If I recall correctly, when I got SS Ironhide I had to look up the real vehicle because I couldn’t believe it could possibly be in scale. Turns out nope, that topkick is a conversion from a Chevy Kodiak, which is a large (almost semi-truck sized) medium-duty truck which has been used for trailer hauling, buses, utilities, and other fairly beefy uses, and the Topkick damn near made it *bigger* with the full tailgate, thicker wheels, huge bumper, etc. So.. yeah, after years of thinking ironhide turned into a normal pickup, that was a shock.

Your reaction to the size of the P34 seems like mine when seeing a R32 Skyline for the first time. In your head you have this idea but when reality hits...I have no idea why I thought a Skyline would be bigger. I think you're still dead on with the combiner wars Bruticus, it's one of the few gestaults I have around from CW and I just can't bring myself to like it. It's janky. With the newer figures and being washed in certain colors, I think they are starting to use something like Toyhax as a resource now. Why cater to the picky when someone else can do it for you. The same could be said for wheel pegs, which I hate with all my being but I don't see them stopping anytime soon. All the negativity aside, it's a decent enough figure that has me interested enough to see it all come together in hand. So well played Hasbro, well played. Thanks for the review Lazy. As a blessing and curse, your animation has become so predictably good I almost forget to mention it after a long winded comment like this. So if you made it this far, great job Lazy.

Thanks to being late in deciding to want to get SS Devastator and Hasbro discontinuing the Constructicons, (and to add insult to injury now only being 3 figures away from having them all) unless I can find the last 3 I need for a good price on Ebay these guys'll likely be my first combiner. Even if they aren't going to technically be a combiner in the sense of all the other Stunticons just attach to the side of Mensaor's arms, I'm really looking forward to having them all. Can't wait.

