and give a point to down lane + middle lane (making you have 11 while she had 10) and still taking top lane.
I used a few different strategies throughout the same. I always liked changing up. Queens Blood was probably my favourite mini game. 🏆
Congrats on a well earned platinum 🏆
I am impressed! I have put in over 340 hours so far... What I have left is 5 chapters on hard, half the six person team challenges in Musclehead Arena, half of Chadley's brutal challenges and all his legendary.
Like you, I am determined! I also wanted to use Shinra's middle manager's head for a bowling ball for having to top all my scores to obtain the ultimate party animal title....
You got this mate! 🏆
I can't wait to play this. Great video, like always
Thanks Sam. Glad you enjoyed it 🏆
Oh my god. I can feel you 100% everytime you said “Oh my Fking hell etc”! Literally yelling the same time as you while I going my platinum too. Finally done
Yeah it's a rough final few hours getting this plat. Congrats on getting it done mate 🏆
1:27:56
aside using elemental + fire on armor so you don't get DMG or even better, get heal, you can also keep tifa/cloud (and others) in the aid during that attack. And there are other defense spells that can be used as well. It's just having a good (no need to be perfect) build for this fight and/or keeping one in the air.
I platinumed the game twice…I had accidentally overwritten my old save that I platinumed, so I did it again and this time, I completed the play log
Just got my platinum. I felt your pain! I saved hard mode for my last trophy. Yeah the final gauntlet on hard mode was so annoying having to watch the cut scenes all over again before retrying a battle.
Congrats mate. Haha it really was 🏆
Having completed the platinum a few days ago, one would think I’d be filled with elation. Unfettered excitement. Joy…
I feel absolutely empty inside. Over a hundred hours wasted over the most questionable platinum I have ever attained. A pity too: since any positive things I may have to say about the game are immediately obscured by the wall of mini games abd absurd clearly untested challenges set before any would be completionist
As much as you might feel about the platinum. Congrats on achieving it mate 🏆
I had a blast 100%-ing my first save. I considered going for the platinum, but god no, I’m not that much of a masochist.
Good call mate haha 🏆
What kind of 100% are we talking about if you didn't get everything then ?
Thank you and Well played on your Platinum
It's actually fascinating, and a little heartbreaking watching you lose your joy in the game trying to go for platinum. Since I'm not running a TH-cam channel I think I may just not bother and enjoy the game for what it is
I would absolutely say just enjoy the game and forget about the platinum haha 🏆
Congrats mate. Sounds like you had fun but also a big challenge. It's certainly a platinum to be proud of 💪🏆
...You could just Chapter Select chapter 12 and reset side quest data. You aren't chapter locked on any side quests.
As someone who had gotten the platinum
The minigames were wonky
Glad you pulled through cause i almost gave up on the platinum
It was tough but I got it done in the end 🏆
Massive grats man! Impressive plat right here!
Thanks mate 🏆
Getting to round 10 and like getting one hit is dumb, it was really draining, 10 trophys to go sadly :(
You absolutely smashed it buddy, used that rage as motivation where I couldn't harness it in a productive way haha
I'll be back to try it if and when they nerf the white terror 😭
I platinumed this game last Sunday, and I also had to spend about the same amount of time.
Anyone expecting this to be on the FF7 Remake level would be surprised in a very bad way.
Congrats mate. Haha yeah, this one is so much harder than Remake 🏆
Congrats on the progress so far. Sounds like you'll have the platinum in no time 🏆
Can't stop won't stop is glitched for me just wanting on the update for digital version then I've got plat. Love the video dude
Hoping for a fix asap for you. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 🏆
IMO the road to platinum on any games should feel fun and accomplished, and takes around 60 hours, with 80 hours as stretch, but not this one, FF7 Rebirth platinum is frustrating, annoying and borderline stupid, having to replay all those silly mini games over and over again, not to mention the utterly difficult VR challenges for regular player, which is why you see such a low percentage of players achieving Plat, for the record, it took me nearly 200 hours to do it.
Oh have i mentioned the unskippable minute long mid fight cutscenes? god those make me pull my hair literally when you're retrying a tough fight and watching the cutscenes for the Gazillionth times.
Respect. I’m 6 trophies away and the hard mode and brutal and damn pirate shooter will probably do me in.