I feel like there IS an official figure that has just as clean of an underside... but am blanking on what it was... especially since I am uncertain if it was a car or a truck, maybe a tank.... Is there any possibility your wheels will interfere with the combination process?
I looked into that before modifying. It doesn't look like it as from the hasbro videos it looks like drag strip sits on top of arm molding that's narrower than the car
Dragstrip and Nova Storm tie for most boring paintjob i like to paint all my forza cars like transformers and those two always give me a challenge for making them look decent.
As a kid I always bothered me that Dragstrip never turned into a Top Fuel dragster, but instead a six wheeled car but my feelings were usually washed over when I realized it was a six wheel Formula 1 car and this is going to probably be the only time the Tyrell p50 ever get some sort of shine in the Limelight for a good while.
With some con labels, his guns, and his arms a little angled his robot mode looks ok, plus in any pose his stripes, wheels etc show, I still dont love it, but i work with it.
Dragstrip is my favourite of the Wave 1 Deluxes. His ability to split in half for arm mode allows for a display that makes it look like he's been wrecked in battle or he met a fate with Movie Megatron.
As a huge fan of Menasor, I lost a piece of my soul when the Combiner Wars version was revealed. Love the new wheels. Great Review...I'm so looking forward to the full team of Stunticons.
"If the rest of the set is as good as this figure..." Eh... I know that combiners are the definition of partsforming, but the way that Motormaster can be Menasor on his own WITHOUT the other Stunticons just strikes me as cheating. If the other component robots aren't going to be the limbs themselves, then what's the point? Your tires may be more accurate, but do they doot-dee-doo?
Also, Menasor seems to he one of those teams where you can never make everyone happy It's either the skeletal route and people such as yourself feel like it's not quite right Or it's the CW method and people such as myself feel that Motormaster gets the short end of the stick whther that's in quality, or in scale
Personally, if we're getting a Motormaster in BOTH bot AND truck form, that's finally... Yes, FINALLY, in scale with Optimus Prime, AND can STILL be combined in a similar enough fashion to create a base mode AND combine with the other Stunticons to form Menasor... Then frankly, my dear, I DON'T give a DAMN!!! I wasn't happy with the CW version at all, even WITH all the upgrades to "fix" his crap combined mode, AND I wasn't really a huge fan of the vehicle modes much either. So, while SOME people will NEVER be happy, no matter HOW MANY times this team is attempted, I'm well pleased enough that I'm going in for 2 sets. While SOME people call it "cheating", having the trailer frame up the combiner, I consider it to be fairly accurate for what was intended, plus it offers up additional support, that in theory SHOULD make Menasor LESS wobbly and fiddly to deal with. Bottom line: No matter HOW GOOD it is, there will ALWAYS be a group that will find fault with it. Guaranteed. If Nitpicking were a professional sport... Transformer fans would be the world champions.
Honestly I think you would like Legacy Bulkhead, it has plenty of vehicle detail and hes just a great figure, one of the best figures ive ever picked up.
Ngl this figure is exactly why I dislike kingdom mirage. Yeah, it looks like him but it doesn’t feel like him. Dragstrip proves, to me at least, that Hasbro probably could’ve made a half decent mirage without everything faux forming and have a decent car mode at the same time
If you seen the G1 S2 episode "The Key To Vector Sigma Part 1", the scene where Dragstrip (before it was rebuilt into a Stunticon by Megatron.) was driven by race car driver named Muller before he was tossed him out aside by Rumble, steals the vehicle and drove off!
I always wondered if there was a real F1 car with 6 wheels that Dragstrip was based on, and now I know! Why did F1 have to ban something so cool?! This is a nice little figure. Good review. I am looking forward your reviews of the rest of the set. I just have the G1 version.
Fun review! Dragtstrip's car mode is definitely the highlight of the figure. I really love that transformers vehicle modes are improving in Legacy. Wildrider and Knockout has the most cleanest looking car modes while still being copyright free. I'm so excited to see what the rest of the stunticons will look like as well as other car formers.
That final transformation. Little bit of breakdancing vibe and some spooky optical trickery. I don't know exactly what you did but I know you have similar blocks of colour forming a cohesive movement barely there in the individual frames. Brilliant as always.
i found that painting the horizontal dashes on the knees as well as the continuation of the stripe on the feet in red really improves the coloring of the figure whilst not looking too intrusive. that's my recommendation if you're looking to break up the yellow!
Dragstrip to me is simply incredible- his transformation is fun and intuitive, his robot is nearly perfectly accurate with the inaccurate additions mostly just serving to make him look better, and the car simply looks great. Can't wait for the rest of the stunticons.
I made a t-shirt design of a Tyrell p34 in screen printing class in high school, I accidentally put the finished product on a shirt that was a size too small for me though, but my brother wears it almost daily now. It's just a monochrome single color print, but I'm pretty proud of myself for it though capturing the smaller details of the front suspension piping and the engine block intakes where the hardest part we were kind of limited to silhouette style drawings in Photoshop Later on we had a dual color project, that time I made a picture of Rolf Stomellen's eiffeland e21 (I was in a very brief F1 car phase) that one turned out way better I think despite being marginally simpler,
After seeing the first *legitimate* and *legal* reviews of Motormaster. I'm LOVING these Stunticons. His cab is absolutely incredible. (we don't need to talk about that trailer)
Good reivew. I was upset about the hollow head until I realized there was actually a pupose for it, unlike the legends class ones that are just to save on plastic. I really like this figure. I had the same issue before even opening the box where one of the wheels came off. The plastic notch that hold the wheel on was broken and the wheel just doesn't stay on. Why they didn't use metal pins is beyond me as that would have looked so much nicer and probably eliminated the breakage that is bound to occur with these wheels. Not to mention it would look much nicer instead of the cheap look these give it. He had new tires enTIREly...I see what you did there...lol. I think he looks better than the upcoming Wildrider. Hopefully combined mode will make this set one that we all wanted. Looking forward to your next reveiw. ;)
As someone who’s favorite color is yellow, Dragstrip’s sheer yellow overload is everything I could have wanted and more. Add in a great vehicle mode, robot mode and transformation and it just cements it for me as one of the top wave 1 Legacy figures
I'm really hoping these stunticon molds are not one offs. I really want to see a G2 color scheme or if they appear in the shattered glass comic a SG color scheme. Great review as always keep up the amazing work.
Excellent review The Lazy Eyebrow!!! I was going to pass on Drag Strip originally, but I decided to get him after seeing how much more G1 accurate he is compared to his 2015 figure. :D Hopefully the other Stunticons will be even greater then Drag Strip. :D Keep on being amazing.
Have you seen the chinese people ripping off your design and selling it as their own? They printed in PLA, did a mold, and are selling the resin casts from the mold, with all the PLA printing marks

I like how the individual figures look, but I do not like how Menasor is shaping up whatsoever. The whole “big guy wearing cars as armour” approach for Menasor just rubs me the wrong way
Man I remembered when I had all the F1 related molds. Classics Mirage, CW G2 Dragstrip, WFC Trilogy Mirage, and of course Legacy Dragstrip. It’s unique to see how much time has passed with these characters.
Say what you want about the COMBINER WARS Stunticons, but at least that version of Drag Strip's head wasn't hollowed out. It just seems so...off when he's in robot mode.
My biggest gripe with this figure is that he becomes a yellow bonecrusher in robot mode, I really like the old toy colour scheme with the blue face, and the red/purple/maroon/etc. That’s something I really like about the CW figure, though having never owned that mould I suppose I have yet to be tainted by the realities of those figures. Would love to see your Dragstrip again once you have him all painted up.
Would be nice if they gave wheels on the vehicles more respect. The tyre/rim combo on a vehicle can make or break the overall design. I despise the way pins & pegs get used on the same car, & how they've been putting essentially bicycle width tyres on some (many?) releases. Am I the only person that buys certain Transformers purely for their alt modes? Anyway, looking forward to more of the Stunticons - great job here!
Looking forward to being able to buy your design pre-printed. He (and the rest of the Stunticons) will be my first combiner since I was a kid, since I may only have a tiny window of time to save the money and get the X-Transbots version, but I am all in this Legacy version, though I am not sure about Wildrider and his massive looking back kibble.
Dragstrip is by far the best figure from Legacy atm imo, everything is so good, especially for a combiner limb. It doesn’t feel like there is any compromise whatsoever. The Stunticons as a whole look absolutely amazing so far, I cannot wait to have them all! Completely replaces the shitshow that is the CW Stunticons (and I want a new Offroad Hasbro😉).
Looks like a decent figure,at least he doesn't have the weird back love handle looking parts like the FansToys version has. May get into the Kingdom line when my money flow starts back up. Good vid,man.
Just personal preference, but i like the colors of the 2015 dragstrip more than all of the others. That purple/burgundy color in robot mode just looks great
its amusng you used the poped collar as a bullet shield as i was just talking about a game im making and one character having a bullet prove cape to defelct back attacks
The front/shoulder spoiler pieces are on ball joints. Why are they on ball joints? I doubt its for combiner mode, and the movement is limited to only rotating instead of ball-swiveling. Probably a design dead end/concession in the design process.
Okay Ive been thinking about this for a bit. While of course the reason for the pegs could be money saving after thinking for a bit I think its clear that its simply for space. After looking at all the examples of pegged wheels I just cant see a way you could fit in a wheel with a peg attached, especially when speaking with dragstrip as his wheel flap things need to be thin to accompany the arms
9:48, I mean I painted a few accents red and outlined the knee caps in red and filled them in with purple as well as added red to the pegs on the tire giving them some actual use

I don't know exactly what you did but I know you have similar blocks of colour forming a cohesive movement barely there in the individual frames.

i found that painting the horizontal dashes on the knees as well as the continuation of the stripe on the feet in red really improves the coloring of the figure whilst not looking too intrusive. that's my recommendation if you're looking to break up the yellow!

Dragstrip to me is simply incredible- his transformation is fun and intuitive, his robot is nearly perfectly accurate with the inaccurate additions mostly just serving to make him look better, and the car simply looks great. Can't wait for the rest of the stunticons.

I made a t-shirt design of a Tyrell p34 in screen printing class in high school, I accidentally put the finished product on a shirt that was a size too small for me though, but my brother wears it almost daily now. It's just a monochrome single color print, but I'm pretty proud of myself for it though capturing the smaller details of the front suspension piping and the engine block intakes where the hardest part we were kind of limited to silhouette style drawings in Photoshop
Later on we had a dual color project, that time I made a picture of Rolf Stomellen's eiffeland e21 (I was in a very brief F1 car phase) that one turned out way better I think despite being marginally simpler,
After seeing the first *legitimate* and *legal* reviews of Motormaster. I'm LOVING these Stunticons. His cab is absolutely incredible. (we don't need to talk about that trailer)
Good reivew. I was upset about the hollow head until I realized there was actually a pupose for it, unlike the legends class ones that are just to save on plastic. I really like this figure. I had the same issue before even opening the box where one of the wheels came off. The plastic notch that hold the wheel on was broken and the wheel just doesn't stay on. Why they didn't use metal pins is beyond me as that would have looked so much nicer and probably eliminated the breakage that is bound to occur with these wheels. Not to mention it would look much nicer instead of the cheap look these give it. He had new tires enTIREly...I see what you did there...lol. I think he looks better than the upcoming Wildrider. Hopefully combined mode will make this set one that we all wanted. Looking forward to your next reveiw. ;)