Thanks mate. Good luck man, I know you can do it. I didn't have any trouble with that mini game but that's the crazy thing with this platinum. It involves so many different things. People will be great at some of the mini games and terrible at others 🏆
Use that Gotterdamerung if you got it, it does make some fights easier
I tough I would never be able to finish the pirate shooter one. But it's more about being precise instead of spamming shots, and finding the not so obvious targets (like there's a 1k cactuar on the far right when the minigame starts, there are many other targets like these and then you'll breeze through the score)
Congratulations on getting your Plantinum Trophy 🏆I’m currently working on mine .
Thanks mate. Good luck! 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs I’m gonna need it Thank you!
A friend just reloaded his save over and over until the guy showed, seemed to work
Ah nice. Hopefully it'll work for you as well 🏆
I was trying to do the Platinum, but the Chadley brutal challenges and legendarys are making me go insane.
Cheers Mate, I wanted to quit soooo many times haha. I couldn't let it beat me :P
Yeah not going for the Platinum is defo a good idea.
Yeahh I used to like trophy hunting. But the minigames on normal mode pissed me off. Ain't NO WAY am I gonna even attempt it
I felt the frustration of the hardest trophy that I just got, Virtually Renowned.
You're almost done now mate. Well played 🏆
Congrats mate. Well deserved 🏆
I really hope part 3 is toned down. Or at least a little better tested. Good luck on the final trophies though mate 🏆
Congrats man, seriously. The requirements are just frustrating. So far only 0.4% players are able to platinum this game
Thanks mate. Yep, it's probably going to remain a very rare Platinum, since it's not only hard towards the end but it's also a very long one 🏆
My ps5 stopped turning on and I'm just into upper junon ;_; i am living vicariously through you right now
Damn that sucks man. I hope it starts working for you 🏆
Got it done during spring break, and it messed up my sleep schedule lol.
I honestly hope that Square Enix will look at the completion rate on the VR challenges and balance things out for part 3, because the difficulty for the 10 round Legendary bouts (Bonds of Friendship and To be a Hero) are way overtuned.
They actually making it harder after latest patch 1.00.30, with HP MP (both recovery 50%) to HP 50%, MP 30%
Completely agree 🏆
I just finished GOW Ragnarok platinum finally and was about to start this or Dragons Dogma 2 or Rise of the Ronin… you helped me knock this off the list
Haha good call mate. I defo recommend playing this because it's an amazing game. Just stay away from getting the platinum 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs I believe I am on chapter 2. Just had to put it on my backlog for some other plats I was working on
Gg man! couldn’t do this, i think I’ll just stick to 100% each area and mission 😅
Thanks mate. I don't blame you haha. It's much more fun that way 🏆
glad to see i wasnt the only one that went through shit like this 1:39:22
We're all in it together haha. 🏆
420 hours in and I'm still not done. An entire block of neighbors can hear each Brutal and Legendary challenge beaten...
This game is the worst in so many ways after you finish it.
I just platinumed tonight as well. Game time clocked at 133 hours.
Congrats. That's super time efficient 🏆
Yeah, I think I'm going to pass.
The maple story music hit different.
Haha nice catch. The Maple music never gets old for me
Congratulations!
All I need is basically to finish the Chadley Challenges, once I got those down I will get johnny's collection and platinum
Good luck mate 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs Thanks brother!
Thank you mate.
I believe in you 💪 I hope you're making good progress 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs Thank you for the cote of confidence. Congrats on the Plat again!
I hope I can do this.
Great vid mate, even plat video is 2 hours, its crazy...
Haha thanks. Believe it or not, at one point while editing it was over 3 hours.
awesome story! enjoyed the ride!
The jewels sit up challenge I did it while a little tipsy😂😂 I didn't realize I had done it till the next day.
That's hilarious. I couldn't imagine actually pulling that off while tipsy. 🏆
Took me 207 hours to get this Platinum Trophy. Worth every second and besides the cactuar minigames in the desert i enjoyed most of it.
I played it all via Remote Play which was terrible for input lag.
I think you can probably change the difficulty to easy to complete the cactuar challenges
@@cs8712 and deny myself a proper challenge? i think not lol. The minigames are tough but fair once you get used to them.
Congrats mate. Happy to hear you enjoyed it 🏆
Nice job, glad it was a long form video.
Keep at it mate. You'll get it in the end.
Congrats. Glad you enjoyed it mate. Haha it's such a long plat once you get it you do feel a bit like. Well, wtf now haha 🏆
Congratz on the platinum 🎉
I still have all the hardest things in front of me and not looking forward to them. I don't understand why SE are doing their trophies so hard! I miss the FF XV platinum that one I loved (even with that huge turtle😅). I know people like challenges and some are really good at these stuffs but still...Remake challenges were hard. This is indeed brutal. 😢
But even through all of this.