As someone who’s favorite color is yellow, Dragstrip’s sheer yellow overload is everything I could have wanted and more. Add in a great vehicle mode, robot mode and transformation and it just cements it for me as one of the top wave 1 Legacy figures

Excellent review The Lazy Eyebrow!!! I was going to pass on Drag Strip originally, but I decided to get him after seeing how much more G1 accurate he is compared to his 2015 figure. :D Hopefully the other Stunticons will be even greater then Drag Strip. :D Keep on being amazing.
Have you seen the chinese people ripping off your design and selling it as their own? They printed in PLA, did a mold, and are selling the resin casts from the mold, with all the PLA printing marks

I like how the individual figures look, but I do not like how Menasor is shaping up whatsoever. The whole “big guy wearing cars as armour” approach for Menasor just rubs me the wrong way

Man I remembered when I had all the F1 related molds. Classics Mirage, CW G2 Dragstrip, WFC Trilogy Mirage, and of course Legacy Dragstrip. It’s unique to see how much time has passed with these characters.
It's kind of funny how Dragstrip's robot mode backside is the definition of clean, and the you take a look at Wildriders, and disappointment strikes.
Say what you want about the COMBINER WARS Stunticons, but at least that version of Drag Strip's head wasn't hollowed out. It just seems so...off when he's in robot mode.
My biggest gripe with this figure is that he becomes a yellow bonecrusher in robot mode, I really like the old toy colour scheme with the blue face, and the red/purple/maroon/etc. That’s something I really like about the CW figure, though having never owned that mould I suppose I have yet to be tainted by the realities of those figures.
Would love to see your Dragstrip again once you have him all painted up.
Would be nice if they gave wheels on the vehicles more respect. The tyre/rim combo on a vehicle can make or break the overall design. I despise the way pins & pegs get used on the same car, & how they've been putting essentially bicycle width tyres on some (many?) releases. Am I the only person that buys certain Transformers purely for their alt modes? Anyway, looking forward to more of the Stunticons - great job here!
Looking forward to being able to buy your design pre-printed. He (and the rest of the Stunticons) will be my first combiner since I was a kid, since I may only have a tiny window of time to save the money and get the X-Transbots version, but I am all in this Legacy version, though I am not sure about Wildrider and his massive looking back kibble.
Dragstrip is by far the best figure from Legacy atm imo, everything is so good, especially for a combiner limb. It doesn’t feel like there is any compromise whatsoever.
The Stunticons as a whole look absolutely amazing so far, I cannot wait to have them all! Completely replaces the shitshow that is the CW Stunticons (and I want a new Offroad Hasbro😉).

Just personal preference, but i like the colors of the 2015 dragstrip more than all of the others. That purple/burgundy color in robot mode just looks great
its amusng you used the poped collar as a bullet shield as i was just talking about a game im making and one character having a bullet prove cape to defelct back attacks
The front/shoulder spoiler pieces are on ball joints. Why are they on ball joints? I doubt its for combiner mode, and the movement is limited to only rotating instead of ball-swiveling. Probably a design dead end/concession in the design process.
Okay Ive been thinking about this for a bit. While of course the reason for the pegs could be money saving after thinking for a bit I think its clear that its simply for space. After looking at all the examples of pegged wheels I just cant see a way you could fit in a wheel with a peg attached, especially when speaking with dragstrip as his wheel flap things need to be thin to accompany the arms

9:48, I mean I painted a few accents red and outlined the knee caps in red and filled them in with purple as well as added red to the pegs on the tire giving them some actual use
Dragstrip and Motormaster were fantastic. DeadEnd was okay except for the feet. Wildrider and Brakedown were awful