Haha that's the idea mate. The video is for entertainment. I laugh as well.
Good luck mate, you'll get it!
Thank you 🏆
I got my platinum in 190 hours but i also went through the effort of assessing every single enemy and grinding every materia i own to max stars. it is not the hardest platinum i done but close to being the most time consuming. i would say FF9 remaster is harder to platinum in terms of minigames, that include the 1000 rope jumps and guessing the right trio 9 times in a row.
It's crazy what us trophy hunters have to go through sometimes for a trophy haha. I love the dedication 🏆
You deserve it man. hella was the journey!!
Thanks mate 🏆
I’ll platinum this game later in life.
I beat it, did all the mini games and I’m satisfied with it.
Don’t want to get to hard, or do Chadley challenges because I know for a fact it will fucking ruin me.
Best way to go about it TBF. 🏆
Down to 3 mini games and Rulers of the Outer World to get my platinum. Should have it just in time for Christmas, lol.
Haha well played mate. Good luck with the remaining challenges 🏆
@@MonstrousAvail With the level 3 Precision Defence materia equipped you can perfect block it.
Took me around 220 hours to get the platinum😓. Loved the game but it suffers from a severe lack of balance on hard mode.
100%. At least you have the platinum now. It's one to be proud of for sure 🏆
(I was completely spoiler free so had no idea)
Great game, but agree with the designs of certain fights being frustrating, in an attempt to just make them harder...
Nice work mate!
Cheers mate 🏆
This is very hard, but I still haven't dodged 200 lighting in a row yet nor jump rope 400 times
Sorry a 1000 jump rope challenge
lol when i saw him doing the pause cheese to beat the brawling mini game
You gotta do, what you gotta do lol 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs Had it not being because of it Shiva would've been imposible, the shoulder thing was so obscure.
Got the platinum yesterday, there were at least 4 combat simulator missions that I spent hours trying to beat tho.
Congrats. I think I spent at least 30 hours on chadleys challenges alone... Lol 🏆
Hell yeah man it was definitely unforgiving also laughed so hard watching you rage during the brawler mini. Game. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one.
Haha happy I could share my rage with you. It's always oddly nice to see others struggle on the same parts in a game 🏆
ha h ah ah haa, I have always loved FF games because there is always the easy/normal way to get your endings and have fun....
I hated it so much lol.
Thanks mate, it really was. Nice, keep at it, you're almost there! 🏆
The pause strategy is clutch 🏆
Bonds of friendship is right now my kryptonite. It's the last one i need for the plat
Yeah that shit is hard. Good luck getting it done mate. 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs thank you! And congrats on the platinum.
Thanks mate 🏆
@MrLeeNingVs yeah but unfortunately they only worked in open world. But I wish you could use them on every bench 😭
Really enjoyed the mini games, none of them felt hard for me
Ah yeah I heard about that. Hopefully it's fixed ASAP. 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs yep doing the legendary challenges slowly, don’t wanna burn my self out
I didn't do that quest until I finished the game and used chapter select it worked for me with the patch.
Has it been patched now? 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs it hasn't yet, but I think chapter select makes it work at least it did for me

Haha I feel you on that mate. Tbh if it wasn't making the video I would have probably given up 🏆
First play through 55 hours. Now I’m at 110 hours and half done…
Haha yep. It's insane how much is in this game. 🏆
LoL Red dragon battle barrier materia was key lol
I started on Crisis Core, I wanted to platinum all 3, are you suggesting it will suck incredibly and I shouldn't in any way? I'm new to the newer FF7 games.
Nice. Crysis Core was fun. It's totally up to you of course but, if you're asking me if you should platinum Rebirth. No is my answer. 🏆
@@MrLeeNingVs I will take that into consideration. I only get games to platinum them.
@@ghettyz9238do you ever go back to play “any games” or once you’ve platinumed them, they’re gone into the dust?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much 🏆
The plat isn't hard, it's tedious and impossible because the patch glitched the last mini game, now we gotta wait
I felt your pain 100%.
But if you don't have those new buds, it doesn't really matter right😉
Yeah it's hard to not spoil too much.
I finally got my plat after the patch
Congrats mate 🏆
43:21 the hitboxes on those rings are fucked 😂
True lmao 🏆
currently have the brutal and legendary challenges to go then im done... im pre-booking spa treatment for after thats done
